I think it's a great idea to put a paid for pattern in your shop. There's lots of content folk who post the tutorials for paid patterns. It's honestly my favorite way to learn a new craft. You are an outstanding educator and think it's an excellent way to earn income. ❤
I so enjoy watching you embroider and am learning so much from you. I used to be afraid of it, feeling I didn’t have a big enough repertoire, but you demonstrated how simple stitches can be combined to create something complex. I am also enjoying the freedom of expression you advocate. I am improving, but most of all I have been discovering a new source of joy. Thank you Marion.
You are so welcome Hilary. All sorts of crafts need practice. No-one starts out with all of the techniques or stitches or knowledge. Remember I've built up my skills over 60 years or so and I still find things that are new to me and I have to learn. Being willing to be a beginner at something is always worth it. With practice you become better and you find out more!
That is a lovely dress, Marion and carries your beautiful pocket proud. Yes, do offer your pattern designs for sale. They surpass anything on the commercial market. I might add 3 loops at the waistline of the pocket, to run a belt through, or an optional tie? Thank you so much for inspiring us to enjoy the process of making beautiful, functional pieces.
Good idea about the belt loops. I'm just so used to tying mine around my waist underneath my skirts. I'll be trying this one out over some trousers and see how it goes..
Oh I do love the vintage pockets… I’m such a pocket girl from when I was a toddler… and yes make it up and sell it and of course do a pattern it will be a hit….i would purchase a pattern…. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I love this! I never heard of this sort of pocket. Doncha' know women don't need pockets? Yes, male silliness. I may give this a try. It's much more attractive than backpacks or fanny packs. Better than a bag when you just want to pick up a few items or need a few things when you go out. So pretty, too.
Dear Marion... Of course you must well your patterns. You offer the instruction for the pattern on you tube. It's a way to support you for your time and videos! What a beautiful pocket! I know I have crewed yarn from way back when I embroidered. I'm off to search for them! I never cast away anything I can use to sew, embroider or craft! Take care and be safe! Mary Suzanne from British Columbia Canada
Dearest Marion 😊, thanks once again for a comefortable cosy chat time, and espically with another "leftie" as when l watch those who are right handed l sometimes get jumbled up!!😊❤.A friends daughter, 5yrs, loves watching too& demanded to be shown!Currently proudly "tickling" (tacking!) around the edge of a pillowcase as practice for her own pocket! Lol! Am sorting some iron on patterns fòr later😊So your teaching causes ripples😅Keep well, safe and content always, Julia, Brisbane, Australia 🙏 ❤ 🇦🇺 😀 🪃 xx
So sorry about all of these comments Marion… but I had such fun after I looked up the Elephant Hawk moth, and he was so beautiful that just for a lark I searched online for all different colors of moths and they were all there!! In every color that I searched for there was an even more beautiful moth! I had no idea!! There’s even a giant spotted one that has some spots filled in and some spots that are open circles! Totally amazing fun! And their respective caterpillars are just as amazing! Feeling like a child!!💕Donna
Oh Marion, your embroidered pocket is so gorgeous! Your talent sure shines through. You may have started a new trend. I know I love pockets - they’re so useful. By the way, you look so pretty today!
I think the pocket would be ideal to wear at home to carry my hankie, phone and a pair of cheater glasses so I can have them handy for whatever I am doing. I love the pocket, you do the most wonderful projects and your instructions are always so good. Thank you.
Your embroidered pocket is exquisite, Marion, and the fact that it's practical is a bonus! I would definitely buy this pattern (and others) from your shop. ❤
Thank you Marion for your video and sharing this beautiful pocket project with us. I completely agree with your idea of selling it as a pattern. You give us so much of your time and inspiration it's about time you had some return. I would be more than happy to purchase it. Make it a pdf then there is no need to be posting all over the world. I often wear leggings around the house no pockets, which is fine when I have my apron on but useless in the evening when I want to relax. Often you leave the room for whatever and that's when the phone rings or you need a tissue or change of specs ,pocket most definitely needed.
☺️👍 I'll have to improve my computer skills somehow. I can type all the instructions etc... but I don't know how to get the drawn design done on the computer. I usually just scan my drawn design. I'd like to do it properly if it's going to be paid for.. I'm on the case with it though 😊
Oh gosh, I loved your pocket. Like the idea that you go ahead and make it a pattern for sale. I am sure many people would love this. Thanks from down under, New Zealand.
Beautiful embroidery stitches on your new pocket. Clothing manufacturers never think about adding pockets to women's clothing. This is a great idea. Thank you.
This pocket is absolutely beautiful and it looks fantastic with the dress you had on! That neutral linen will make it go with so many outfits. Selling patterns in your shop sounds like a fantastic idea.
My favorite place in this world to be is in Marion's World. ❤ Thank you for sharing this peaceful and lovingly creative escape from a too crazy world. And thank you for sharing the making of your gorgeous pocket. I am excited to give it a try. After I finish Christmas gifts, it will be at the top of my project list. I would be happy to purchase the pattern, especially for the embroidery design. Meanwhile, I will look forward to your Advent videos. A daily visit to Marion's Christmas World is the best! 🎄
@@marionsworld24 Could I ask for a stem ginger preserve video that you added to your no churn ice cream! I really love the traditional way you sew and cook. Another wonderful tutorial and congratulations on reaching 40k followers. You truly deserve it. x
Hi Marion - You are an amazing woman. There’s nothing you can’t do with a needle and some thread. I never heard of a pocket like this. Your new one turned out so pretty. I just love watching your videos. I learn something new every time. Well done Marion well done!!!! Thank you for being such an amazing teacher as well. Yes, add to your shop as a paid pattern. Have a great week. Hugs 💕🧵🌸 🐝🐞🦋
Fabulous again, I'd love to spend a day 'in your head' 😊 you have the best ideas , I love foraging and this pocket would be amazing to carry my scissors and small pen knife x ❤
Once again, your artistry is impeccable! And you've sparked an idea for me. I've spent hours putting pockets on many pairs of pants to hold my phone. Now, I see that I could've made one portable pocket that could've worked for all of them. Great idea! Beautiful stitching! Thanks so much!
Another beautiful project - I love the detail you produce in your embroidery - the bee! the moth! I’m a big fan of them both (and butterflies) so those bits really gave me such joy. The striped fabric (I DO love stripes!) was a perfect choice and all of this has got me thinking of fabric I have that could be made into a pocket. I have a few small bags I use but they aren’t really big enough, so this idea really appeals to me. I have so many little projects sitting around looking at me, but I still may ignore them and move onto one of these. I’m so happy to have discovered your videos. Thank you for them
I just found your channel, and I just had to say what a lovely person you seem to be, and how beautiful all of your projects are! I am delighted that I found you!! Thank you for sharing your creative world with us. You are very talented and have a gift for teaching as well!
The pattern is a great idea, Marion. I used to write knitting patterns....knitting is too time consuming to sell the finished product, but you can sell the pattern so others can knit their own.
This turned out so delightfully. What a lovely pocket and so handy for so many things. I love the honeysuckle, bee, ladybird, and moth. It all came together so nicely. What a super way to use up old pillowcases too. My mind is a whirl with idea's now. Thank you Marion for another sweet visit in your world. 😊❤
What a wonderful idea - Will have to make myself one as I find it difficult to walk with the walking stick and carry things. I knew that they were made in the "olden days" as my mum used to talk about them. Will see if I can make a pattern from your measurements. Thank you so much. Look forward to seeing when you get it in your shop. Especially for the embroidery pattern idea. Not much good at that. Keep it coming. Well done
That’s a beautiful pocket and incredibly practical. I use crutches, so carrying bags etc is a nightmare. That would be very useful for me. Thank you so much Marion. I think I’m going to embroider mine with teddy bears. xx
I think that was the first time I've seen you cut a thread. You've always used it up. I've seen someone making a divided skirt and I found a piece of fabric my sister-in-law gave me. So maybe that will be my next project. Hot, humid and stormy in south east Queensland. Have a great day everybody.
I would love to purchase your pattern. It is beautiful! You are very generous with your talent and deserve to be compensated. Thank you for this video!
Beautiful embroidery, with honeysuckle, bee and elephant hawk moth. I love all of those and I’m keen to have ago at embroidering those one day so to see them together is great. I did mention to you after one of your lovely moths you made earlier in the year that I have seen elephant hawk moths in my garden around the honeysuckle. You should charge for your pattern because you take us to your world in your lovely craft room and spend a lot of time teaching us. As you can see from a lot of lovely comments people love spending time watching you create so you deserve to earn some extra money where you can. Take care.
Such a beautiful project Marion. I just love watching you work, you are such a wonderful artist. I would be more than happy to pay for a pattern of this and anything else you would like to produce for us. We are very lucky to gave you ❤ xxx
What a great idea, a detatched povket for wearing with all those garments that are pocketless. Lets start a new trend for attractive, visible, roomy pockets. And yes I think it's a good idea to create a pattern for sale in your shop. You put a lot of time and imagination into the things you share with us all. Thank you
Such a beautiful embroidery Marion!! Yes, please, make a pattern for sale. Also, consider making a pattern for the rice bag you made a while ago. ❤ Congrats on 40K!!!!! You are sure making lots and lots of people happy with your wonderful channel.
Hi Marion, that pocket is gorgeous ! What a lovely idea. I know what you mean about clothing with no pockets ! I can have several layers on and not a pocket in sight ! The moth was beautiful, and I could nearly smell the honeysuckle : ) Thank you. I think it's a great idea to put it in the shop.
Hi Marion, you looked so pretty today presenting your video. I loved your embroidered pocket, embroidered on linen took the pocket to another level. I am sure people would love to buy your patterns for their own use or as a gift for a good friend. Thanks for your inspiring video!! 😊😊
Again a dream of a project, Marion💗. Please do make a pattern for your shop, that would be wonderful. I have an old handwoven piece of Swedish linen, which I want to use for something special, and this would be perfect. So when your pattern is ready (hope you have the time to make it), I will have finished some of my other “Marion projects” and be ready for more😉🌸🌺🎄💗
Hi, never knew about a detached pocket. What a neat idea. I will have to try one. Put your pattern in the shop it will sell for sure. Your pocket is lovely. Thanks so very much for the video. 😊
I think it’s a super idea to make a pocket that can be moved from skirt to skirt! It’s funny because a couple years ago I told my friend that we should publish a design that I had made for a similar but different pocket that one could move from skirt to skirt because I just really dislike having no pocket!! We never did publish it and I think that the opening on your pocket is a bit different…sometimes I want it to open at the top because I don’t have the petticoat pattern for the skirt. (sometimes I just pin a zipper baggie to my skirt waistband but that’s not really very comfortable!!🥲)(but a girl has to do what a girl has to do!) The honeysuckle flower is so interesting and beautiful! Thank you! 💕Donna
Great timing on that stem stitch! I'm working on a wool applique that requires this stitch. I wasn't sure how it was done!! Thank you! You do such beautiful stitching!! ❤❤
Your pocket is beautiful Marion. I'd definitely like the pattern, if you get enough interest to make it worth your while, putting it in your shop. Love hawk moths, we get hummingbird hawk moths here, although I didn't see any this year. (It's been a poor year for butterflies and moths) They look so exotic. I love hawk moths furry bodies. Gorgeous creatures.
A truly beautiful piece of wearable art and very practical too! I could see myself using it for short walks or even at work when I only need my ID and a pen. I so much want to read ‘The pocket - A hidden history of women’s lives’ as I think it would be fascinating. Creating a pdf for your shop is a great idea Marion!
Bonjour Marion, I live in the south of France. I just discovered you; I spent the afternoon watching your videos 😊 The pocket is such a good idea and you look amazing 👍
You are a sweetheart, Marion. I so enjoy watching your videos. I like that you will put in a pattern for sale. You teach us so well and should be renumerated. Take care, Louise
It's so beautiful. I can't wait to make one since I wear dresses and skirts. Love your video's Marion. Started watching you because my grandma's name is Marion.
Marion your pocket is beautiful!! What gorgeous work yet again. To answer your shop pattern question…I say an absolute yes!! to putting any or all patterns for sale in your shop! I can only think your written instructions would be as clear and encouraging as your voice teaching! Plus you have so many ideas so to have those on paper in front of us plus your videos to watch again would be very helpful. Also, Marion, congratulations on your growing channel! How exciting for both you and us! Take care!
My first time watching you. I love your pocket, and how you explained your process and your tools. For a somewhat new handsewer, it’s great to see how things are done.
You are SO SO SO good at sharing and teaching and designing and every time a new Marion's World video appears, it's like Christmas! THANK YOU! I would relish the chance to buy your "Pocket Pattern" in your shop, if you decide to do that!
That's just gorgeous, Hello Marion to you from the Netherlands. If you don't mind me saying it, it's easier to take the two ends of the embroidery thread and pull those through the eye of the needle, so you'll have a loop on the bottom, then you don't have to make knots and when you insert your thread through the linnen you put the needle through the loop and it's tight. It will save you time and no bulk from the knots. Wishing you an amazing day. I'm new at your channel and am going to have fun watching them for sure. Take care, Vleer.
Yay! I've been anxiously flipping back to your channel waiting on a new video! Some of my favorite parts of the week are sitting down with a cuppa and your videos. Always wonderful and full of inspiration. ❤
Another wonderful video. The pocket is beautiful. The Hummingbird hawk moth is stunning and it’s one of the few moths that flies around during the day. ❤
I love this picket and i can see so many uses for it! I'm a large gal and if i did this in a stiffer fabric, it would solve my holster issue. Thank you so much for sharing!
What a beautiful project! You may have started a trend here - I will certainly make myself a pocket. Great idea to market the pattern - good luck with the sales 😍
Lovely project Marion! The embroidery is gorgeous and the bias binding is the perfect finishing touch. I think it's a great addition to your shop and I'm sure it's going to be sold in an instant.Thank you very much for this tutorial and all the inspiration. ❤
Marion, what a beautiful pocket!!! It is absolutely so, so lovely. I would definitely purchase the pattern for this wonderful pocket!!! I love your videos, as you know, the way you teach is so easy to understand. Thank you so much for all of the beautiful things you teach us how to do. You are a jewel, and definitely a keeper!!! 😄 Best wishes, Suzie
Oh Marion that is so, so beautiful - I just love your embroidery, especially the Small Elephant Hawk they are such amazing moths. I would certainly buy a pattern , without hesitation. If you wanted an alternative you could also embroider the Broad-bordered Bee Hawk, Honeysuckle is their food plant :-)
That would be a lovely one to put on! It's restricted to down south though so I've never actually seen one. I'd love to though that's for sure! I'm so happy to have something I could embroider a moth onto.
Just beautiful and I love the idea of such a pocket! I’m also excited about your Advent series as that is how I discovered your lovely channel last year!
When I watch you working on your embroidery Marion, I. think of my Gran who was so like you. She embroidered beautiful fire screens (amongst other things). As a child I always had a new pretty Christmas dress with hand smocking , pretty laces and embroidered details. I have our family Christening gown made from silk. with lots of hand stitching . I love your pocket and would definitely make one so look forward to seeing your pattern. Thanks for sharing your beautiful work. 😊
Thank you for sharing such lovely memories! It’s heartwarming to hear how your Gran’s embroidery inspired you. I’m excited for you to make the pocket-let me know how it turns out!
I have not long discovered you Marion. Your videos are like little treasures. I love to watch them. Your sewing room is an Aladdins cave of creativity. Keep on doing what you do, especially now we are going into Winter. Thank you for sharing your vast creative skills..... and another bonus is that you are left handed, like myself. Xx
Oh Marion!!! I love this so much!! I would buy this pattern especially with the honeysuckle!! Please do. I'm in the states and couldn't care less about postage. Hahaha. I'm almost done my tailors ham so I am ready!!! Thank you❤❤❤

Yes, sell your patterns!! You make such beautiful items!!
Your hand work is so beautiful. You are very talented. It’s such a joy watching your TH-cam channel.

Wow my grandmother wore one as well .. wonderful to watch you create an embroidery pocket… ❤️❤️
Exquisit embroidery and a useful pocket. Thanks for sharing.

What a beautiful design Marion. I love honeysuckle. You are such an amazing designer.xx
Lovely honeysuckle and pocket. The binding does compliment your stitching just enough not to draw attention to the amazing stitching. ❤❤❤

Fabulous again, I'd love to spend a day 'in your head' 😊 you have the best ideas , I love foraging and this pocket would be amazing to carry my scissors and small pen knife x ❤

Hi, never knew about a detached pocket. What a neat idea. I will have to try one. Put your pattern in the shop it will sell for sure. Your pocket is lovely. Thanks so very much for the video. 😊
The history of pockets is super interesting and if you look 18th century pockets up online you'll see amazingly embroidered ones.!
Thank you! 💕Donna
I’m so happy you are showing us how to make a pocket❤
Great timing on that stem stitch! I'm working on a wool applique that requires this stitch. I wasn't sure how it was done!! Thank you! You do such beautiful stitching!! ❤❤
I ment chainstitch!! I'm such a novice!!
Thanks so much Chantel. I'm glad you enjoyed watching it ☺️
Lovely Marion 😍 if you imagine hard enough you can smell the honeysuckle. 😅i love them too.❤
You are a sweetheart, Marion. I so enjoy watching your videos.
I like that you will put in a pattern for sale. You teach us so well and should be renumerated.
Take care,
Louise
💐
It's so beautiful. I can't wait to make one since I wear dresses and skirts. Love your video's Marion. Started watching you because my grandma's name is Marion.
It's a grand name 😊💐🌿👍
Marion your pocket is beautiful!! What gorgeous work yet again. To answer your shop pattern question…I say an absolute yes!! to putting any or all patterns for sale in your shop! I can only think your written instructions would be as clear and encouraging as your voice teaching! Plus you have so many ideas so to have those on paper in front of us plus your videos to watch again would be very helpful. Also, Marion, congratulations on your growing channel! How exciting for both you and us! Take care!
☺️💐
Such a beautiful embroidery! You should absolutely sell patterns in your shop. Your time and talent is worthy!!!
💐
My first time watching you. I love your pocket, and how you explained your process and your tools. For a somewhat new handsewer, it’s great to see how things are done.
Thanks for watching and welcome to my channel 💐 I'm so glad you enjoyed it 🪡🧵😊
This is just beautiful. Love hearing the joy in your voice. I need to channel my inner Marion and get stitching. Cheers.
Oh my goodness! You've made me smile...
Your pocket is absolutely beautiful! I am so happy you are planning to make patterns for sale. I would absolutely buy it.😊
💐
You are SO SO SO good at sharing and teaching and designing and every time a new Marion's World video appears, it's like Christmas! THANK YOU! I would relish the chance to buy your "Pocket Pattern" in your shop, if you decide to do that!
Thank you.. I'll definitely try and learn some extra computer skills so I can get the design done properly ☺️
I often do it that way.... it just depends on how I'm stitching at the time 😊🪡🧵
Yay! I've been anxiously flipping back to your channel waiting on a new video! Some of my favorite parts of the week are sitting down with a cuppa and your videos. Always wonderful and full of inspiration. ❤
That's so kind to say Emily. Thank you..
❤❤❤❤so beautiful. I will put my wool and needles in it when I go out for a Cuppa
Thank you for this beautiful pocket, I have always wanted to make one, ❤
Another wonderful video. The pocket is beautiful. The Hummingbird hawk moth is stunning and it’s one of the few moths that flies around during the day. ❤
I love this picket and i can see so many uses for it! I'm a large gal and if i did this in a stiffer fabric, it would solve my holster issue. Thank you so much for sharing!
Great idea!
Super pretty! Love this. Love the colors. I think bias from stripped fabric can add so much to a project.
Your so inspiring your emboidery wonderful

Lovely project Marion! The embroidery is gorgeous and the bias binding is the perfect finishing touch. I think it's a great addition to your shop and I'm sure it's going to be sold in an instant.Thank you very much for this tutorial and all the inspiration. ❤
What a beautiful pocket Marion! I carry my phone everywhere what a great little pocket. Thanks for this wonderful video. Happy stitching! 🧵🪡🧶💕
You are the star Marion 💫 what a beautiful pocket, what a treat to see you make it.
Beautiful art as always Marion...😊😊
Another beautiful project Marion ! Looks lovely!!!
Just beautiful and I love the idea of such a pocket! I’m also excited about your Advent series as that is how I discovered your lovely channel last year!
It's hard to believe I'm about to have a second Christmas on the channel ☺️
Beautiful! I wish more people would use these. YES! I think it would look awesome with jeans.
Xx
Of course we would purchase a pattern from you! We love your patterns, free or not! Thank you so much!
💐
Oh Marion!!! I love this so much!! I would buy this pattern especially with the honeysuckle!! Please do. I'm in the states and couldn't care less about postage. Hahaha. I'm almost done my tailors ham so I am ready!!! Thank you❤❤❤
Brilliant on making the tailor's ham! All ready for some hand sewing then...
