  • After the video explaining what I like about using Fujifilm equipment, a couple of people asked about making a recommendation, especially for someone who is not totally sure they want to make the jump to Fujifilm. Admittedly, Fujifilm cameras with their use of command dials are different from a lot of contemporary digital cameras that use PSAM dial and menus to control the camera. In this video I talk about getting into Fujifilm gear without breaking the bank. I recommend looking at older, used X-T cameras, such as the X-T1 or X-T2 and also picking up one of Fujifilm’s kit lenses, like the XF18-55mm F2.8-4 R LM OIS or the XF16-80mm F4 R OIS WR to get started with an affordable, high quality Fujifilm camera and lens.

Sensor is not larger between X-T1 and X-T2 -- they're the same APS-C size. The number of megapixels is different however.

You are correct. I guess I was being sloppy and conflated megapixels and actual size of the sensor. They both have a APS-C sensor, but the X-T1 has a 16 MP sensor while the X-T2 has a 24 MP Sensor. Thanks.

Really helpful video. Thank you. I’m trying to choose between xt3 and xh1 for my first fuji camera. I am interested in photography only. Have you git any experience with thise two?

I'm familiar with them, but I haven't used either extensively. I considered both (and the X-T4) a few years ago, but ultimately went with the X-S10 (primarily because of the price). With similar specs, the difference is really about the ergonomics and controls. I like the grip of the X-H1 and that it has in body stabilization. The X-T3 is a little smaller and lighter. I like that because i just carry mine around (with a wrist strap). After using the different designs or styles, I really like the X-T series with the more 'retro' look.

The best entry level camera for everyone is the Fujifilm GFX100 Mark II.

I suppose that is true if you are trying to get into the professional product photography business ... and you have buckets of money .
