Pete likes to make them feel like they've made mistakes so he can lowball them if he does decide to invest. Just the game he always plays, he jumps in with a negative comment at the start of every pitch he likes.
It was nice to see Deborah's 'here we go' reaction when the guys were about to counter, followed by the pleasant look of surprise when they countered with something completely reasonable.

I can't lie, this is my favourite pitch by far. Two hardworking, honest and down to earth men. No ego, so attached emotions - just a drive to work hard and make some money.

You really don't know anything about someone's ego when they're nervous being in front of those cameras in the Den. For all you know they could be the biggest frat boy douches ever. Don't just a book by its cover.

Ms Starlight in China you can find this machines for a cheaper price and obviously the revenue comes with renting them, anybody with the will to work could make a business work with just one of them and keep growing
no need for the cell. Buy the camera from china, connect it to a printer via a cheap interface. I would rent the thing for at least half of what they do.
What happened to their business?
Seriously. Just get a dang raspberry pi, a cheap plastic mold, and write some exceptionally simple software for the interface. Pretty easy to set up.
Also, they should be accepting credit cards (preferably tap to pay-style), rather than coins. And they should pay for some snapchat-esque filtering & animation software, so that they can put hats on people, change backgrounds, etc.
At their price point, they need way more features than what their machines offer.

@@simonbecker6070 Yes we have smartphones and music streaming services at the touch of a button but people still pump money into pub jukeboxes. We can grab a drink from a shop but still use vending machines. If something is present, people will use it. Especially if they want attention like some gym-goers or are pissed like you tend to get in bars.

Simon Becker We have these at my uni for event nights. It's a lot easier to get everyone in for a group photo than someone taking a selfie. Ours were a bit different tho, it had greenscreen capabilities.

Half of Jessops stores just closed in the last month. It was such a poorly run company,
Shame they went bust, I used a product just like this in Singapore and it was really handy to print out wallet sized pictures at the touch of a button.

I don't think it was towards Rachel. Peter invested in Jessop's (photo company) when it went into administration in 2013, and he was making a tongue in cheek remark about the future of the investors' business. He was right.
Rachael was a dragon during the first two seasons. Her business Red Letter Days went bust and was bought out of administration by Peter and Theo and they later turned it around and sold it for a profit. Since she went effectively bankrupt and apparently argued a lot with the other dragons, she was replaced in season three.

This is super big in Japan
im not sure why none of the dragons other than Piers realised that this is nothing more than a touchscreen with a basic mobile processor and camera stuffed into a (fairly nice looking) very large box.
This was filmed in 2012 & broadcast in 2013, just as smartphone technology was about to really advance. They went bankrupt in 2017.
Photobooths are still massive - something about having a physical space and a physical picture, specifically set up to take silly photos that will never get old

Well, Duncan and Kelly did not sell themselves. They did not say what they could add to the venture. Just a plain offer. Deborah indicated what she could bring with her offer. So probably that is why they chose her.

For anyone interested, their company went bust Christmas 2016 but they’ve been working on a different project since.
These are basically on all the self checkouts now - all they need is a print photo button and you can pose with your shopping

emilio robles that’s not a good comparison at all. First because of the quality of the pictures, photographers have much better tools. And photographers walk around the party, taking shots of different angles and different moments. This machine is stuck in one place and needs people to come up to it to take pictures
