    Jens in his mid 50s, still sounds like day 1

    • @BillCoz
      @BillCoz 2 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Hell's yeah, Jens is a legend, he always seems to sound amazing live, he's very consistent.
      He may not be the most diverse vocalist but he has one of the strongest voices out there when it comes to that style of scream-singing and THE BEST sense of timing and beat and rhythm.

    • @KILLAGORILLA7000
      @KILLAGORILLA7000 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@BillCoz 100% true. I actually think he’s improved with age. The newer albums have much better vocal production than the old ones too imho

    • @BillCoz
      @BillCoz 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@KILLAGORILLA7000 I mean I loved the DEI/Chaosphere/Nothing era Jens. He didn't have the technology of today in the studio or live performance and it was before anyone figured out "proper extreme metal vocal technique" that saves metal singers from throat problems. But yeah he's had to tighten up his technique as he's gotten older, I imagine after years of doing one of the harshest style of vocals imaginable there is some wearing down of the vocal chords/throat. The records lately have better production, those records I mentioned were over 15-20 years ago so of course they do.

    • @KILLAGORILLA7000
      @KILLAGORILLA7000 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@BillCoz Yep, I feel the same. There just seems to be more room in the mix for Jens on recent records, and it really makes it easy to appreciate his abilities.

      (This is just a speculation but still there is a decent chance that might be the reason) Haake has some problems with his hands. I believe he has eczema and during pandemic period in one his interviews *quotes* ''I’m almost a year out without even hitting a drum”. I think he also put 2 gloves and tapes around his finger just to feel a bit more comfy. Huge respect for him. He did a massive job. Band has not been on stage for like 3 years. They were like pure energy. Massive performance on each song. Yeah, not hearing Bleed is a bit disappointment but still killer job by the band especially from Haake.

      @@emreertem8345 he mentioned in a interview that "the abysmal eye was really hard to play and to record for the album" because as humans they are, we are ALL growing old. He also stated that "bleed is our raining blood" , that he wont be able to play it sooner than later. We should all respect that even though we wish for it to be played. Does not matter if the work is in his feet compared to his hans. He has had issues with his skin yes. But the thing with Bleed is that it is so fucking original and difficult so that he may not be able to play it.
