We all appreciate the sheer insanity of your persistence to keep going. So much work, so much time. Your dedication and care really shows. Props to all the team players behind the scenes and props for giving them some love. Here’s to the most important part. Having fun :)
Hope this answers your questions but please leave a comment if there's anything else about my process I can share with you! Andrew! really appreciate you sharing this... the video-making aspect of a music channel can sometimes feel challenging but your process is super inspiring!
Hey Andrew, sorry to come off as this but back in April, Fluffle Puff (who used your iconic song for their video) got exposed for having predatory relationship with 2 minors for over a decade. im sorry if you're finding out about this but i just wanted to let you know that someone who used your song is a very disgusting person and you have full right to revoke their permission for your song, i also hope you can spread awareness regarding the situation considering Fluffle is unfortunately getting away with it once again.
⭐️👋 I was a musician for almost 20 years before losing a lot of my library. Then I worked a job in data backup and recovery, and while I can say the rabbit hole can go deeper, I too landed on using a Synology NAS at home. There are more affordable models than what Andrew shows here. A 6 bay (~$1000) will do you A LOT especially with RAID 6 so you don’t have to own 2 boxes. To get maximum performance you do need hard wired ethernet to your machine which he mentioned-thank you Andrew for explaining all this to the average person. This was a perfect sponsor. Reliable data storage is the most important thing we can invest in as musicians. Don’t lose your stuff!
@@TheBeakertube i don't think they're talking about how it's edited, rather how the clap is recorded rather than andrew throwing in a random clap sound effect so that it sounds just right
I think the universe reabsorbed the energy capacity from the rest of us to supercharge Andrew Huang. If I ever achieve 1/10th of an Andrew Huang day, it'll be my personal record.
Bro I've been wanting this type of video from you for sooo long! I did my own 2 minute breakdown of one of my songs and it was the most tedious task, learning everything as you go. There's so much that goes into making these kinds of videos, let alone making music! Thank you Andrew!!!
Dude, this is such a great video. To start at the end, I absolutely loved your book. So many celebrity/influencer creator books are overhyped and half-assed, but the care you put into yours, and the genuine and super useful advice you were willing to share really shined. I read the hardcover, then listened to you read the audiobook driving around half a year later, and I feel like it's done really good things for my creative practice. And this video is totally on brand, or in line with the book. You're really taking us into the nitty-gritty of your practice, showing us the polished and not-so-polished bits, and giving away gems of advice that other people would charge for or jut keep to themselves. Thanks a lot for sharing this, Andrew; I appreciate ya.
I do want to say that these videos as well as your other content are incredibly inspiring! I picked up music a few years ago to take part in a one week album challenge and I'm not sure I would have continued doing it without yours and Rob's videos. Its also super cool that you're able to do so many things to such a great quality. Thanks!
People often tend to forget that making money on youtube also costs a lot of money before things are posted. I can really see and hear the quality and I am so happy I can just throw my project files away when a modular video is done.
The quality of your content is unmatched, and now, we get to see exactly why. Unbelievable effort and talent from you and the whole team. Thank you for blessing us with quality videos and music for many years.
Thanks so much for this insight Andrew! You made me get DaVanci Resolve, a new camera and new motivation to do something with my creativity. Just uploaded my first video in a while and it feels really great :)
i appreciate you sharing all of this BTS workflow, even as someone who doesnt work in music production at all. super helpful to see things like your storage solutions, editing workflow, gear, and everything else just to understand how much actually goes into creating your top tier content. thank you andrew, and the crew who made this video possible
Such a great video! I'm a filmmaker by trade and I love these kinds of process videos and seeing how "non-filmmakers" approach the production and post-production process. It's so refreshing! I always come away with "I never thought about it that way". And WOW!! That Resolve split screen plugin would be AMAZING to get my hands on!!
just when i started thinking about getting back into making youtube music production videos again (and after a big headache with my lighting situation) this comes up on my youtube start page. seeing you having similarly no idea about lighting and cameras to me (probably still a lot more but i'll take it!) was so refreshing and lifted a weight off my shoulder haha. so - THANK YOU for making this video!
wow. at work w/ companies over the last 15+ years have seen how meticulous and robust processes are for data & mgmt, ... for some reason i completely ignore that when i'm working alone. no wonder i've been so ineffective lol. your workflow is stellar!
It took a long time for me to get here but it’s a very worthwhile lesson! Systems and organization don’t make you less of an artist, they enable you to create more and better ✋✨
This video answered so many questions I've had about this channel that I was never able to articulate...from the logistics of shooting, routing audio for both the video and into the DAW, data management...thank you Andrew. I will be coming back to this video at different stages of my journey. You absolute legend ⭐
Liked & commented before I even hit play! I love that you did this, I’ve been watching you for forever and always wondered how I could tap into the same kind of content as you! Keep inspiring others & being as dope as you are! *high five*
Turns out the most important tools are talent, dedication, and hard work. But this was very cool to see. Awesome growth and evolution from the early days!
Love this. It's so good to see a behind-the-scenes look at your creative business (So inspiring) . Half way through your book and loving it, Working on my own spreadsheet for ideas. So much inspiration for me comes from your content and music. Wrote my whole honours dissertation on found sound because of it. Much love from Australia 🤟🙂👍.
Wow! As someone who has really got his music production game going after years of study and practice yet knowing only a little bit about video production, this is the perfect video for me right now. Thanks Andrew 👊
Phil is a legend! There's a built-in tool called "video collage" which lets you do split grids quite easily, too. Absolutely love DaVinci Resolve and have been getting into Fusion lately, it's wild!
@8:17 "We don't like it." Andrew, I know it's a massive P.I.T.A. ...but y'all do such a fantastic job, and myself and all your fans love it and truly appreciate all the effort you put in!
I love love my Synology DS1522! Best purchase in my studio besides my computer! I'm just starting to get into content creation so trying to learn. Really appreciate you sharing and making it less intimidating for us beginners :)
Love you Andrew❤ your content is always inspiring, lot of hardworking, you really show your passion in music! And able to put together all those ideas and craftsmanship in your video is truly amazing!
this is the video I have been waiting for!!! I love this!!!! I work in video editing in my day job and have always wondered how you put these together! I also utilize these skills in my music promotion, of course lol.... HUGE Thank you for this Andrew!
Oh I’m SO GRATEFUL for this, I’ve been thinking about how to sync music making with video since I started my own channel. I think I have an outline now… and yes, bringing video into Ableton is a pain in the ass!😅
The coding that allows an Ableton export into Davinci sounds like a game changer, I've been doing a lot back and forward between Ableton and Vegas video editor, but its very labour intensive!
Such a cool video! Thanks for breaking it out the way you did. I would DEFINITELY be interested in the "Split Screen" plugin. I'm sending this to all our video editing students in our school. Great job!
This was a great vid, fave parts; the clap, the audio capture, the fact there are no shortcuts in editing(hahah, i kinda knew this, but we all hope ty for showing you just need to pick up a shovel and start digging), the ableton tip(lofi vid hifi aud). the part that was a little over my head; the audio capture (multi bus) needs a detailed vid...
I appreciate all your clips brotha…especially for a 50 y/o Boom Bap DJ/PRODUCER 30 YEARS DEEP…your fresh new tricks and advice keeps me relevant 😂 Keep Doing your thang YoungBlood… DJ RAY RAY 🫡💯
hey, please don't shoot yourself shooting yourself, or even shoot yourself at all. also, you had an opportunity to do a real quick ad for transit when you were talking about your transition. i mean TRANSITIONS. no pressure to transition. you do you. you're the best, thank you for everything. p.s. this was sooooooooooo helpful.
I always wanted to know about syncing video up for the found sounds. It sort of breaks my heart that it's just as hard as I thought it was, haha. Respect for the dedication to your craft!
the clap intro behind the scenes feels like i've seen something i'm not supposed to
Such an effective strategy…
agreed
Hey Andrew, we need a "How to time management like Andrew Huang" video ❤🙌🏼
He has a DeLorean in his Garage and a TARDIS in the basement.
For reals.
Definetely!
This
Best video idea I've heard of in a long while.

Man, you’re such a blessing to the music community. Few people are so honest and open about their process
Weeeeeee love it! Nothing better than a good ole behind the scenes of creativity. I live for this.
Such a joy to be part of the process 💖Love working with you and the whole team! 😁
Dude the way you do the clap is literally how I thought you did it!! Im so excited to watch this video already
Ive always thought he did it with his foot for some reason
How else could you do it if not editing in the clap sound

0:15 masterclass beginning! Love it!
That split screen plugin is insane! Can’t wait to see it in the public light!

as a musician turned video guy, i absolutely love your content and appreciate the consistent quality. been watching for ages.
This video is so incredibly meta
I think this is my favourite Andrew Huang video now

Loved seeing the Marty scream, also glad to see he’s still part of the team! 🎉
Great work man. There needs to be more videos like this in our field because it is largely a mystery how to get into this
Awesome seeing how this project has grown over the years. Wouldn’t be possible without all the hard work you’ve put in behind the scenes

Yes, it was really cool and interesting to see how you and your team are making awesome videos.
Thank you! I was always curious about the audio routing for the larger shoots. Yes, complicated, thanks for working through the headaches 😅.
