    These recordings are from live Satsangs at Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi Centre in Melbourne, Australia. Satsangs are conducted by Dr Sanjay Raghav & pointers during the Satsang are compiled by Dr Vidya Narasimhan. Sometimes during Satsangs Shlokas/Mantra recital by Vedantin Neelakantan ji.
    If you wish to join live online Satsang, please join through the Satsang page on the Conscious Circle website (www.consciousc....
    Satsang is a Sanskrit term derived from two roots: sat meaning "true’" and sangha meaning community, company, or association. It can be translated as "associating with good people" or simply "being in the company of truth," and refers to the act of gathering with Sattvic-minded, uplifting beings, especially spiritual seekers.
    Satsang is different from any course or lecture because the energy field in it allows for clarity, stillness, and expanded awareness to be experienced by those who seek it.
    Whenever something increases your awareness of the Truth, it opens your Heart and quiets your mind.
    Satsang is one of the most effective means of transcending your mind and staying in the egoless state which can be called enlightenment, liberation, freedom, moksha, nirvana or simply abiding in Self.
    We call our Satsang lovingly as Bhagavan Satsang as they are all due to his grace, Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi.
    According to Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi Satsang means only Atma Sang(Association with Self). Those who are trying to be in Self can come in the company of realized beings/Sadhus/Saints/Sages and that is also Satsang. Those who come in the company of Jivanmuktas also become Jivanmuktas.
    Bhagavan explained the importance of Satsang by quoting Tayumanuvar, Suta Samhita, and Kaivalya Navanitam.
    Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi is widely thought of as one of the most outstanding Indian spiritual teachers of recent times. Having attained enlightenment at the age of 16, he was drawn to the holy mountain of Arunachala in southern India and remained there for the rest of his life. Arunachala mountain itself is considered to be self-manifested Lingam, an incarnation of Lord Shiva. Just by looking at it with reverence liberation will happen.
    Attracted by his stillness, quietness, and teachings, thousands sought his guidance on issues ranging from the nature of God to daily life.
    The philosophy of Advaita or Non-Duality has become, along with Buddhism, one of the most popular spiritual paths being pursued by those interested in enlightenment today. During the past three decades, Advaita has become more widely recognized in the West through the ever-growing popularity of Ramana Maharshi. His point of view has for its aim Self-realization. The central path taught in this philosophy is the inquiry into the nature of Self, the content of the notional 'I-thought'. Carl Jung wrote of Ramana: “Sri Ramana is a true son of the Indian earth. He is genuine and, in addition to that, something quite phenomenal. In India, he is the whitest spot in a white space. What we find in the life and teachings of Sri Ramana is the purest of India; with its breath of world-liberated and liberating humanity, it is a chant of millenniums.”
    Om Peace Peace Peace.

    Act from Awareness. As the Self. We don't always need to sit back passively. Sometimes action needs to happen. But still stay as Awareness and then let action happen by itself. Without ego. There is still a measure of responsibility needed sometimes. Awareness is not always a passive state. There is an intelligence that can act through us.

    Till you reach the state of jhana and thus wake out of Maya you must do social service by relieving suffering whenever you see it. But even then you must do it without ahankara, i.e., without the sense of ' I am the doer ', but with the feeling ' I am the Lord's tool' . -- Ramana Maharshi

    Namaskar! Blessings to all! It is important to understand the mind momentum gathered from thousands of years. As Sanjay said, face the consequences! I don't think we should be 'hard on ourselves' in that sense, but we should also not try to control the results from our Sadhana and want moksha on our terms, that is only another desire from ego. Personally I try to practice what Nisargadatta Maharaj once said and that is: " Don't forget to move beyond! " Or what Bruce Lee said: " Be like water! " In early stages our cultivation of compassion for ourselves and therefore for others and 100% honesty is of utter importance. And view any crisis as an inner call from Grace. Thank you deeply. Om Shanti! 🕉🙏

    So what I am hearing is doership is free will and doership is ego, and there is no doer. The doer is the illusion. Our doership is dictated by our vasana karma. So by allowing and recognizing the self we can just let the play of the world be as it’s meant to be and be in bliss ❤

    I have never had any accomplishments in my life. Everything I have was given to me. My best efforts never work out. I have tried to give up every carnal desire and as soon as I get one thing under control something else pops up. When it comes to living a pure life I am completely powerless. I don't work anymore and I know very few people and I spend my days sitting in my house contemplating God. I have come to understand that the person I am in the depths of my heart is my true nature that is One with God but I still identify with this ego, I feel like I am the ego and that is why I am powerless. There is absolutely nothing I can do for myself so I just sit here. I am not in control of anything at all. My best efforts come to naught.

    until the Self pulls you in you won't really realise that things happen by themselves. just focus on self realisation. When the Self has pulled you in then you will see thibgs happen by themself. The body will e doing this and that without you thinking or 'doing' which is thinking. 'Thought' comes before and during all 'doing' by ego. when there are no thoughts still the actions go on. But here is the difference, the body won't be doing as much. you will surprised how much uneccasary action the Ego creates. when you are Self you won't even know how this or that is happening you are just enjoting the bliss. really dont think about these things as long as ego is there you will have some sense of doership. this goes with the ego.

    Actions happen, deeds are done but there is no doer there of. Life as we know it is a complete whole with its ups and downs. Only problem is we like the ups and not the downs. I can feel the pain of the gentleman asking the question. As Ramesh Balsekar Ji says - do what needs to be done thinking you have all the free will and then have the understanding that whatever is the result is the Gods will. Om tat sat.

      Do with ego? Or without? That's the most important part which might be overlooked by many of us.... Does both have different outcomes for the given situation?? These are the things to ponder upon.... 🙏❤️

    • @monikavarma4
      @monikavarma4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@asmallabadi ego as I understand is the sense of ‘I’ which is required to do any action. Using the body and mind as an instrument to do action but understanding that inspiration to do any action is coming from universe/god is the way to go. Definitely pride should not be there. An action done with pride and sense of doership will have a different effect than done otherwise 🌸🙏🏻

    • @asmallabadi
      @asmallabadi ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@monikavarma4 it's impossible for one to do what is right in his heart is wrong for someone else... If it is then it's definitely coming from the Ego! There is saying, in order to choose between what's right and being kind, one should always choose being kind which is always right... There is a subtle difference and one has to be very careful as the words might often mislead people if it's not cleared properly... 🙏❤️

    Based on my reading of David Godman's book on Ramana, I've had a few difficulties. If the Self is the Doer of all actions, and we're deluded to think we are the doers, then what Hitler did was prompted by the Self. All of the world's atrocities, then, are the actions of the Self. Now you could say, following Ramana, that the Self is beyond our ethical understanding; it is beyond our notions of "good" and "evil". If so, I'm not sure I see the practical implications of it, because in our daily lives we need to navigate, to discriminate on the basis of ethical conventions. What the Self "does" holds no place, say, in a court of law when criminals must be sentenced. From my understanding of Ramana, our only freedom consists in turning inward and seeing to Whom or What the thoughts appear. The practice of self-inquiry eventually leads to the Self. Along the way we discover that the ego doesn't actually exist; it is a phantom.
    The notion that the Self is the Doer of all, that we are deluded in thinking we're the doers of anything, is one I don't accept. It leads to insurmountable difficulties. On the contrary, like Jiddu Krishnamurti, I think that our confusion and disorder are a sign that we are very much out of touch with the Ground, or whatever name you choose to give it ("Tao"). In other words, we have no relationship to the Ground insofar as we are in confusion and disorder. So Hitler, in this instance, has no relationship to the Ground. A greedy or envious or violent person has no relationship to It either - and not because he thinks he's the doer of violent actions, but because violence suggests some form of confusion, some sign of self-centered, divisive activity which separates you from me. Clearly, if I see that you and I are one, that we're basically the same notwithstanding superficial differences, I wouldn't act violently toward you, because in doing so, I would be harming myself. So the violent action is a byproduct, or result, of divisive thinking. The confusion lies NOT in my thinking that I am the doer of violent action.
    Now I'm well aware that some people may question my use of the word "relationship", since, according to Ramana, there is only God or the Self. But my use of the word "relationship" is predicated upon an initial understanding of Ramana's views; it is not based on realization. One must bear in mind that there are practical considerations to weigh in our world. Discrimination, weighing the good and bad, ethical and unethical, is inescapable so long as we live on this planet. That being said, the word "relationship", even if it is not ultimately true, has practical value because we live in a dualistic world. And I feel that much of what we do is OUT of harmony with the cosmic order.

      I am really struggling with this. On one hand it has been said that not a leaf moves without God’s will, at the same time in Bhakti Yoga, the establish again and again about right action, and say we have the choice to do bhajan , burn our karmas , and God will then establish himself in our heart, following which any action that comes through us will be God’s actions.

    My mom took three shots of the poison as well. They pulled a 12-inch long amyloid blood clot out of her after having a stroke. She is now paralyzed on half of her body and my wife and I are taking care of her. Amyloid blood clots only happen with two very specific and rare diseases and the poison shot as well. Sad how many people fell for this.

    Sometimes you don’t even understand the sense of doership in situations.. when you are victims of abuse ( physical / sexual / mental) or violence.. when you are at the receiving end of tragedies.. or may be accidental things.. you satisfy yourself with karma theory or may be it was predestined… your faith shakes .. not sure in ego self or even the SELF which chooses to sport the event in your body .. you don’t recognise who is grieving here.. sometimes you won’t understand where are you at.. there are no stages in sadhna .. have you ever seen this world closely .. even Mahakali is dressed up and sold in a temple .. the all pervading consciousness packed in a cage .. there are no stages to achieve here .. can’t be done by mere dry passive observation.. because even that is done by mind.. it can only be done with Love .. and quickly be done with love.. when you are surrounded by temporary situations .. love stronger …allow that ego to only love all pervading and put a reign on it with love.. because it is the only emotion which doesnt seek any proof of validation .. it is selfless and absolute. When you surrender with love your pure self wouldn’t ever get tainted with anything .. allow the drama to happen because you love .. you are love ! And you are loved!
