If everything is pre determined, then the action of me not trying to identify with my ego is also pre determined. Why does he say use your free will to not identify with your ego if there is no free will at all?
Ramana Maharshi only says that the actions of this body are pre-determined. He does not say there is no free-will at all. He explains that even though “You” are not the body, you have wrongly identified yourSelf with the body, and that the ego (the I-Thought) is the cause for this ignorance, and that free-will can be used to remove this ignorance and Realize your Real Blissful Self.
In fact, (as is narrated in this video at the end), He says : “An individual can use Freewill in two ways. The first way is, one is always free not to identify oneself with the body and not be affected by the pleasures or pains consequent on the body’s activities. And the second way is to direct Freewill in the right channel, which is to turn within, enquire and find out to whom destiny or freewill matters, abide in it and be at peace.”

In bhgvatgeeta it's cleary states we have free will..it's our karma which is everything..

@@hiteshpasi6590it's Krishna words sir ..we have free will it's jewel given by God...in which law of karma operates.
Geeta is about karma phala tyaga( not just karma). Everytime Sri Krishna paramatma says ' ... the one who dosnt think about the fruit of his duty and karma...' The free will part is whether you intend the fruits of it or not.
If you are going with the idea of good/bad karma produces good/bad fruit, you are aiming on next lives according to your karma ( intentionally doing good to get a better fruit in this or next life)
If you do karma as a sacrifice to the creation and God and not expect, you are out of karma cycle... this is what Maharshi and Geeta both say.
When you detach yourself from the fruit of your karma, you are a reaching God ( and mukti from life cycles).
