Switching from AMD to Nvidia? Here's how to prepare - A step-by-step guide

Firstly I would like to state that I am on neither team green nor team red. I am of the mind that you should get the best graphics card that falls within your budget and use case.
Also I do not work in I.T. however computers are my hobby and I have been building them for well over 20 years so I am just sharing with you the steps that I take when switching between AMD and Nvidia cards or vice versa. Feel free to leave any tips you may also have in the comments.
These instructions can also be used to switch from Nvidia to AMD. Just be sure to grab the new AMD drivers for your graphics card instead of the Nvidia ones. The steps are essentially the same just select the Nvidia driver instead of AMD when running DDU in safe mode.
I recently scored a great deal on an EVGA GeForce RTX 2060 XC Ultra Black. My previous card, an MSI Radeon RX 480 Gaming X 8G performed valiantly for years and honestly only recently started showing its age in some of the newest gaming titles when paired with my 1080p 75Hz monitor.
