You are are going to get a lot suggestions for Bleed. Do the full 7 min version. The live drum cam one is a must watch to appreciate the polyrhythm difference between his foot work and his drumming up top with his hands. I also love break those bones whose sinews gave it motion. Such weirdly beautiful rhythms in that one. New Millennium Cyanide Christ official vid, lol

The Gojira-like intro at the beginning is actually a Meshuggah-like intro. Gojira took Meshuggah's (founded: 1987) style and made it their own

Meshuggah is the band that “founded” djent. Straws pulled at random is a great song as well, most people know bleed, demiurge is heavy and groovy, and the demons name is surveillance is fast paced

  • @ashmaze6318
    @ashmaze6318 3 ปีที่แล้ว +64

It's Gojira vibe? Man, You don't have Gojira if Meshuggah didn't exist ^^. Even if I'm a French and proud to have a band so known in the world, Meshuggah was there before and Gojira is a technical baby next to them. All the bands like Gojira or Djent bands etc are here because of Meshuggah. And you right The drums lead, he composed most of the time and guitars players follow the beat.

    • @Tritoness
      @Tritoness 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Who cares Meshuggah existed before Gojira, how is that relevant? I immediately thought of Gojira when hearing the intro of this track, it’s a rythm/technique they used a lot on their Way of All flesh and L’ enfant Sauvage albums. So no surprise it may remind people of Gojira right. ‘All the bands like Gojira’, well there actually is no other band like them, they, just like Meshuggah have created their own sound, and would have definitely existed without them, although, i’m sure Mario or the band in general has taken inspiration of their technical aspect and tempo changes, just like Meshuggah was inspired by other bands. And to call Gojira a technical baby next to them, is also a bit laughable. Although Meshuggah will probably never be topped in that sector, because that’s really their thing, and they are the tightest to do so, (i hear their live sets are one hell of an experience, that much even Danny Carey was gobsmacked after seeing them live), but to minimize Gojira’s technical ability is just not right and it’s actually also not only what they’re about. They’re just different bands, why compare them… Peace✌

Meshuggah have been around since 1987 and still brutally kicking ass in their fifties. The upcoming album is going to be their 9th. They created djent and math metal. Sounds very Gojira sounding? Well yes they have heavily influenced many bands that are well-known today like Gojira. If you finally start reacting to Meshuggah... Oh boy there is no turning back. Their whole catalog is full of amazing unique music. That being said... Out of all the great bands I listen to Meshuggah is my all time favourite band. For next reaction I would suggest you to react to one of their classics "Pravus" (live from Tokyo). Or Violent Sleep Of Reason (studio version)

So, my list of all good Meshuggah track to react to :
Future Bread Machine (from the album Destroy Erease Improve )
Rational Gaze (from the album Nothing)
New Millenium Cynide Christ (from the album Chaosphere)
Bleed (from the album Obzen, make sure to react to the full 7 min version, not the clip which is only 4 min long)
    Demiurge (from the album Koloss)
Clockworks (from the album The Violent Sleep Of reason )
One song per album, from old to new, this will give you a first look of how each album sounds
    Then you have :
    I Am colossus
    Behind The Sun
Break Those Bones Whose Sinews Gave It Motion
    Combustion
    Lethargica
    Obzen
    Pravus
    Dancer To A Discordant System
    Stengah
    Perpetual Black Second
    Straws Pulled At Random
    Soul Burn
    Concatenation
    Corrido Of Chameleons
    Born in Dissonance
    Nostrum
Thoses are the the songs i would recommend before what will follow next
    The whole Cath 33 Album
this is a concept album about paradox, 13 songs that all goes together making a one big song, if you react to this, you have to make The whole Album in one reaction
    The EP "I"
This is for me their greatest works, the EP is only one song, called : I
but be carefull, don't start by this song, you have to know a lot about Meshuggah before trying to listen to this
