Today's Constructive Feedback (it's been a while): - Game 1: A Forge Fast Expand is not countered by an OverPool, it's actually one of the safest openers, depending on the amount of Zerglings you can just make an extra cannon. - Game 1: +1 Air attack is crucial for mass corsair plays as it enables them to 1-shot scourge with 6 corsairs instead of 7 Keep the BW coming!

Gosh what a series! You can feel Bisu's frustration by his probe scout timing in the forth game. Anyway, Bisu's play in the forth was out of this world. He would have won against any Z in the world.
effort had serious issues preparing for bisu's attacks, for example, 49:34 sees 5 zealots start walking across the map, spawns 2 additional drones, zealots complete their walk across the map and start wrecking house, uhhh, probably shoulda invested in lings instead of drones
In game 1 that group of hydras are down in the bottom left because effort had to reroute them around a terrain feature that they were getting caught up on and getting killed one by one like fish in a barrel @ 15:00

You seem to do commentary on games in a very similar tonality that I do, and I still recognize some of the names over the many years of Broodwar (though I never really got into Starcraft 2 or streaming, I am still an active gamer on War2). I do feel like I now have about 5 seasons worth the Broodwar replays to catch up on now that I can now during these interesting times). ..ANYWAYS *Life story Disclaimer* Around 2002-2010ish I played Broodwar on the original US.East Server under the alias USSR. Prior to this I was on both the original Exodus and Kali Warcraft 2 Servers prior to the original launch of the Bnet Edition of Warcraft 2 (Where Blizzard once upon a time split the servers into US.East/West/Europe etc). I did end up leaving Broodwar altogether to rejoin our dwindling Warcraft 2 Community after taking a few years break from the game (due to family life getting busy), but when a friend asked me to return I couldn't resist. I'm becoming an old timer/family man similar to yourself so I just play part time these days and I'm not involved in youtube or streaming etc. We as a community though figure, meh.. whats the harm in asking.. as we are still hosting games every night and have archives of War2 replays from over the decades.. We were wondering if you were entertain the possibility of doing commentary on a single Warcraft 2 game haha. You could hand pick the game from a selection of hundreds. There is an absolute ton of replays from over our 20 year on and off duration. We managed to preserve a number of them over the decades. They vary from BO5 series Master Rank Challenges to more laid back entertaining recent team 3v3 or 4v4 games where we just poke fun at one another. Never the less, there are tons of recent replays as well as some games we consider historic as some of those members of our community have passed away or are no longer with us. Some of the replays do have our/my voice commentary from the actual players in the game including myself, but there are plenty without the discord voice chats going on. We still do have a few streamers and a youtube channel.. and they are aware of who you are. Others from the Warcraft 2 Community were actually the ones who told me there was a guy still casting for broodwar and I had to see it for myself!. But I suppose I'm more like youwith kids etc that I don't play competitively anymore. I do enjoy doing voice chat/commentary during live games (most of which I'm trying to figure out wtf happened to all my battleships or knights. So there is a variety of the type of replays, including the more laid back mentioned environment. I tend to leave it to the pros with insane apm to do their thing. I basically can only compete with the pros these days on water maps haha, but I still do love playing We use "War2insight" to record games, and since it's built to function within blizzard products it works similar to how the old broodwar replays handle (prior to remastered). So the replay technology can not see tech trees or zoom in/out , but you have the ability to view from certain players view point, vision on or off etc and see their APM. (You do not necessarily need to be online our community to do commentary on replays nor would we expect you to make an appearance haha). Warcraft 2 is now "abandonware" our client is free to download as they stopped all maintenance of the previous B.net operated servers. Around 2005 we switched to a PVPGN server operated/admin/funded by the player base. (The client being required to potentially stream replays/commentary). It works similar to the old broodwar replays system which is limited but you may still find it entertaining. I figure you have enough projects to work on, but if there is interest we look forward to your response. I thought perhaps you'd be interested in knowing there's a Warcraft 2 Community aware of who you are and watching the commentary you do on broodwar. Always nice to see Effort games, of course me liking him has everything to do with him being the bogeyman player for Flash! Edit: As to what i'd like to see more of, weird maps like Detonation F, 815 III or Neo Arkanoid are always fun :-)
24:45 I think Effort must have gotten a real big boi misread with these Zerglings here. Maybe he wasn't expecting Bisu to be so aggressive so early on? So he wasn't paying super close attention, and they may not have had all the Zealots in vision. I think this is why he seemed so completely and totally unprepared for that timing because he went a little bit greedier than he should have. That combined with his overpool mindgame not working as well in this game than the first game combined is probably ultimately what cost him the game. I can't really think of any other reason why Effort was so uncharacteristically unprepared for this attack. Anyway PvZ is definitely my favorite matchup although TvT is a close second. :D Holy shit that game 3 is a fucking once in a lifetime game. These 2 guys will NEVER have a game like that ever again. Bisu may have been mad in the moment but he must admit that's fucking hilarious how the entire deck just stacked PERFECTLY for that 5pool to work.
Would go as far to say that zealot is easily one of the best if not the best unit in the entire game. Tanky, hit hard, decently fast AND cost no gas. Have a place in every match up at every stage of the game for any race. Boss ass unit.
As a fan of BW, I would support a variant of BW with patches. Never be afraid of innovation! Heck, I wish there were SC2 patches to make it more like BW (less death of units, more battles, just tougher units leading to longer battles)

I would LOVE new patches for brood war, like you said, have two different patches. One "old" brood war and a new brood war that gets patched every so often.
I don't want to add sc2 to my subscription list as I don't like to watch it. But I know that I can always find brood wars in main recommendation or directly go to your channel. I didn't played SC2 and it is kinda messy game to watch.
I think out of those only scouts are truly useless, it's comedic how bad they are and for what price. The rest I've seen them used on occasion, the scout can't even claim that.
BCs, guardians, devourers, queens come up surprisingly well used in some matches. I would totally like a new scout patch for BW. I don’t think there’s been a game where a scout was even entertaining.
@@user-iu1ru1qz7u ikr, but despite that, they are sooo rare, their usage is so rare it's not even funny... BCs and devourers could deal more damage, while guardians have way more hp, for example; and all of them being more cheap to produce... of course scout is the most bizarre of them all and in need of a more drastic buff/reduction in price, but all these units could have some use for a balance patch to become more competitive... and yes, let's put the queen, the valkyrie and the ghost into this as well...
BC is the ultimate Terran late game unit. Just games and maps are rarely late and large enough to ever allow them to come in play. TvT always eveolved into BC vs BC after about 30 mins. Guardians are used semi-regularly. Mostly map specific builds to blind side bio heavy Terrans. Devourer has its niche as Zerg's ultimate anti-air, but with how ground heavy most maps are, they are extremely rare. If there are more maps like inner coven, or semi-island maps, you'll see them more. Scouts are just for BMs, but they sure get a huge reactions from live events. Starcraft is a game of asymmetries, it's fool's gold trying to balancing out all the units. Map balancing is the right approach. That's where true diversity of builds came from. A unit patch changes ALL META, but you're just going to settle into a new state where other units are under utilized. A anti-meta map forces new ways of playing without invalidating or excluding the existing builds.

I don't know why Effort would go for such a macro opening (5th game and 2th game) versus an aggressive toss. Like going full macro in 5th game was a bad mistake, painfull to watch. I'm rank F, so I would lost to those guys even if they would play with one hand, but i just can't understand that. If he would go for 2 bases, ditch the spire, go for hydra den, make some hydras and put a block on Bisu, and then made a 3rd hatch. I main zerg, and I'm always placing 3rd hatchery after i put down pressure on toss.

I don't remember winning my first BW game, but my win in SC2 was a relief. I just hopped onto the ladder in SC2 without knowing any builds or anything because I figured it was just like Brood War, but no, kept dying. :D Finally won a game with mutas and it was great.
there really should be a new server for a rebalanced/updated Brood War. Who wouldn't want to at least try it? Scouts could cost 225 minerals instead of 275, make their speed upgrade 150/150 instead of 200/200. Make Disruption Web cost 100/100 instead of 200/200. Dark Archons don't require Mind control research. Spawn Broodling costs 125 energy instead of 150. Battlecruisers do base damage 40 instead of 30 (two shot hydras with an upgrade instead of 3). Wraith burst laser deals base 10 damage instead of 8. Valkyries would prob still be unused tho. Would be really hard to make them fair, unless they just drop the mineral cost by 50 I guess. Ghosts should have 80 hp instead of 45.
it's already balanced, why improve tertiary units? I can't understand why D-web is never used against terran or sunkens - probably cause you need fleet beacon in addition to the research
@@watchit33 I mean, the fact that certain units/techs are almost never used could lead people to believe that it's not perfectly balanced. Though I have no feelings about BW balance so I don't really care either way. It's fun to watch~
Yeah I agree they should have a latest patch vs classic mode. No need for different servers, just different game modes. And no need for a final patch. They could be updated continually based on results and feedback.
Im not a good enough player to have an opinion on whether the game is truly balanced or not, but the fact that people have been playing it professionally for 20 years or so with the same balance gives it a certain integrity that i think is best left alone. The maps and the meta seem to keep it balanced. I like that certain units are very rare like scouts, and others are situational like wraiths or firebats, and then there are staple units that are ridiculously good like zealots and tanks. It feels more like real warfare. Same thing with the mechanics and control being how they are, it makes it more of an art than a science and it feels very "human." The only unit I could do without is the devourer. It actually looks cool but i cant with the purple cartoon goo. Maybe the Devourer can become Falcon's melee air unit

Yep! Hydras in SC2 do have a melee attack animation, just like roaches. Same attack dmg, same speed. Just different look. :)

I would LOVE new patches for brood war, like you said, have two different patches. One "old" brood war and a new brood war that gets patched every so often.

I totally want a new balance patch for BW, make em scouts/battlecruisers/guardians/devourers at least somewhat useful
I think out of those only scouts are truly useless, it's comedic how bad they are and for what price. The rest I've seen them used on occasion, the scout can't even claim that.
BCs, guardians, devourers, queens come up surprisingly well used in some matches. I would totally like a new scout patch for BW. I don’t think there’s been a game where a scout was even entertaining.
@@user-iu1ru1qz7u ikr, but despite that, they are sooo rare, their usage is so rare it's not even funny... BCs and devourers could deal more damage, while guardians have way more hp, for example; and all of them being more cheap to produce... of course scout is the most bizarre of them all and in need of a more drastic buff/reduction in price, but all these units could have some use for a balance patch to become more competitive... and yes, let's put the queen, the valkyrie and the ghost into this as well...
BC is the ultimate Terran late game unit. Just games and maps are rarely late and large enough to ever allow them to come in play. TvT always eveolved into BC vs BC after about 30 mins. Guardians are used semi-regularly. Mostly map specific builds to blind side bio heavy Terrans. Devourer has its niche as Zerg's ultimate anti-air, but with how ground heavy most maps are, they are extremely rare. If there are more maps like inner coven, or semi-island maps, you'll see them more.
Scouts are just for BMs, but they sure get a huge reactions from live events.
Starcraft is a game of asymmetries, it's fool's gold trying to balancing out all the units. Map balancing is the right approach. That's where true diversity of builds came from. A unit patch changes ALL META, but you're just going to settle into a new state where other units are under utilized. A anti-meta map forces new ways of playing without invalidating or excluding the existing builds.

I don't know why Effort would go for such a macro opening (5th game and 2th game) versus an aggressive toss. Like going full macro in 5th game was a bad mistake, painfull to watch.
I'm rank F, so I would lost to those guys even if they would play with one hand, but i just can't understand that. If he would go for 2 bases, ditch the spire, go for hydra den, make some hydras and put a block on Bisu, and then made a 3rd hatch. I main zerg, and I'm always placing 3rd hatchery after i put down pressure on toss.

I don't remember winning my first BW game, but my win in SC2 was a relief. I just hopped onto the ladder in SC2 without knowing any builds or anything because I figured it was just like Brood War, but no, kept dying. :D Finally won a game with mutas and it was great.

there really should be a new server for a rebalanced/updated Brood War. Who wouldn't want to at least try it? Scouts could cost 225 minerals instead of 275, make their speed upgrade 150/150 instead of 200/200. Make Disruption Web cost 100/100 instead of 200/200. Dark Archons don't require Mind control research. Spawn Broodling costs 125 energy instead of 150. Battlecruisers do base damage 40 instead of 30 (two shot hydras with an upgrade instead of 3). Wraith burst laser deals base 10 damage instead of 8. Valkyries would prob still be unused tho. Would be really hard to make them fair, unless they just drop the mineral cost by 50 I guess. Ghosts should have 80 hp instead of 45.
it's already balanced, why improve tertiary units? I can't understand why D-web is never used against terran or sunkens - probably cause you need fleet beacon in addition to the research

Yeah I agree they should have a latest patch vs classic mode. No need for different servers, just different game modes. And no need for a final patch. They could be updated continually based on results and feedback.
Im not a good enough player to have an opinion on whether the game is truly balanced or not, but the fact that people have been playing it professionally for 20 years or so with the same balance gives it a certain integrity that i think is best left alone. The maps and the meta seem to keep it balanced.
I like that certain units are very rare like scouts, and others are situational like wraiths or firebats, and then there are staple units that are ridiculously good like zealots and tanks. It feels more like real warfare. Same thing with the mechanics and control being how they are, it makes it more of an art than a science and it feels very "human."
The only unit I could do without is the devourer. It actually looks cool but i cant with the purple cartoon goo. Maybe the Devourer can become Falcon's melee air unit
