This video is a masterpiece that I have watched more than 100 times coming from Oslo, Norway. Every time I hear the KORK Orchestra begin playing, I feel a surge of emotion because I know what is coming next: the most amazing rendition of Unchained Melody by the incomparable Angelina Jordan. She has a voice of an angel and a talent beyond words. Unchained Melody Nobel Peace Prize 2023 Some ask why Angelina Jordan would pick Unchained Melody for this event, Narges Mohammadi, the Iranian human rights activist who received the prestigious award remains in Iran. One of the most popular and enduring love songs of all time, Unchained Melody, has a surprising origin. It was composed for a 1955 film called Unchained, which tells the story of a man who is incarcerated for a crime he did not commit. He yearns to be free and reunite with his wife and children, who are waiting for him outside. Angelina won Norways Got Talent at 8 years old, her performance of Bohemian Rhapsody on A GTC she did receive the Golden Buzzer, and the Band Queen were so impressed with Angelina’s rendition of their classic song, The guys from Queen gave Angelina the copyright to her arrangement of Bohemian Rhapsody, Angelina has around 200 upgrades of songs and around 13 original songs, she is a phenomenal artist, Angelina plays piano and Guitar and speaks several languages fluently, great reaction thanks!

Rob Christie Republic Records Studio Director at Universal Music Group Manhattan Beach, California is Angelina's A&R person, and he has been working with AJ since she signed with the largest record company in the world at the age of 14, three years ago. Rob was the MC of AJ Christmas Show that aired Dec 23, of 21. AJ’s Christmas Show that live-streamed on Dec 23 of 21 had some of the most important musicians of our time: Frank Sinatra's drummer for 6 years, and sun in-law of the late Henry Mancini, Greg Field has won 9 Grammys, and the bass player, Chuck Berghofer who also played for Sinatra for 6 years, and toured with Barbara Streisand, accompanied AJ on her Christmas Show, and they stated that she had the "storytelling ability of the greats, Streisand, Fitzgerald, Vaughan, including Sinatra, to name a few. The main pianist, a five-time nominated for Grammys, Shelly Berg, stated in all his years working with the greatest vocalist, he had never encountered a talent like AJ. Did I forget to mention Jimmy Z, the famous Sax Player who worked with Rod Steward, Etta James, the Eurythmics, and Doctor Dre, was part of the band for the show? Jimmy stated that AJ was the best he has ever played for. AJ now lives in West Hollywood in Los Angeles, where the record company Republic Records has built a separate music studio for her. She states; "I feel incredibly lucky to have been signed by one of the biggest record companies in the world. I have my own studio where I make my own music. Born Angelina Jordan Astar on January 10, 2006 in Oslo, Norway to her Norwegian mother, Sara Astar and her Swedish father, Gerry Christian Slattman.
Angelina started singing around 18 months of age, after listening to Whitney Houston on TH-cam. She quickly became obsessed with listening to music videos and her maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani got Angelina interested in classic jazz.
Mery Zamani is Iranian and was a prodigy as an artist and poet while growing up in Iran. Angelina attended the Oslo Waldorf School and participated in the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program, where starting around age 4, she had training in music but no vocal training. Her teachers were smart enough to not attempt to change what she was doing vocally. More recently she along with her grandmother have designed and made the clothing she wears on stage.
Why Angelina always performs barefoot At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true. Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate.
At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East. PLEASE PURCHASE Angelina’s book from her merchandise store on her official website, angelinajordanofficial Angelina, at age 6 and 7, did record a few songs in a recording studio at her school, most notably “I Who Have Nothing”, a truly remarkable performance for a 7 year old. At age 7, Angelina’s audition on Norway’s Got Talent, was a cover of Billie Holiday’s “Gloomy Sunday”, a song which was banned by a number of European countries during World War II because authorities worried the song would increase the suicide rate. Truly bizarre that this is the song to launch the career of a child musical prodigy. One of the judges on NGT cried. Angelina had turned 8 years old for her next performance on NGT, covering Billie Holiday’s “I’m a Fool to Want You” singing acapella which was required by NGT unless the singer also played an instrument while singing. This was the Judge’s cut round of the competition and was not performed in front of an audience. In the Semi Final round of NGT, Angelina sang “Bang Bang” which was written by Sonny Bono and was first performed by his wife Cher but is best known sung by Nancy Sinatra. The improvement in each performance is incredible even though there were only a couple months between them. In the Finals, Angelina did a cover of George Gershwin’s, “Summertime” and won the contest, capturing 46% of the votes from the ten finalists. When asked what she would like to do with the prize money she won (500,000 kroner or about $80,000), Angelina replied, “I want to give it to the poor children”. Angelina had become a star in her native Norway and her videos on TH-cam went viral. She gave a few concerts during the summer of 2014 while 8 years old. In December 2014, Angelina realized a life-long desire to sing at the Save the Children's Peace Prize Celebration which is part of the Noble Peace Prize celebration. Angelina’s family took her to United States, Brazil, Germany, France, United Kingdom, Russia, South Korea, Singapore among other corners of Earth, to perform for heads of state and to help raise money for charity. All before Angelina turned 14. At age 9, Angelina recorded a music video covering the 1956 Jay Hawkin’s classic, “I Put a Spell On You”. The video begins by showing Angelina writing her “wishes” for how she wants to perform the song. Angelina has always created her own arrangements for her cover songs. At age 10 and just a week before her 11th birthday, Angelina recorded a demo of “I’m Still Holding Out for You”. Her family never pursued having that recording officially released but someone leaked it on a TH-cam video. Thankfully, everyone involved with that song is now ok with the leaked version. Many angels (fans) believe this is one of Angelina’s best performances. When Angelina was 11, she performed a number of concerts in Norway with a jazz/rock band. Those concerts included up to 14 songs, each remarkably performed. Angelina seems to be at her best when on stage, never nervous, only 100% confident. Also at age 11, Angelina recorded her “It’s Magic” album which has, at times, been in the top 10 best selling jazz albums. On June 27, 2018, at age 12, Jordan performed Frank Sinatra “Fly Me to the Moon” for Quincy Jones in The O2 Arena in London. She has said that was the high point of her young career which was already in it’s 6th year. During 2018, Angelina lost her paternal grandfather, her friend Avicii and one of her idols, Aretha Franklin. She did a moving tribute for each. In 2019, Angelina accepted an invitation to compete in the 2nd season of America’s Got Talent (AGT), The Champions. She had, since age 3, wanted to perform for Simon Cowell and she earned his praise with her genius arrangement of “Bohemian Rhapsody”. The surviving members of Queen loved it so much they put a link to it on their Twitter. Angelina was eliminated after covering Elton John’s “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road”. Angelina’s family refused to sign any agreement with AGT. Angelina, before age 14, had covered more than 130 songs from 80 different artists, spanning at least 8 genres, all of which are available on TH-cam. Angelina has always made changes to each song she covers and often her version is preferred over the original. On TH-cam, search on The Complete Works of Angelina Jordan as Rusty Shackleford has put all songs in one file and has a complete playlist in the description of that video. The pandemic hit shortly after her performances on AGT and likely caused a change of plans by her family, most notably her Uncle Michael who is her manager. Her family agreed to a contract with Republic Records in August 2020. Republic Records declared Angelina Jordan their highest priority new artist. Reportedly her family requested Republic to allow her as normal a childhood as possible and therefore have yet to fully promote her. During the pandemic, Angelina was often seen buying meals for the homeless on the streets of Los Angeles. In November 2020, Angelina released “Million Miles” which she wrote after the passing of her beloved maternal grandfather. She dedicated the song to anyone who has ever lost a loved one. Angelina had previously released, 3 other original songs: “What is Life”, “Oslo” and “Shield” In April 2021, her original “7th Heaven” was released. A jazzy, danceable, inspiring song. Angelina has posted numerous short performances on Tik Tok and Instagram. Angelina had concerts in Norway in July 2022. In December 2022, Angelina performed at the Asian American Awards in Los Angeles. On 2/27/23, Angelina performed at the FIFA Awards ceremony in Paris, France, with a viewing audience in the millions. On 10/27/23 she released her new orginal singiel “Our Time”. In November 2023, she was presented as a debutante at Le Bal des débutantes in Paris. Angelina Sings Like a Diva
“I Have Nothing” is one of the iconic pieces in Whitney Houston’s repertoire that was described by commentators as “untouchable”, “bombastic and ultra-challenging”, “scorcher of a ballad”. It features several key changes and the highest note of F5 with chest voice. Over the years it has become the Mecca for vocal athletes who push their belting relentlessly to outrange Whitney, like a bunch of alpinists vying to conquer Mount Everest.
Angelina covered “I Have Nothing” on a rather casual occasion in 2019. It was impressive enough to have accumulated 14 million views on her cover channel. Three years later, Angelina decided to reprise the song at the Allsang på Grensen. It became a smash hit for the concert, gathering over 1 million TH-cam views in a few weeks, which was possibly the reason that Angelina released a proper studio version Saturday night to the great satisfaction of her loyal fans.
Angelina’s new rendition remains true to the original except one crucial element - she lowers the key from G Major to F Major. The Angelina that I know never makes such decision without an artistic purpose, and it quickly dawns on me what she intends to do. Singing from a lower larynx position at a lower key, she brings her amazing chest resonance to bear, which combined with her breathiness, quivering vibrato and somber undertone, produces a soul-stirring vocal ensemble with incredible depth and texture.
Her vocal choices change the dynamic completely. It may be Whitney’s song to begin with, but it’s now her story to tell, and she tells it with such intensity and gravitas that Whitney’s original pales in comparison. There is palpable pain and despair in every word of the pre-chorus and the chorus she sings with heart-breaking abandon. It was not until I read about her dedicating.

to go into the stratosphere 'effortlessly' doing a Whitney song and then be able
to switch gears totally and perform 'How Great Thou Art' in a super-low
register that sustains a continuous low key that even Elvis didn't do when he
performed the song in a similar key. This girl is beyond extraordinary, and
especially when you factor in that she was so young when she performed
both songs mentioned.
I think I have heard How Great Thou Art from one other artist before, but it's been so long I forgot how it sounds. I do have that one on the list. I also haven't heard Elvis cover it. I've only heard a couple of songs by him

Angelina is the best there ever has been either male or female, she plays five musical instruments, speaks five languages, english is her second language. She writes books, arranges her songs, writes songs, instructs orchestras. Absolutely amzing person and a wonderful generous human being who raises millions for charities.

She can blow the roof off when it matters, see " The show must go on". Her forte is soft raspy runs that may or may not raise octaves. Her 16 year old studio performance of " l have nothing"uses deep complex layering. She is a jazz artist in application, and phrasing ,see" Billie Jean". She is IMO the most complex young female singer today ..She doesn't show boat, she is an artist in purist sense.

Now I need you to react to her most recent performance, which happened on December 11th, when she performed "Unchained Melody" at the Nobel Peace Prize concert here in Norway. If you do, I suggest you go with the video on Boris Palenovski's channel. He is a BIG Angelina fan , and I think also a friend of her family. Many fans say that it is Angelina's best performance to date. The performance made her the only artist to perform twice on the concert before the age of 18. (She turned 18 on January 10th)

Yes she is. With this new generation of musicians (pretty much any artist or band from 2013 onward), she is definitely at the top, along with Dimash. Both artists are just unreal with their vocals
She won Norway's got Talent at 8 yrs. old. All through her career, she is amazing. At 18, her voice is absolutely unique and incredible. She plays guitar (Suspicious Minds) and piano (Wicked Games) and a couple of other instruments that someone will have to help me with. Superstar ❤🌟

Angelina has stated that she has written about 100 songs that have yet to be released. Her songs are taken from her Journal writings. When she was 10/11 she rewrote the Lyrics to Amy Winehouse's Back to Black and Rehab to make them more age-appropriate. Angelina is all in when she sings and always totally commits to the emotions of the lyrics. Since she was 7 she could somehow convey those emotions to the listener.

Ace, thanks for introducing TwinklyTor to Angelina Jordan. All of Angelina's angels are inspired to share, the love they feel from her music, to other people. This song of course centers around the power and high notes, as Whitney Houston was among the very best with those skills. I believe Angelina is the ultimate story teller and shines most in songs where she can use the colors of her voice with intricate vocal choices to make us feel like we are part of the story. Hopefully you will have TwinklyTor back for another Angelina performance and I suggest "Suspicious Minds".

This was a great rendition but, you really need to listen to her studio version when Angelina was 17. You will be astounded at the growth in her voice and artistry. AJ won Norways got talent at 8 years old.

First of all, this is not a natural pitch for her but she sings it in the same key as Whitney, something Whitney never does live and she kills it, even if she has to reach her limits. This is a remarkable performance but she never sings it in this key again. 😎

check out a song called "I who have nothing", different song then this one which she recorded in one take at age six. Her talent was obvious even then. Angelina covers a lot of the greats, Adele, Beyonce, Rihanna, Amy Winehouse, Lana Del Ray, Etta Jones, Billie Holliday, Elvis, Queen, Michael Jackson, John Legend and many many more. Angelina always pays respect to the original artist but it is like she shows them how song should be sung. Queen were so impressed by her that they lifted copyright on Bohemian Rhapsody so she could record it and also wanted her to perform in their band. She also does a cover of The Show Must Go On, which is absolutely outstanding. Avicii adored her and she also adored him. She is a gift from god.
