How do you track your vocals in the stu? Are you monitoring with FX in a style you want the song to sound like or do you just use some basic eq/comp/gain to hear you better and have the imagination for post production?
I use my analog gear so my vocal chain adds a lot to the sound and each voice is different so different gear works with different vocals (mics, compressors, preamps). That gets me 99% there and as far as in the box processing goes the only thing I’ll do is add autotune if needed and reverb and delay by sends if the song calls for it. That’s it I never overcomplicate it ever. The more plugins you add and the more you expect them to do all the heavy work is the further you stray away from your true artistic voice. And I’m just talking about lead vocals here, for adlibs and layers I’ll still record them the same but add filters after to give me the sound I want and if there’s a section where I want to add a special effect I already know all my plugins I have available like the back of my hand to just think of what I want to hear and I add the plugins and tweak them myself to make it come to life. It’s never really used with a set “preset”. Again each song is different and each voice is different but after doing this for 8+ years you immediately know what works and what doesn’t so you can dial stuff in manually if you actually took the time and effort to learn your tools. There is a Video of Tory Lanez sing over a Fan beat and using live a Kanye West/Kid cudi effect (harmonies). That would be a great video if you can show how to do that. Again when you do higher cpu tasks the fans do be coming on tho like video editing or opening up hella vsts but for recording you'll be straight 100% as long as you do all heavy processing after recording. Which is what all pro engineers do.
Pls just get a laptop from established brands. The specs on this laptop arent special. Look for Lenovo LOQ laptops, those have good build+good specs+ good infrastructure(cooling+keyboard+trackpad+screen)

@@gideyo with the specific specs on this computer I get about 2 hours of battery life when just browsing but if you want to do heavier tasks like audio production or video editing I would recommend to just leave it plugged in if possible because that’s where you would get the best performance. That’s why I always leave mine plugged in whenever I use it so if you have access to an outlet then you’ll be perfect, I can’t really say on the battery life itself besides the first browsing example because it really varies depending on how high the demand is for energy off your laptop. If you game it’ll be shorter, if you edit videos it’ll be shorter, if you do music production mainly then it’ll probably be longer depending on how many plugins, tracks, vsts you’re using etc but I don’t wanna worry about none of that so I leave it plugged in
@@cryptonation7362 100000% I’ve grown to love it even more, every single video after this upload for the channel has been edited on this laptop 4K 24fps with 100+ GB projects. It’s still perfect for portable sessions it never crashes, and I even got more into gaming on this laptop which I didn’t really try at the time of this review and it handles all AAA games like Call of Duty, Red dead redemption, Fortnite you name it all at over 100 fps consistently if you’re in to that. And this is still just the intel i7 version since this video the company has dropped more laptops with higher end processors if you’re looking for that as well. Got this laptop January and in all honesty it’s still my favorite thing of this year so far! I’ll recommend it always!

What antivirus would you recommend with it? Wanted to make the switch to ableton and also Mac but almost $3000 for the specs I want on top of that, Ableton is over $700
So I spoke with the guy from Kreative Devices and he said you don't really need an antivirus for when you're working at least but for web browsing you could use Avira and that should have you covered
For this laptop there’s no options to turn off the fans when recording but usually recording isn’t a super cpu intense process if you’re using low cpu plugins (which is what I recommend for most recording situations) then the fans won’t even turn on while recording I’ve noticed the fans kick in when you’re - editing videos - gaming - downloading software’s - streaming videos in 4K - or doing heavy mixing with a lot of plugins But for recording they didn’t turn on for me. I was on pro tools tracking vocals with a 48khz sample rate at 32 bit depth float for a 3 minute song and it handled it perfect

The highest chip they could place is the intel i9 but again it’s a laptop that’s more budget friendly so they’re stock with i7 but and the i9 isn’t going to make the craziest difference just maybe a small percentage mine has the i7 and runs great tbh I’m still using it to edit videos and to edit 4K footage with motion graphics it handles it no problem and renders videos out pretty fast too
