At 70- I considered my knowledge a lost cause/ you’re so clear and articulate. I’m so grateful, besides, I love an older teacher with patience & knowledge. Gratefully Elizabeth
This is great! I’m 67 and am coming late in the day to all this. It’s hard to find someone who has the patience and the ability to explain things clearly. I found this so helpful. I subscribed after watching the first few minutes!
Finally, we have an instructor that is not focussed on showing off skills by performing each task at double speed. In my observation this has been a stand out problem since computers first hit our desks years ago. Thank you for explaining the procedures at a speed which can easily be comprehended and understood by most people. Many other so called instructors could take a lesson from your methods. Thank you
I’m really tech savvy and I’m the go to guy in my family for tech problems. But even being a self professed nerd, I still learnt something in this video! I really like your presentation style. My daughter is about to be given her first iPhone (hand me down), your channel is going to be the first channel I point her to in learning to use it. Subbed. Thanks!
Like you I'm the family tech guy but my tech background comes from the mainframe world. I'm an early adopter of the PC back in the MS DOS and PC DOS days but I'm 85 now and the tech world has progressed WAY past where I was when I retired so I'm basically needing to learn as fast as I can like everyone else just to keep up. I just discovered this channel and it's like gold! Thanks to Ellen for presenting technical information in a well thought out style that's easily absorbed. Good job!
Wow! I did not know most of this. All these years I always thought the notes app was to write down grocery shopping lists or where we parked our cars. Thank you!
Wow Ellen I was born in the 50’s and have to ask my grandchildren to teach me all this new technology. Now that I have found you. I will be able to teach them a few things that they don’t even know! Thank you.
Thank you Ellen. I'm 90 and you are one of the best teachers I have had in the field of IOS. Thank you for your valuable help. You simplified with clarity the ability of a 90 year old to scan and send in PDF form.
Wow! This is so cool. I didn't even know these options were there. I was using another app to scan then go back and forth. Thank you so much for the info and I LOVE your presentations. No bling, no drama, no fluff, no clickbait, just pure info and a calm voice.
Despite having used the iPad since the first one, having worked with computers since 1964, and having been a Professor in Engineering, you taught me something new! Great video! Even an old goat like me can learn something new!
Love that you don’t shout or talk a million miles per hour 😊. Such clear and helpful tips. I have an iPhone 15 pro max which I got mainly for the camera and and iPad Air but I know I’m missing out on so many features. Can’t wait to explore your back catalogue. Very excited 🎉
I have just found this in my feed and it is fantastic! So clear and at a great speed. You thanked us for watching but I want to thank you for making such a good clear video. I’ve subscribed😊
I have 55 years in computers but I learn stuff new each day. It helps to practice this quick scan stuff so you can do it on the fly when youre on the phone or some other distracting circumstance.
I'll bet you are a retired teacher with years of experience. The best ones speaking slowly and clearly. Great job done and I will definitely subscribe.
Hi From France - Thank you so much for taking the time to explain these features - Note for all the people mentioning they are old and so happy to find your channel : stop thinking you are old and please be aware these tools are complex and need explanations. I am 57, ex CEO of a decent size company in the silicon valley tech industry, and I am still very glad to find such channel and these very clear « stepbystep » explanations. You are as smart as anyone, how old you are ; but these modern tools need clear tutorial, like this one. Thanks again
Hello from Melbourne, Florida, and Iowa.. I’m a Snowbird and I travel quite a bit.. I’ve been using my iPhone 13. Looks like I need to get a 15…. I scan quite a bit to Dropbox. Your tip about clicking auto to manual is a tremendous lifesaver.. in the past, I’ve just been trying to hurry with my scans and I couldn’t figure out why I had to go so fast to get a good scan…. your tip on clicking the auto button to manual. Wow it made a big big difference. Keep coming out with all your new tips for people like me you’re great….
I just happen upon your video and I am so grateful because this is something I truly truly need. Thank you so much for taking your time and not rushing through. You gave concise directions that I think I may be able to follow. Thanks again.
I'm so glad I discovered your TH-cam video. You have such a clear description of every step, a calm demeanor, and excellent pacing! I'll be watching many more of your videos! Thank you!!!
Hi Ellen -- I very much appreciate your intelligent, informative, straightforward approach to help this 69-year-old retiree maximize iPad and iPhone functions. You have a new subscriber. 😊
What are breath of fresh air? Is someone closer to my age explaining what needs to be done in a nice slow rhythm thank you so much. I really appreciate our subscribe and will continue to watch your videos. I’m gonna send it to my mother.
Thanks for posting this video. I stumbled onto it. Very well explained and easy to follow. I’m 70 years old and appreciate it. Thanks and I’ve subscribed.
This is the first of your videos that I’ve ever seen. The most outstanding feature of your video is that you talk slow enough so that us older folks can follow you. Thank you so much for that. Keep up the good work..😊
I do a lot of virtual training on digital technology and can say that this instructor is outstanding. Clear, concise, well-paced. Great directionals (what’s where). As a fellow senior, I truly appreciate another senior teaching us about digital technology.
I am so very impressed! This is just what I need. I don’t mind asking for help. I just get tired of the comments when I ask the third time how to do something. I watched your video a few times and never got a snarky comment about my memory. Thank you.
For the last 15 years I have been using Notes App for grocery list. I am amazed. I have been using my Brother copy machine and the windows app on my desktop to scan docs and save in scanned file. Then transfer to an email. Now I can text a scanned doc from my phone or IPad ! Game changer. Thank you! I love listening to your calm voice. Lovely. You have a Great gift for teaching. I subscribed and am going to watch all of your tutorials. 😊
You might want to let your viewers know that this works to send a pdf to another iPhone or via email. It doesn't work if you are trying to text a pdf from an iPhone to an Android phone. I used it today, followed your great instructions, and everything worked perfectly with the exception of trying to send it to an Android. I sent it to her email instead. Love your videos. Thanks so much for posting them. I'm learning a lot.
Thanks for sharing your experience! Are you talking about a PDF scanned into the Notes app or a PDF that’s stored on your iPhone? Notes would not be compatible with Android but a regular PDF should be. Hope that helps.
@@EllensTipsForiOSOn my iPhone I scanned several pages into Notes and then converted them to pdf as instructed. I was able to send via Text Message to another iPhone but not to an Android phone. I found out the Android phone user's email address and sent the pdf that I had scanned into Note via email. When I googled sending pdf from iPhone to Android phone I saw that it can't be done. Only iPhone to iPhone but not iPhone to Android via Text.
This was super helpful as occasionally I need to send someone a new contract for parking spaces I deal with and have no problem writing them as notes but had no idea all I had to do was print it and scan it to my phone to send out as a pdf. You earned a new subscriber today
It would depend on what you’re using it for. A picture could end up being a large file where scanning a document would be relatively small in comparison.
What a great presentation! Thank you for your clear, concise instructions without any distracting music or other nonsense. I truly appreciate your delivery and the fact that you do this at all! Amazing!
This is amazing. I’ve been a long time Apple user but I’ve never thought of using Notes to scan and convert to PDF. Okay I’ll try this next time I need to scan and send. Thank you! (I’m a new subscriber!)
This is the first time I’ve received a TH-cam recommendation for your channel. Excellent and to the point. Subscribed! I’ll check out your other videos.
Well! I wish I had seen this video yesterday, but better late than never. Thank you for these very useful and needful tips for making the most of the iPhone’s technology.
Thank you so much for this, Ellen! I've been taking simple photos of documents to save as PDFs, but this is an infinitely better method. Kudo's for staying focused on simplicity, clarity, and pacing to shorten the learning curve. I'm definitely subscribing!

This woman is a spectacular teacher! Clear, logical and precise. Thank you!

Wonderful! I love hearing that Pamela! 😀
So glad I found you. People don’t understand that our generation had phones on the wall with coiled wire attached to the receiver. 😊
Isn’t that the truth!😂 Thanks for watching.
