I work for a tanker company who supply and transport water for rail and construction. Our tankers fill up 2 or 3 times a day 25,000 ltrs a time. In certain areas you are permited to use FH fire hydrant, if no WO wash out if available, but only with consent from the supplier, I know of only 1 FH in the STW area that we can use due to the WO being on an access road and tankers would block it, not all standpipes are metred but most are they are also only to be used in certain areas, ie green for STW orange for York Water etc. The licences no longer need to be displayed or even be carried, but you must have access to a digital copy if required, each licence is specific to a vehicle so if you think someone is wrongly using a hydrant, or a washout ring the water provider and give them the reg number, too many company's are getting 1 licence and sharing it between 3 or 4 truck's.
I used to work for a huge horticulture operation in Australia and one day we noticed that the maintenance crew were placing adapters onto the massive water tanks. It was later found that they had unlawfully accessed the fire fighting water supply line which ran into the property and were using it to top up the tanks for free as it was not metered.
I've been wondering something similar (here in The Netherlands), I live on a canal and I regularly see these cleaning service vans pull water from the canal and I really wonder if that's legal. At the very least it's an undue nuisance to the public with the sound that pump makes and considering there are no residentials a hundred meters further down the road.
@@tehjejem Yeah I have since called the city and they told me to call them when it happens again. They do need to observe it personally though, a photo will not be enough. If you see somebody taking water from a hydrant, and they're not one of our team members or a fire fighter, they may be using the hydrant without authorisation. we used the hydrants on building sites all the time to fill up everything
Well done. Very cool drone video.
Brilliant video, I’d love to see you do the Amazon warehouse in Allesely, Coventry! They seem very secretive there and don’t like if when a drone goes anywhere nearby
For anyone who doesn't know where Swadlincote is: It's at the bottom of the pond
So while the pumping takes a good ten minutes, I'm not sure 'Handhaving' will ever get here on time to witness it, but I'll try :D
@@antimonycup7066 Let us know if you ever get any further with this please, sounds fun.
@@madduckuk Hasn't been happening the last two months, maybe it's a summer thing, but will do if it does, I promise :)
@@antimonycup7066 Thank you!
Deflate their tyres and they won't come back 😉
DJ is bright articulate funny and informative! The best type of auditor!
Dear oh dear oh dear. Cheers DJ.
Yet more evidence of what happens when some people are issued " Lanyard of Self Importance!" 😆
Wow did you wake the security guard up 🤣
If you see somebody taking water from a hydrant, and they're not one of our team members or a fire fighter, they may be using the hydrant without authorisation. Unauthorised users will use a variety of methods and different types of equipment to take water from a fire hydrant that they are accessing.
can you provide a link that shows this?
Just a quick bit of info for you mate, on an iphone you can’t use 141 in front of a number to hide your number, it doesn’t work.
You have to go into the settings then phone and turn off show my caller id.
Just a heads up.
It' amazing how many foreigners seem to know UK law better than UK citizens who have made it their business to stick to the law.
It's also fair to say that it's amazing how many Brits don't know the law. Furners are not the problem, ignorance and lack of education.
It's slightly worrying that most of the security guards(security!!!!!) are branded as one of the groups we have to keep an eye on.. Especially in places like Telford or Rotherham.....
@@kevgray. Which groups do we have to keep an eye on Kev ?
It is . It just shows you how many Brits dont know the law .
@@scooby1992 you tell me..... Anything I do say may be used in evidence against me with the social media please everybody think you were trying to catch me out
DJ ... When land owners argue drone rules with you - you're rather put out because it's your daily goings on ... Hydro Vac chap tells you the rules HE KNOWS because they're part of his daily goings on, and look at you ... Trying to correct him 🤣🤣🤣
Drones in the air. Drones on the ground.
How are you going to Blame Me? 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Funny carry on with them coming out like angry wasps……..I hope they haven’t got a big grow on, must be something important judging by their reaction.
The embarrassment with so many grown men all getting their tampons in a twist about a drone ! ! WORLDS GONE CRAZY ! !
Wow! Another hopelessly out of date company that doesn’t understand social media and whose employees are completely ignorant. If any company directors are watching - get your act together!!
Indeed how ignorant to not want some random weirdo with no official identification filming you from the street for god knows how many hours. Why do people not like that
@@smash7396 Just a member of the public exercising their rights of photography. Get over it. You are photographed constantly 24/7 every time you walk in a street in the UK. You just don’t know it. Get over it.
@@Oceans_Sail Oh ok so he's not an official auditor but a freelance photographer. I see, so what your saying is you wouldn't mind a pedophile going into a playground and taking pictures of your daughter on the swings because he claims to be auditing the playground with no proof of who he says he is? It's ok because there's CCTV in her school? Do you understand how ret*rded your logic is?
There is a stark difference between CCTV and a random nobody in plain clothes filming your movements in a street and then posting it all over social media, especially after you have explicity asked them to not film you
That's perhaps the grossest breach of human rights and privacy laws in my opinion, irrespective if coppers feel the same way.. What you seem to be suggesting is that if these people don't want to be filmed by this random person with no identification then they have no rights and violence is the only answer to stop yourself and your privacy rights being abused?? I just want to understand that point
And that you'd be perfectly ok if a pedophile was filming your children in a park claiming to be auditing the swings? with no proof of ID?
DJ - do you get excited when you get a certain response and realize that you will be providing maximum entertainment? It is so generous of you to provide these risk assessments and advice free of charge.
Well it's like knocking on your front door and DJ saying "Sir I'm gonna be flying over your house" lol. Of course that's private but most folks don't know the difference and bug out 😉
@@dkayflowers79 It really isn't like knocking on your front door. That is a work place, they don't live there, their kids don't live there, their wives don't live there. it's a work place buddy
6.20,did you wake that security guard up DJ
“I don’t even know who you are”
“I can tell you my name”
“No that’s just hear say”
Where do they find people with such low IQs
Great content again man
@Brian Mooney stressful? how so?
they're everywhere. zombie nation.
I remember watch Fred Dibnah fill his traction engine from a fire hydrant. The fire service where glad he kept it clear of debris and leaves if I remember right
Christ almighty it gets more like comic cuts by the minute with all these people spouting off at something that they haven’t got a clue about.
I used to announce myself when i wanted to fly my drone over a business I stopped doing that after the 3rd time I blindly got pepper sprayed and or tazed at the same time. Now people on-site get to guess where I am controlling the drone because I have stopped launching from the main gate.
Ask them for a CAD reference or CHS reference for their call to the police, then call the police and give them that reference and ask them if they are coming.
I think in US they do own up so far that's why you can build up and not out go as high as you want building a dorma making house taller it's common
I thought it was well known that other people apart from the Fire Service could use hydrants. They will of course have a meter supplied by the water company.
A gynaecologist would have a life's work at this location.
Hahaha... I see what you did there 😂
