  • Don't even take the tyre off! That's right, this is an unbelievable transformation that can be done right in your backyard.
    All you will need is some soapy water, sanding tools and paint! This is the easiest way to repaint your rims and still get that quality look and rust protection.

    Very nice work. And great idea getting the hub painted at the same time to match. Really helps complete the look without it looking like there is a hole in the middle of the wheel. Nice work !!

    Again, great job, any hints on where to find the paint? Can't for the life of me find that one on the interwebs :-(

      I found this PPD paint at the local paint place. I imagine any metal industrial semi-gloss black would do the trick!

    Isn't it not advisable to paint the area on the hub where the rim is seated

    Description says "All you will need is some soapy water, sanding tools and paint"....omits the need for a paint spray machine & angle grinder...also if you don't take the tyres off, won't the rust be running rampant in the bits you didn't get to?

    About to do this as well where did you get the paint I’m trying to find where to get it supercheap auto? Cheers looks good

      I got the paint at “the paint place” in mount gambier SA. So I am guessing most paint places would have a similar kind of paint on hand in 5L drums. You’d be pleased to know that 2 years later they still look great 👍

    Why not use a sandblaster?

    • @WillsLandcruiser
      @WillsLandcruiser  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just because I was on a budget and thought it’d be a cool video to do for those who can’t afford or don’t have access to sandblasting! Obviously that would provide a better result, but it’s achievable without it too

    What type of paint did you use :)
    And can you use the same paint for rims and bullbar/sidesteps etc

    • @WillsLandcruiser
      @WillsLandcruiser  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes I actually used the same paint for bullbar, rims, and towbar. It’s a PPG fast-dry industrial semi-gloss paint. I talk more about it in the towbar video I think

    Cool entertainment. But for me, have the tyre off the rim, sandblast it then powdercoat it

    • @WillsLandcruiser
      @WillsLandcruiser  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That would be the proper lasting way to do it for sure. But this is a good one for those who don’t have the facilities and are on a budget 👍
