    Saskatoon punches above its weight for food and coffee. It's *much* better than Regina, even when factoring in the population difference. Little Grouse is unreal, good choice for top fine dining. Amigo's is a great dive too. I'd strongly recommend trying La Bamba for an authentic Mexican place.

    • @strangenorth
      @strangenorth  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It definitely does - I find Saskatoon in general just has a disproportionate amount of culture given its relative size, I visit at least once a year. Cool I'll check out that other Mexican place - thanks for watching and commenting!

    • @Whatdoingdog44
      @Whatdoingdog44 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's not “much” better it's slightly better but in an unbias opinion towards Regina they have come a long way in the last 15 years.

    • @strangenorth
      @strangenorth  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Whatdoingdog44 Regina's food scene has definitely improved over the years. The Copper Kettle had always been a favorite for me, and Regina pizza is some of the best I've had - I visit the original Hill Avenue Houston Pizza location whenever I'm in town. Cheers!

    Was so nice meeting you at City Perks last weekend! We actually live in Prince Albert now but we come to Saskatoon all the time, the coffee and food is so good and worth the frequent trips. We forgot to tell you about the St. Louis Ghost Train in a tiny town by PA, would love to see a ghost story video by you about that! :) Sask also has a great series of books called Ghost Stories of Saskatchewan. A childhood fave of mine! Hope you are having a great long weekend.

I actually loitered at City Perks so long last time that I'm pretty sure they won't let me back in next time lol. You know what, I'm going to do a video on the St. Louis light later this summer. I'm going to go up there at some point in August I think and I'm really looking forward to that one. I hope the light appears for us when we're there! I have a feeling it will be a popular video, and I want to feature the town of St. Louis itself a little bit. Thanks for watching and I appreciate the support - all the best to you guys!

    I went to Museo, had cinnamon bun and coffee. The cinnamon bun was dried out and the coffee I had was almost undrinkable. However Citiperks is pretty good but the BEST coffee and desert place is Calories on Broadway, hands down.

      Hey thanks for watching and I appreciate when people take the time to comment - sucks to hear you had a bad experience at Museo, I've personally found it to be the best overall coffee in Saskatoon when I've been there. I do love City Perks and Calories as well, the city has so many great options! I'm looking forward to visiting again soon. Cheers mate

    Sorry bro you lost me with Calories. In my opinion D'lish by Tish makes significantly better desserts and is just a stone's throw away from Calories.

      Hey thanks for watching and I appreciate when people take the time to comment - fair point, I'm giving my personal opinions and naturally a certain percentage of people will disagree. I actually haven't been to that place yet and I've heard great things about it, I'll be in Saskatoon again later this summer and I'll give it a try! Cheers mate

      Thanks for watching and I appreciate your feedback - that sucks to hear, I've only probably been there 4 or 5 times but that one dish I had has always been excellent. I haven't tried other items on their menu though. Cheers

      You are right no comparison. Baba’s changed a few years ago and really isn’t that good anymore.

    This is a great list, the only place I have to disagree with is Baba’s. There are much better places for perogies in Saskatoon and I could not stand the cabbage roles they always taste like they've been sitting around fit days.
