Photography to the rescue : my granddaughter lost her doll on a hike today ... we looked at the photo's on my camera, went back .... and found it ! Love your adventures. Kind regards, Guy.
Hi Henry, It is fun to see that you are using AFFORDABLE camera gear . A few of your TH-camrs colleagues have been flashing with the Hasselblad X2D ... Most of their viewers can't offerd such a camera ! Keep it simple and eat ripe bananas while shooting with « normal» camera. We love it.
Been there done that. Have a magnetic lens cap and it bumped my leg and came off. Luckily on the trek back through, the light reflected off of it and I recovered it. Another awesome video.
It's been too long since I've been into that area of the Lake District, so it was great to see you do it justice. Too many tourists think the Lakes are for bars and outdoor clothing shops and random tat; but you have really nailed the essence of what the heart of the scenic Lake District really is. Great to see your amazing shots... For my part, I consistently lose the little rubber hot-shoe protectors; to the extent that when selling a camera recently; I found six of the little critters spare in the old camera bag. Of course, the new camera eyepiece seems a bit flimsy; so I'll no doubt be buying 6 spares of that little tem too.
I enjoyed the video as usual Henry. What a great climb with fantastic scenery all the way. How amazing was that, you found your view finder rubber eye piece. I have lost mine a couple of times and never found them. Look forward to the next one.
Beautifull looking day and great scenery there Henry. Over 80k subscribers now, well on the way to the magic 100k, sure it will only be a matter of time with the style and quality of your videos that obviously relate to all of us on here. Thanks for sharing yet again.
It's not just the photography but the Geology that grabs my attention. I see those cracks/gouges in the rock surfaces and try to imagine when most of the land was under XXs feet of ice. Did visit the area in the 60s with only a few family photos of us beside a tarn or 3. Kodak Instamatic if I recall and now scanned onto a hard drive; fond memories - Thanks Henry👍
Good detective work on the rubber eye piece Henry. I was wondering why the title. :) You sure have many majestic fells to explore. Thanks for the tour!
Lyng is a common Norwegian plant that grows in dry and scanti soil, often found in the mountains. The most common of them in Norway is "røsslyng". Beautiful plant with vibrant colours. I guess the vikings has a sketchy reputation, but it's good to know that they at least can be remembered by naming parts of the landscape which they were "visiting". Tip: visit Helgelandskysten, beautiful landscapes and nice people🙂Who knows, maybe you will find some røsslyng to photograph in the foreground
Those eyecups are famed for coming off in use. The best tip I found was to use a couple of dabs of clear nail varnish on each side where it clips on and allow to dry thoroughly. That gives just enough purchase to avoid accidentally pulling it free, and as it is clear then it is invisible. All the best Henry
Great location again Henry with great pics... enjoyed the travel along the way to get to your destination.... thanks for sharing.. cheers from Australia 🦘🦘😊
Do you love this time of year Henry? I'd never had known if you hadn't said you know! 😂😂😉😉 Seriously though, I love this time of year too mate. Also, I know I've said this before, numerous times probably, but it never ceases to amaze me how you know EXACTLY where you are and where everything else is! Your sort of 'inner compass' is amazing!
We were over there in August and I managed to lose my eyepiece somewhere on the way down from Stickle Tarn, no idea where and I was too tired to go back up! At least it’s not just me and it did make me chuckle that I’d lost mine so close to where you were. Glad you found yours!
Lovely to see you out with your OM5, Henry. I was out today with mine (albeit not in the same beautiful landscape as you, but in botanic gardens) plus my newest lens, the Lumix Leica 12-60mm. It is indeed a great combination, and OMG is it sharp!!! It’s on special atm. Glad you found your viewfinder piece. Mine used to drop off my EM5iii quite easily. Will have to watch my OM5!
Hiya Henry, another grand day out thanks for sharing. Great find locating the eye cup, they're suprisingly expensive for what they are ... I keep dislodging the one on my D3500, but so far, much more by luck than judgement, each time I've managed to find it. Some more lovely images .. and really looking forward to Autumn.
Fantastic views and weather, beautiful. I lost the same plastic part and found it again, added a spot of super glue, and ordered a spare part that was not too expensive.
Great vlog Henry, my wife and I just returned from our trip to the Lake District what a beautiful place, i would just like to say thank you in one of your earlier videos you recommended going to Wast water im so pleased we did Absolutely breathtaking we will definitely be returning to the Lake District.
I'm amazed you found that eyepiece! It seems quite a common thing to lose, I've seen several reports. Fortunately, they are fairly cheap to replace from Ebay etc. I also love your enthusiasm for the hills, almost as much as for photography. In fact I watch your channel as much for the Wainrights as for the photography content to be honest.
As always Henry another great video in a stunning area of this beautiful country we live in, lost count on the number of rubber viewfinder peices I have lost over the years, and a nice surprise to see my name on the screen at the end, keep up the great work.
Glad you enjoyed it mate and thanks for the support! I’ve actually never lost one before, it seems that the one on the OM-5 does slide off quite easily
Re gear. Not so much yourself but with other YT-bers I notice that while they have the best of gear some of their best shots are taken on a drone with what must be a relatively basic camera. Makes you wonder if there is any point stressing over gear. I suspect very little. 🤔 PS - You’re right. The shot is the excuse for being out away from everyday stresses. Just enjoying the fresh air and scenery is the main event. Getting a “worldie” shot is simply a bonus.
Nice one Henry recovering your eye piece. In terms of your crisps segment, I love opening a bag of plain crisps and adding my own salt and vinegar, so much tastier 😂
Fantastic vlog this week Henry! I really felt like I was up there with you, thanks for sharing your adventure! I just picked up a secondhand micro 4/3 camera and a 12-60 lens to make the hikes a bit less of a slog, following your example! Have a great weekend!
None of the paths were "constructed" when Wainwright was walking the 214 hills...or indeed when I was doing them for the first time back in the mid 70's! Usual great video Henry, ATB Alistair 👍
Oki Brother - I find it amazing where you are in England. Had no idea you had such beautiful landscape there. Scottland = yes but not England so am amazed at the beauty. I could easily live among such beautiful background. Am a Mountain Man for certain and appreciate the fantastic energy mountains evoke. Most people do not understand that energy, but I certainly have lived it my whole life, so know it well. Brings one much closer to the Creator. Thank-You
Thank you Henry, for a lovely trip in the fantastic countryside. The Danish word for heather is "lyng", but Danish is not that far from Norwegian, so probably the same. By the way, the heather is really beautiful in Denmark this year, but we don't have the beautiful landscape to show it off at all 🤷♀️😉
Great video Henry, and great photos as well. I wanted a snack after I saw your banana, lol! Cheers! (a quick edit after watching more of the video; a lot of respect to you for making the steep climb. Class!)
you're definitely not alone loosing the rubber eyepiece, Henri ... it happened to me several times over the years, both with Olympus and Panasonic cameras ... nowadays, I secure them with a drop of "bison" seconds glue ... nice video, btw ...
There must have been a point in time where the word for the top of big hills was being considered, until one person piped up to say, "Well, we need to call it summit, or else I'll be later for my dinner". I'll er.. get my coat. Lovely day among some stunning scenery there.
Great video. Old Norse (Viking) word for female sheep = Faar: Viking word for mountain= fjall. Faarfjall over the centuries evolved into Fairfield as in Fairfield horseshoe. Every day is a school day!
Nice to see a Litter Bug picking up their trash..... :poke: Seriously, what good fortune that you found that bit of camera parts. So small it could have really slipped into a crack or something never to be seen again.
Interesting timing.... Not strictly actual camera related, but I was out on Helvellyn yesterday. It was a quick up and down from Swirls to break up a long journey south from the Isle of Skye. I did a little litterpick on the way which was awesome, but whilst chilling at the top of Lower Man I popped my phone down to the side of me..... And only realised it was no longer with me, when I was a third of the way down... 💩💩🤦♂ Mad dash back up, since it is my 'car key' as well.... But all good in the end 😌
Thank you Henry, that's really kind of you 👍👌📷 I certainly wasn't defensive, and never over gear anyway ha ha, each person to their own, thanks for the mention too, it made my day. Always been my favourite channel, the enthusiasm and passion inspire me to get out there. Thanks again and look forward to the calendar 👍
Mr. Henry Turner on his way up to Pike o’ Blisco, and on the way to 100K Subs !!!!!! Absolutely Stunning visuals here Henry! Much admiration for your infectious Personality and Your Enthusiasm. Pulled out one of your Calendars the other day, and looked through it. Good stuff. Be careful climbing on those rocks! Love how the Mic was picking up the beat of your boots! That was Uncanny and glad You found the eyecup! Stay safe and Happy Shooting! Cheers!!!!

Thanks haha - yes, very lucky indeed. Cheers for watching as always :)

Thanks for sharing again, it’s a truly stunning part of England.

Thanks very much mate :). I have a Wainwright chart with tickboxes that I keep meaning to fill out haha. Thanks for keeping track
So beautiful! I always enjoy watching your videos so much, on this way it kind of feels like being back in the mountains quite often!

I've just purchased an Olympus OM-D E-M1 mk2. Such a fantastic wee camera. Seriously impressed with micro 4/3s.
Class camera that mate yeah 👍🏻
Well done Henry another fantastic video. I liked your hip bag so much I bought one, got mine from Alpkit Keswick
Thanks mate! Love that hip pack, I don’t know they had them in Alpkit, you will love it 👍🏻
@@HenryTurnerphoto I do its like having a Kangaroo pouch its so useful even with my Tenbo rucksack on, crisps, drink ,dog treats, even takes my Z8

Just subscribed to your channel. I am an absolute beginner and want learn photography doing landscapes.
Awesome, thank you!
Keep watching, you'll learn loads !
Heather is called Ljung in swedish. Cheers from sweden
Top tip: Once they become loose a little black insulation tape wrapped around the eye piece works a treat. 😊
Great vid. What camera are u using to film yourself? The image quality is mind blowing.
Thanks mate! It is the DJI Action 4, it’s great isn’t it
@@HenryTurnerphoto amazing indeed
I don't know about Norway but Swedes say "ljung" about the heather. It sounds a bit like the word young but with a little more U in it.
Hiking food rule #1. Never bring bananas for snacks. You are correct. The Norwegian word for heather is indeed lyng.
Wow, think I am going to go here at the weekend, do you have or know of any of the best Wainwright books for Lakes you use mate?
Oh nice one mate, I just used Wainwrights guides they are brilliant
Just a bit different from last week. Glorious weather but it loked like quite a scramble at times not a leasurely hike.

According to Google, you're correct: Lyng is "heather" in old Norse. Of course I"m not Norse -- Old nor new! 😀
It's also called lyng in danish. We pronounce it løng though, but that will probably not be of any help to you :) But not ling.
Lyng is Norwegian for Heather according to google translate.
If you have to loose a piece of gear, that's it. Hard to find anything we use that would be less expensive.
Same piece constantly falls off of my GH5. I should replace it but just haven't done it yet. Been that way for years!
Left home to play footy with David Beckham ................left Pele at home.
❤
But it DOES beg the question...why are you out with just the OM-5? Kidding, of course. Sort of.
😂
Why are people so defensive over M43? They immediately think you dont like the camere even tho you bring it with you willingly
Ah he definitely didn’t mean anything negative by it mate, he put it nicely it was a fair question 👍🏻👍🏻
@HenryTurnerphoto fair enough.
