I adore this channel. I have recently started looking into the concept of mindful self-compassion. Having self compassion for oneself is quite difficult after 30 years of negative self talk

Hi there! We talk to ourselves so negatively all day long. How can we be happy if we don't learn to become best friends with ourselves? Love, peace and enlightenment to you and to all.

    You are loved.
Your current life circumstances are bettering.. you just cannot see it clearly when you're so in your own head.. but practice having faith, and take a strangers words when he tells you that you are exactly where you are meant to be in this moment. Faith is a PRACTICE. Be more gentle with your self.
    I love you.

Here Dear Thich speaks on how one can develop trust in himself. He said it is very important to have trust in himself. For that, one should not believe whatever he listens, even if it is from the best teacher, but try to find evidence. He should practice and follow the path and should find himself that, whether it is working or not... Once he finds the right path, he will develop trust in the path, consequently, he will gain trust in himself as well, that yes I know what the path is and Yes I can do it because I already am doing it, This type of trust is unshakable and will not get diluted by anything.

I suffer more when I don't do what I can to make the one I love suffer less... I am capable of doing that and you are too. The seeds of compassion are in US!!!

Here is a part of the Kalama sutra Thay mentioned 😊🙏🌸 The Buddha is talking to the Kalama people who came to question him on doubt:
"Of course you are uncertain, Kalamas. Of course you are in doubt. When there are reasons for doubt, uncertainty is born. So in this case, Kalamas, don't go by reports, by legends, by traditions, by scripture, by logical conjecture, by inference, by analogies, by agreement through pondering views, by probability, or by the thought, 'This contemplative is our teacher.' When you know for yourselves that, 'These qualities are unskillful; these qualities are blameworthy; these qualities are criticized by the wise; these qualities, when adopted & carried out, lead to harm & to suffering' - then you should abandon them.
"What do you think, Kalamas? When greed arises in a person, does it arise for welfare or for harm?"
    "For harm, venerable sir"
"And this greedy person, overcome by greed, his mind possessed by greed, kills living beings, takes what is not given, goes after another person's wife, tells lies, and induces others to do likewise, all of which is for long-term harm & suffering."
    "Yes, venerable sir."
"Now, what do you think, Kalamas? When aversion arises in a person, does it arise for welfare or for harm?"
    "For harm, venerable sir"
"And this aversive person, overcome by aversion, his mind possessed by aversion, kills living beings, takes what is not given, goes after another person's wife, tells lies, and induces others to do likewise, all of which is for long-term harm & suffering."
    "Yes, venerable sir"
"Now, what do you think, Kalamas? When delusion arises in a person, does it arise for welfare or for harm?"
    "For harm, venerable sir"
"And this deluded person, overcome by delusion, his mind possessed by delusion, kills living beings, takes what is not given, goes after another person's wife, tells lies, and induces others to do likewise, all of which is for long-term harm & suffering."
    "Yes, venerable sir."
"So what do you think, Kalamas: Are these qualities skillful or unskillful?"
    "Unskillful, venerable sir"
    "Blameworthy or blameless?"
    "Blameworthy, venerable sir."
"Criticized by the wise or praised by the wise?"
"Criticized by the wise, venerable sir"
"When adopted & carried out, do they lead to harm & to suffering, or not?"
"When adopted & carried out, they lead to harm & to suffering. That is how it appears to us."

“Trust thyself: every heart vibrates to that iron string.
Nothing is at last sacred but the integrity of your own mind. A man should learn to detect and watch that gleam of light which flashes across his mind from within, more than the lustre of the firmament of bards and sages... In every work of genius we recognize our own rejected thoughts: they come back to us with a certain alienated majesty.
The power which resides in him is new in nature, and none but he knows what that is which he can do, nor does he know until he has tried” - Emerson
