The preference settings can really change the way you are able to use Illustrator, and can thus change your workflow and design outcomes. Here are 8 of the most important settings I feel you need to take notice of. What preferences do *you* use in your workflow??

Thank you Satori ! Those options are in fact very cool ! I didn't know most of them. Besides, smart guides are very helpful, exceptionally when you don't want to miss out shapes while using the shape builder. Objects intersect more precisely. Thank you again ! Keep up the good work !

Any chance we get more InDesign video Tutos ?
There is so much to learn from it.
I myself try and do most of the Satori Graphic Technics with InDesign only and they work quite well but i often get lost as the biggest part of my work is for Print... but ... illustrator tips are fine as long as i can do them with InDesign !

I'm having difficulty opening up files within Adobe Illustrator that I've created on Inkscape. They go from a clean vector in Inkscape to a poor quality, pixelated version.
The diagonal lines on text, for example, are now jagged instead of a smooth line. Doesn't matter what file type I upload, .SVG or .PDF, etc.
I'm wondering if it has something to do with my settings?
I can't find the answer anywhere. Please help if you can! Thank you so much!
    Great video, btw.

Hi there, I am facing some issues with typing special characters in Illustrator CS6, earlier while typing in the text box I was able to access special characters by clicking on the keyboard shortcut from the menu bar on the top right-hand corner > show emoji & symbols > bullets/stars or pictograph or any other from the list > select the character and it used to appear in the text box next to blinking cursor, BUT NOW it is just showing a box but not the character! Although previously used special characters in the same document are still ok, and if I copy and paste them it works, but I can not add new characters, I wonder why?
Can you please suggest what must I do to get it back?
    Thanks
PS. I am still able to insert special characters in other software like Word, text edit, etc, but not in Illustrator!

Hi can you tell me how to set preferences in illustrator so that I don't have to hold down the mouse as I slide along my tool bar selections? I recently changed from a pc to a Mac and I can't find any info on how that works and I always lift up bc I thought that 1 click would hold that choice until I selected the tool I needed, but it releases. please help! thank you
