- This video shows you how to get lots of cementing paste (with a frog) and chitin from the bug cave on Fjordur. This cave also goes by the name of the Bear Cave, and it is where you will find the Artifact of the Strong and great loot crates.

Additional protip. Those meganeuras are a great source of bloodpacks. You can just fly through that part of the cave spamming left click with a decent meelee desmodus, and get yourself 200+ bloodpacks in a matter of seconds

you should use a high lvl megathirium* , they get a boost when the kill bugs, they wont get the cementing past but they will get all the stuff to create a ton of it.
That would work great, but I don’t like collecting all the stone to make cementing paste.
if you dont have a good frog or saddle yet, what i did was took a baby battle rex of mine and pumped HP and Stam and then killed the big stuff at the beginning like he did and then where all the bugs are i just put my frog on follow and focused the big stuff while the frog ate the bugs. Probably not as efficient but if you dont have a good frog to ride with a good saddle this was a good alternative for me. Still got a load of cem paste while staying safe myself and my frog not having to worry about stamina issues or dying

Thank you. Super helpful. Easy 3000 paste thanks to my frog and 6000 chitin because my megatherium was raging. So much weight that my snow owl had trouble carrying it. All three creatures were about lvl 250.

Anyone know how long do we need to wait for them to spawn again after we clear the cave?
I'm not sure how long it takes for the bugs to respawn. Re-spawning times in Ark seem to be random sometimes.
or if you dont want to risk a frog on this cave bring a megatherium they are a beast and get tones of chitin
I may have to go back to the bug cave and give a megatherium a try.
How you dont get cryo sickness man ?
On single player you select "PVE Mode" check box. I think there is a way to change the gamefiles on pc too.
Thanks for making this video. The video only cleared up when you exited the cave. Prior to that, it was so blurry I could barely make out the landmarks. Maybe you could re-do the video when you have time.

First time I tried it, I used bug repellent and cactus chowder. It worked OK for me (I survived the trip) but I didn't get much paste. I'll try a megatherium next and see what shakes out.
I like the frog, but a lot of people have had good luck, and prefer the megatherium.

Would you recommend a megatherium for this cave?
The megatherium would do well against the bugs, but I think parts of it might be to narrow for it to get through. I have not tested it out though.
As long as you have a cryopod on hand and don’t mind the camera angles, they fit in just fine.
Yep,i did it with a wild megatherim and it OBLITERATE the entire cave without losing any hp(and could pass everywhere)
On the server I play there are lvl 600+ bears there so it is kinda a wish for suicide lmao
Usually with the frog I can just avoid the bears by hopping over them, but I have to be very careful not to be overburdened or low on stam. I am going to lose a frog now and again.

Can I do that with a rex??? Solo
I don’t know how well a Rex will fit in there. You can’t walk one in through the cave opening, so you will need cryopods, and the cryo nerf turned off. Rexes won’t be as good for getting chitin, but all the bugs are good for getting xp.
The bugs don’t spawn back for me

That has happened to me too. The bugs should come back to the cave.
Do not take rex in here lol.....
I am guessing they don't fit well in that cave.
@@FatFrogsSwamp they fit fine but the turn radius got mine pinned to the wall while a dire snacked on my boots the whole time lol
