Do anyone really mismatched the use of the drawing mechanic? i don't recall a single time where i couldn't get the weapon i was drawing for and even if you do manage to get it wrong on the first try, you still have a window long enough to re-drawn whatever move you want to use. Saying that the drawn mechanic is also worst due to lack of touch-stylus like input is also something that's utterly ridiculously in my opinion. Even Hideki Kamiya at some point stated that it was a better idea to use the analog stick. What hurts this game the most and i'm surprised that the review doesn't even mentioned it, it's clearly the poor performance framerate pacing, and camera issues. It actually runs worse on switch at some moments and even on PC it released with the frame pacing problems that had to be fixed by community patches due to Platinum's bad coding. The game also have camera glitches at any resolution up to 2K (and wide screen as well). Bottom line is: TW101 still suffers of technical issues on anything but PS4 Pro/PC (thanks to the community effors), but the gameplay it's still unmatched even within P* own catalog. For my money personally, the game still plays wonderfully and everything else that provides the games personality is also still there, It's still a great game, even better than the Wii U version, but definitely not recommended if you aren't the type of player who likes to learn how to play a game by spending hours to perfection, and to get Pure Platinum rankings. The Wonderful 101 is next only to Metal Gear Rising Revengeance, and the first Bayonetta. Every other game doesn't come close in terms of gameplay and you could argue, overall presentation

These inaccurate and difficult drawing inputs are not supposed to be inaccurate and difficult. These things were also not updated for this re-release even though they would've needed it. You're behaving emotionally and immaturely, flat out ignoring legit criticism. Come back when you're rational.
@@suplextrain i have a bunch of points of criticism for the game, but the claim that the drawing is inaccurate IS ITSELF inaccurate. if the weapon you wanted is not coming out, you fucked up and its not the game's fault. the fact that its difficult is only a negative for scrub players and reviewers. the developers know its difficult at first. thats why the quick time events exist so you can lern them.
@@Bobsss64 Pretty much everything in regards to the controls, on-boarding, UI and camera is flat out bad in this game. What's even worse is with this "remaster" pretty much 0 effort was made to optimize and tweak it for PC/Xbox/PS4. That includes the clunky drawing. Also your comparison to fighting game inputs is strange because they're precise. Like extremely precise. To do a DP you press 623, each of them exact directions. In 101 when you draw with the stick you're trying to draw to a contextual camera view with a stick giving constant input because of time (so it's not counting exact motion, it feeds constant input depending on the location of the stick). The result is less intuitive and clunky controls. So while fighting games have more complicated inputs, the control the player has is superior. And it's one thing if you can deal with problems a game has, but trying to dismiss them or play them off only makes you come across as emotionally biased.
Ususually due to the complexity of the inputs themselves & not the game's inability to properly recognize/read them them. W101 has a bad habit of rejecting/not recognizing drawings for the smallest reasons. You're suppose to draw a circle for a fist... and if that circle is the slightest bit lopside or doesn't stops short of the start with the start or overshoots it slightly... it rejects. Hell sometimes you get it right and it STILL rejects it for whatever reason. It's ridiculously finicky... and in the heat of battle it gets you killed. It's the equivalent of a fighting game having unresponsive controls & finicky special inputs that aren't recognized... or playing a fighting game with motion controls (like on the wii or kinect) where it misreads your inputs. I love the game... but this is ONE thing it flat out faceplanted on, and needed fixing/updating. Unfortunately it looks like they didn't bother.
I can tell that the reviewer didn't have a lot of time to get going at the combat because the touch screen is objectively the wrong way to play this game
I'm noticing a pattern with not all, but most of the reviews for the Remastered version, in that they complain of having to use to the right stick to draw the symbols for the Unite Morphs, even though as Kamiya said himself that is the ideal way to play, as you can concentrate more on what's happening around you in key battle scenarios, especially while fighting Prince Vorkken, as well as execute Unite Morphs quicker that taking your hands off the buttons just to draw the symbols with a stylus or finger. Now what I personally don't get is why people that reviewed the original Wii-U version didn't even so much as mention the right stick's apparent difficulty in mastering as opposed to drawing on a screen, which can take you out of the moment, which can leave you open to attack from a tank or turtle or dragon or any other enemy for that matter! And that's another thing, this guy as well as so many others seem to think that using the right stick is a new "limitation" or "crutch" put in place so that the game can accommodate the new consoles and platforms, clearly ignorant of the fact that this feature was available in the original version, and no one gave a flying fart, in fact as with many people in this comment section, most people who played it on the Wii-U actually PREFERRED using the right stick to the gamepad, because it was better in the long term, and the people who bitch about it clearly haven't tried hard enough to get their hand adjusted to drawing with the right stick, I can do it, and I just got the game a few days ago, SO STOP COMPLAINING!!! Thank you, I'm sure most of not all of you down in the comment section below already addressed most of the stuff I just said now, sorry, just wanted to voice my opinion, like you all have.
By the way when I said that even Kamiya said himself using the right stick was ideal, I got it from another review I got, it was from an Irish guy and was 30 minutes long!! Still I found it to be very insightful and in depth, and even goes on to explain the reason for using the right stick despite having a screen option available, his name is Matthew something, just look for a video that says "Wonderful 101 Review" and should also say somewhere it's around 37 minutes long, it's long but good, I suggest you check it out, to see how a pro reviews a game, IGN even commented on it so you know it's good
For a "remaster" this seems alot more like a port. Overpriced on Steam when they really didnt fix much, let alone added to it. Should've been no more than 15$. This is the most I've seen folks talk about the game, which is also sad.
I'm not gonna lie, it's hard at first to use the Right analog but you get used to it and can really easily pick up on easy ways to draw. I played the entire game with the right analog and had barely any issues
I've not experience near as much difficulty playing and controlling this game. I would recommend this game if you like action arcade challenge type games.
there's absolutely no way the reviewer got even halfway through the game, enemies attacking from outside the screen is a problem? When there's clear audio cues you can listen to?
How the hell am I supposed to play this with a screen protector and not taking it off? My circles and lines come out nearly perpendicular to what I want it to
This is a perfectly fun game. Sure, the camera could benefit from better placement sometimes and yes, the drawing of the unite morphs can be a bit fiddly (although I’ve found I’ve learned and overcome the eccentricities in this area). This is a solid 7.5, maybe even an 8. Good fun.
