^^ yeah they protrayed themselves as brother and sister because they thought people would think it's weird that they're divorced and friends in a band together lol
There is NO WAY that Frodo would’ve destroyed the ring without Sam. Sam grounds him several times, saves the ring from Shelob, LITERALLY carries Frodo up Mount Doom, AND keeps Gollum from killing Frodo multiple times. Frodo would’ve either turned into a wraith or died without Sam.
@@mattyKallday there are 2 main ways. The first is if you’re corrupted by dark sorcery, like through the magic rings. And the second is if you’re stabbed by a Morgul blade and the blade touches your heart.

As a dad, I liked the Phineas and Ferb show, but they weren't a Duo, they were kinda background in their own show. Their other friends were almost always with them. Then with the sister trying to bust them and Perry Vs Doofenshmirtz, they barely got a third of the show.
I CANNOT BELIEVE yall didn't mention one of yalls biggest inspirations --- Bret & Jemaine (Flight of the Concords). I know their names arnt said usually as a duo. But a duo is still a duo
@@Anasyub well I think just in the sense of how they were going about it. it’s not Brett and Jermaine it’s flight of the Concords. While the other people they mentioned are Simon and Garfunkel, key and Peele, Tim and Eric. Although they did mention outkast
ig so ya like its a group but ig still would consider them a duo idk like righteous brothers or daft punk r kinda the same? (cant think of any other comedy duos tho)@@oogatz1917
Outkast! Yes. Andres is about to come out with a new album and I am so excited. But Lennon and McCartney had a way of being able to write music in a short amount of time like no other.
😂 that’s funny, cause when I first started watching GMM, I always thought Rhett and Link were like my new Wayne and Garth lol I mean C’mon, if Link was Blonde, he’d look EXACTLY like Garth 😅
Lennon and McCartney are interesting because I think even though they partnered up on plenty of things, I think I would consider them to kinda be separate geniuses who just happened to get to work together. I would definitely consider them less a "duo" and more just "a band" along with the other members - especially since they're usually all required to make the actual music. I think Harrison would usually come up with his own guitar parts, Ringo would do the drums, etc. There are a small number of songs where it's *only* Lennon, or *only* McCartney, or *only* the 2 of them creating the songs and doing the work (and granted, they tend to all be great songs). And in those cases, it's usually only one guy or the other coming up with the melody/lyrics, and then just sharing it with the other, as opposed to both of them "teaming up" (though I'm sure that happened plenty too). Especially since all 4 had pretty successful solo careers afterward, I think that kinda proves that they're separately each talented, and the "duo" of Lennon/McCartney isn't especially important/necessary. Though I think they did kinda bring out the best in each other - but that was often shown in the form of competition/jealousy, and maybe wasn't the healthiest relationship.
Musical duos don't get much better than John and John from They Might Be Giants. They're lifelong friends just like R and L and have been doing music nonstop for four decades. They have a very clear respect and admiration for each other.
I like the George Harrison b songs best, fhen John, then Paul Paul's songs were very light on melody and words . The other two had depth. Eg. While My Guitar Gently Weeps and Across the Universe and Beautiful Boy.
George Harrison is my favorite ☺️ currently collecting all of his records on vinyl! Watch some videos of him - he is HILARIOUS! And his albums are my favorite. Lyrics, videos, music. So good!
You two, SpongeBob and Patrick, Mario and Luigi, Eminem and Dr. Dre, Joker and Harley Quinn, Smosh, Han Solo and Chewbacca, Shrek and Donkey, those are a few of my personal favorites lol
I was a huge fan of Tim & Eric Awesome Show when it was on (and their Billion Dollar Movie). A friend first showed me the show, and after watching the first few episodes, I just didn't "get" it, and thought it was stupid. But then it finally clicked somehow, and became one of my all-time favorite shows. I've tried showing it to a few other friends over the years, and they never seem to "get" it. I try telling them to just keep watching and let it sink in, but they don't have the patience for that. Which is unfortunate - I think a lot of people just consider it to be "dumb" humor, when in fact it's some of the "smartest" humor I've ever seen - but you need to develop an understanding of where the humor actually comes from. It's comparable to someone like Norm MacDonald: it's essentially anti-humor, and that's what makes it funny. It's unfortunate that Tim & Eric aren't as widely known (and if they are known, people just think they're "dumb") - but at least it seems like most other comedians have a lot of respect for them, so they're still able to produce a bunch of stuff. I just wish they could keep doing things like Awesome Show, but I think that ship has sailed since it wasn't super popular.
Funny cuz I think you two got a very similar dinamic as Frodo and Sam 😅

I mean I dont think there is a more iconic comedy due than Laurel & Hardy, they are kind of the prototype. However, Flight of the Conchords would be my pick over Key and Peele cos I think they have a larger audience globally. I personally find them funnier but even aside from that I think they're a better pick.
Just came to the comment that I spent an entire commute yelling at Rhett & Link through the stereo system, "HOW CAN YOU NOT MENTION BEAVIS & BUTTHEAD?!?!?"
A little note to R&L: Jack and Meg White were married partners; not brother and sister
They played into the brother sister thing for a long time when they first blew up
^^ yeah they protrayed themselves as brother and sister because they thought people would think it's weird that they're divorced and friends in a band together lol
Why not both?
Yeah no one cares.

How/when does one turn into a wraith? I've never read the books didn't even know that was possible.
@@mattyKallday there are 2 main ways. The first is if you’re corrupted by dark sorcery, like through the magic rings. And the second is if you’re stabbed by a Morgul blade and the blade touches your heart.
Thank you! This is so absolutely true. I can't believe neither of them thought Sam was essential.
@@amberreid1059 right?! I feel like that’s the whole point at the end and why the movie even ends with Sam. Because he’s the actual hero.

Bert and Ernie, Beavis and Butthead, Bill & Ted, Phineas and Ferb. All great fictional duos as well.

Please bring Trixie and Katya on GMM 📢📢📢
Bob and Monet first
I've looked at every comment and not a one has mentioned MULDER AND SCULLY HOW
Steve Martin and Martin Short come to mind, I love the two of them together.
CatDog best duo of all time , you can’t have one without the other 😂
To me Daft Punk is the most iconic music duo, but thanks to this I now know of the Everly Brothers. And for fictional, I'd have said Walt and Jesse.
Yes!
I honestly can't believe they didn't think that if they were going to go for OutKast
100% Daft Punk. When they broke up it was like the Beatles for EDM fans
I got very scared about Link's emphatic love for the Island Boys at first. Whos gunna tell him about what they do on OnlyFans?
I was looking for this comment! 😂
What about Bill & Ted?!?
I remember Rhett and Link trying a Bill and Ted cereal or snack on GMM and remarking that they thought it wasn't a good movie 😅 eeek

The two top tier duos:
Trixie and Katya
Timon and Pumbaa
Just a reminder how who ever makes the key moments, please always start with 0:00 so we have the split in main video.
I can’t believe y’all missed SHERLOCK HOLMES AND JOHN WATSON !!!! They solo
FotC?? Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement should get an honorable mention- as well as Harold and Kumar!
When I read the title of the podcast Flight of the Conchords was also my first thought.
