Frankly, given how much into NFTs Square Enix is and the existence of their "ethics" department that only do dumb censorship based on "modern western sensibilities", I don't think I want my favorite Final Fantasy game (hell, the 2 Parasite Eve too) ruined by the "modern" Square Enix.
I am SO down for a Final Fantasy IX remake. That is still one of my favorite games. I have it on my PS3, PS4, AND PS5. I would love to see a ground up remake, but I pray they don't do it in episodic form.
@@tylerhuffman3134 I highly recommend it. It goes back to the fantasy setting, and you don't have to fool around with junction systems or materia. It's much more straightforward, and the characters are just all so loveable.
Given the recent release of Final Fantasy XVI, IX would be a prime candidate for a FFVII Remake-style remake. If Square-Enix can remodel the combat to be action-oriented while keeping the stylized art style of the original PS1 game, it would be a huge win.
They should’ve used the 012 version instead as the entry since that one is more definitive in adding content in terms of more story/battle modes/labyrinth/assist + summon system/new characters.

Well there was REMASTER that came out maybe like.. two years back? It's available on all systems as far as I know. Unsure if an actual REMAKE will be down the pipeline but there is a recent Remaster
I wouldn’t hold for a remake, even if there IS one it would be likely it’s at least 4-5 years away. The original is still the best game in the series for me, just go into it not worrying about the older style because it’s really fantastic

I heard Kefka was actually an old partner of the character Shadow who was abandonned after an heist gone wrong and captured by the empire to be used later on in Magitek experiments.
8 is the is the one with the largest untapped potential of them all. Garden could be adapted massively to having actual lessons based on each and every aspect of the game, junctioning, tactics, Combat. Not to mention a wildlife class to learn about the vast wildlife of final fantasy, which can be a form of learning what gives you what items and magic without being in the field whilst also having a practical. Driving lessons, Summon Class to do same as wildlife but with aummons etc. They could put more depth into the ranking system, possibly showing other players stats aswell. Filling in the world more too since its one of the emptiest maps ff has ever done, Personally id like a sepersate section from the main story characters to create your own s.e.e.d member and go on missions with friends.
It took me forever to beat FF VIII but I think it was worth the effort. Also I loved FF IX when I first started playing it. So I would appreciate a remake of either one or both.

I love ff8 so much, the junction system is my favorite part a remake should definitely have it in it, if they take out dynamic leveling that would fix a big issue of people's issues with the game in my opinion
@socratesdelespiritu204 that would be cool I think another solution is to be able to have more than 100 of each magic but you don't get anymore Stat increases after 100 this can fix the holding onto magic issue
That's what I'm thinking too 😂 drawing magic should just increase the level of magic/unlock it! And monster carries only limited amount of said spells for junction and can be get from cards using quezalcotyl's card refined ability
1. Vagrant story: God I want to replay that game 2. FFVIII: junction system I liked, but not the drawing of magic 3. FFIX: loved everything about that game 4. FFX: to experience that journey again would be nice
For me its definitely FF2, FF8 and FFT. Love those 3 but i am curious about some spin offs i hope for their fans' sake that FF Mystic Quest (one with Benjamin/Zash) and Vagrant Story (since it gets referenced alot in FF12 or in Ivalice Alliance in general).
A perfect list; I 100% agree on, for once. LOL Although I never played Tactics, as I'm not a tactical game fan. This list hits all the correct beats. 8 was my least favorite; because I couldn't figure out it. Although; I did play FF I and II on the Gameboy, 6 was my actual jumping off point for the series. Next to 7; it's the one I love the most. And yes; Vivi needs to come back in glorious 3D. 9 was a great game, and I hold it up with some of my favorites in the series. 10, and 10-2, also needs to be remade. As I don't think you can have one; without the other.
I think that Final Fantasy X's turn based combat can still work today. Persona 5 proved that turn based combat can still be great if done right. It should just be flashier to grab people's attention.
I would love to see a Final Fantasy XI remake of some kind. With the trust system they could retune much of the difficulty and make the game single player. Or do a full graphic overhaul and update the battle speed a little and keep it online.
I would kill for a FF6 and Vagrant Story remakes!! Please, Square!! Vagrant Story, especially deserves a modern upgrade, as it hasn't been touched for over 23 years, and this masterpiece should be experienced by more people!
@@davidkozak9289 If key members of the OG staff are involved (Matsuno, Minagawa, Sakimoto, Yoshida), then I would be confident that they would handle the remake with the proper respect! And yes, Vagrant Story is near perfect in every way, except for the interface. At the very least, whether they do a full remake or remaster, they need to remove the tedium of swapping gear and crafting. Most people just wouldn't put up with that today.
Would be pretty surprised if FF6 or FFX isn't at the top of most people's lists. Kind of think those are the next two most would like to see at some point.

people who use the laughing scene from FFX to make fun of it's voice acting tells me they haven't even played the game. if they did then they'd know there's some context to that scene and those laughs were a deliberate voice acting direction. you even hear their genuine laughter after those laughs also, the person who saved Square Soft from bankruptcy probably earned himself a well deserved promotion in the company that came with some pull
I'd really like to see a remake of 2. I feel like there are a lot of good things about that game brought down by frustrating systems and technical limitations.
To be one of the biggest list channels there is you definitely don't know how to make a list without breaking rules. "10 Final Fantasy games"... "Vagrant Story is the only non Final Fantasy game on our list." Then change the title to 9. Every single list I've seen by you guys, you break the rules you lay out yourself or you mess it up like this.
I definitely think 4 and 6 should be at the top of the list, they're both 2D games that got a less than serviceable 3D remake. They deserve to be fully fleshed out games
Let's be real, I would love for all of them to get remakes. I would love if they would have a dissida type game but the battle system was like seven remake or sixteen. Instead of the corny story line have the story be that square is putting on a cosplay convention of people's favorite characters and everyone shows up and it turns out they have to fight to win. That way it can be like a tribute to the fans and characters and not just another "we need all the strongest fighters of all time and space"
An FFIX remake would be great, dont get me wrong, but it's the absolute last FF that needs to be remade. Just finished playing through it again a couple weeks ago and it still holds up perfectly.

Final Fantasy Tactics ia my favorite game ever and deserves a remake. I would also really like on of Dirge of Cerberus, when it first game out I played it so much. Final Fantasy 10 will absolutely get a remake within the next 6 years, cross my words.

The most important remakes from Squaresoft/SquareEnix portfolio: FFVI, FFVIII, FFIX, Vagrant Story, Xenogears and PARASITE EVE! I will gladly drop $100 for a Parasite Eve remake.
I don’t want any of these games to receive the FF7 Remake treatment. The last thing we need are more remakes that change core plot points and mechanics from the original and get released in installments rather than finished stories.
8 really needs a remake. If nothing else they could make the whole story a lot more clear. A lot of people never delved enough into the story to understand what was going on.
Nah. Don’t remove the junction system. I would love to see how they could enhance it and how it could complement a newer, more action based battle system.
A more action oriented Final Fantasy X. HELL NO. I can't think of anything worse. The best thing about that game was it's combat, it was practically perfect, the only one in the series that kept every battle invested until the end.
I think Vincent in Dirge could use a DMC or FFXVI treatment, instead of just a thirdperson shooter, while Dissidia could use a new formula, that game was so repetitive as hell, you just fighter other main character/villain and a mannikin, not much of enemy variety
I'm only 37 seconds in, but shouldn't the credit to where the game footage is from being a bit more accurate? What I mean is the first footage seen is from the Pixel Remaster of Final Fantasy VI, not the original from the SNES, or am I being a bit pedantic?
Honestly with how well received the FF7 remake was received, combined with how much more appealing the combat system looks (have not played the game so can’t say it is or is not better), I can’t help but think many of these games would benefit from that same treatment! I love RPG’s, but I am sorry I do not love the standard turn based ones that are like final fantasy. Don’t get me wrong, I realize the combat systems have evolved enough over time, but ultimately, I prefer games more in the vein of Action RPG’s where the combat is more exciting and varied!
6 to 12 is basically the golden age of final fantasy, they would all benefit from remakes, other than that tactics is obviously up there. And personally always open for a FF dissidia ressurection, they drop the ball REALLY hard with NT and that bs 3v3, could've been an amazing game but nop they blindly followed what nobody wanted.
A remake of Duodecim would be amazing but I would be happy if Square. Would. Effing. Put. It. In. The. PS Store already. WHY they haven't done that when most, if not all of their PSP titles are there baffles me to this day. Come on, Square. You have no excuse. My PSP is at the end of its playable life with the joystick showing wear and tear. Just put the game on the Store so can play it via my PS4. I wanted to like NT. I really did but they made it a chore to unlock the story. It killed any enjoyment I would've gotten from it.
You know what game needs a fricken remake the final fantasy 13 if that game was free roam action gameplay it would have been really cool and made it open world and less linear

9 is probably next there are several IX easter eggs in FF16 from the hideaway being set in the Invincible to the scarecrows who look like ViVi

I need an FF9 and FF6 remake. Their stories need to be retold in modern graphics and excellent voice acting. It's gonna get real emotional.
The first FF was rebooted twice. FF Mobius and Stranger of Paradise as a Prequel.
FFVIII - just picturing Lunatic Pandora would be creepy in the best way possible.

An FFIX remake would be great, dont get me wrong, but it's the absolute last FF that needs to be remade. Just finished playing through it again a couple weeks ago and it still holds up perfectly.

At this point if Vagrant Story got a remake, I'd say they add Final Fantasy as a subtitle in some way. Either, Final Fantasy: A Vagrant Story. Or Vagrant Story A Final Fantasy.

These Best Final Fantasy games from the Previous Years deserve to be Remakes ASAP. They deserve the same treatment as the *Final Fantasy VII* franchise. They need English Dub Voice Actors and Actresses, Areas, Levels, Stages, you name it.
Final Fantasy Tactics ia my favorite game ever and deserves a remake.

The most important remakes from Squaresoft/SquareEnix portfolio: FFVI, FFVIII, FFIX, Vagrant Story, Xenogears and PARASITE EVE! I will gladly drop $100 for a Parasite Eve remake.
I don’t want any of these games to receive the FF7 Remake treatment.
The last thing we need are more remakes that change core plot points and mechanics from the original and get released in installments rather than finished stories.

both 9 & 10 are strongly rumoured with 9 being on the nvidia leak showing proof exists for it.
8 really needs a remake. If nothing else they could make the whole story a lot more clear. A lot of people never delved enough into the story to understand what was going on.
FINAL FANTASY VIII is the best and needs a remake. The world is so rich and it was one of the last open world RPGs before Final Fantasy went on-rails.

Nah. Don’t remove the junction system. I would love to see how they could enhance it and how it could complement a newer, more action based battle system.

A more action oriented Final Fantasy X. HELL NO. I can't think of anything worse. The best thing about that game was it's combat, it was practically perfect, the only one in the series that kept every battle invested until the end.
Turn the gain up on your mic - your mix from mic to gameplay audio is completely off.
I think Vincent in Dirge could use a DMC or FFXVI treatment, instead of just a thirdperson shooter, while Dissidia could use a new formula, that game was so repetitive as hell, you just fighter other main character/villain and a mannikin, not much of enemy variety

I'm only 37 seconds in, but shouldn't the credit to where the game footage is from being a bit more accurate? What I mean is the first footage seen is from the Pixel Remaster of Final Fantasy VI, not the original from the SNES, or am I being a bit pedantic?
FF6 and Dirge of Cerberus definitely needs a remake.
Honestly with how well received the FF7 remake was received, combined with how much more appealing the combat system looks (have not played the game so can’t say it is or is not better), I can’t help but think many of these games would benefit from that same treatment!
I love RPG’s, but I am sorry I do not love the standard turn based ones that are like final fantasy. Don’t get me wrong, I realize the combat systems have evolved enough over time, but ultimately, I prefer games more in the vein of Action RPG’s where the combat is more exciting and varied!
Been like decades waiting for proper FF6 remake, now it would be much better if it getting a movie adaptation instead.
If Tactics Ogre had a remake, FFT could also do the same since Tactics has a solid fanbase to make it justifiable
6 to 12 is basically the golden age of final fantasy, they would all benefit from remakes, other than that tactics is obviously up there.
And personally always open for a FF dissidia ressurection, they drop the ball REALLY hard with NT and that bs 3v3, could've been an amazing game but nop they blindly followed what nobody wanted.
A remake of Duodecim would be amazing but I would be happy if Square. Would. Effing. Put. It. In. The. PS Store already. WHY they haven't done that when most, if not all of their PSP titles are there baffles me to this day. Come on, Square. You have no excuse. My PSP is at the end of its playable life with the joystick showing wear and tear. Just put the game on the Store so can play it via my PS4.
I wanted to like NT. I really did but they made it a chore to unlock the story. It killed any enjoyment I would've gotten from it.
Before video starts my list would be 4, 6 and 9 with possibly 8.
