Dante had been apart of calamities that destroyed Castles and on Multiple Occasions Disrupted Cities because Sparda this Sparda that (Except in 2 which was all about some shcum named Argosax). Meanwhile Vergil literally made 2 towers that Destroyed a City and Threatened Humanity Itself for the sake of Attaining Power. Both times to rival/exceed the power of his father and once to be able to protect those as his father once did (and wield his Dad's sword at the end of the day). I dunno about you but Yeeting A Son From The Mouth of a Fuggin Volcano and a Friggin Lazer from Space to say Hello to another is about as ridiculous as A Demi-God Son Destroying All The Gods (and even His Homeland) Because His Dad Is Basically An Asshole To Everyone (And Something With Dad Killing Cycles) along with Half-Demon Sons Essentially Causing Mass Destruction To Prove Who's More Like Demon Dad And Killing Those Who Would Cause Mass Destruction For The Sake Of Being Like Their Demon Dad If Not Better.

I love how at 6:50 Vergil sets conditions "By default". It was never about hatred between the brothers. It's the pride and the wish to be accepted by the other. The way they communicate. This is why Vergil is such a good antagonist of the series. You want to fight him not because you want him dead, but because he is that good an opponent, and it's always too much fun. It feels natural, it feels right, it feels like home.
I know. At that point, I'm thinking to myself about Nero slowly regretting his decision getting mixed up in his Dad and Uncle's epic duel knowing its just petty sibling rivalry beef 😂

I'll admit I've never played any DMC games apart from the reboot that everyone seems to hate. But I've been more or less aware of the very basic story of these games since they are pretty damn popular. Now, I did watch the cutscenes for DMC4 and now 5. And I'm very confused at how grandiose and apocalyptic the game seemed to be at the start and then it ended so anti-climactic and goofy. At first we were told of this Demon named Urizen who was trying to grow this big ass demon tree that will start feeding on humans and devouring everything or something like that. Sounds bad, so I can see the dilemma when they cant stop him. Then it turns out that it was just Vergil planning all of this to gain power to kill his brother. Yet when Vergil finally comes back, him and Dante just have casual banter like this was just another Tuesday for them. On top of that, Nero comes in with his asspull powers, tells them both to knock it off, and then they're just like "fine jeez mom" and go try and stop the disaster that VERGIL HIMSELF CREATED lmfao its so stupid how nonchalant they all act about the impending doom Vergil has brought and how many people have died because of it. They're just like "Oh Vergil, at it again I see" 😂
I think you mean a literal apocalypse. Even the second one of those that Vergil is personally responsible for. Also bullshit Diablo Grendel, because they're very much human and that's why Dante always gives Vergil shit for the things he does. He always tries to be "more demon" but basically just ends up falling back into his childhood grief over and over again. Dante carries the same grief but he at least knows that the best way to deal with it is to make the bastards that made you feel that way, learn the error of their ways, instead of taking it out on innocent people.
Let me get this straight... Vergil steals his son's arm, separates himself into two (V and Urizen), Summons a tree from hell that uses the blood of everyone in Redgrave to cultivate a "Blood Apple", becomes whole again, then has a friendly bout with his son and brother only to return to hell and lock himself away. Seems like Vergil got off scott free from killing thousands of innocent humans.
Well it's a bit more nuanced than that. You can tell he felt regret, well his human half did, whereas his demon half was consumed by the hunger for power and by any means necessary. They wouldn't have been able to reason with that side of Vergil anyways.
@@slimballs9650 Late comment but the reason why they're kinda confuse is because they did not expect Nero to have one since Dante once only see his partial DT, doubting if he can develop a regular one. Also among those 3, Nero has the most angelic property devil trigger.
I felt like, for the first time...Nero was so relieved he has a family. Not to mention his badass uncle Dante and his savage father Virgil. You could feel Nero has so much questions he wanted to ask his father and uncle. Damn! That some good cliffhanger for next series!!
Poor Nero knows nothing about Mundus, his family's history or pretty much anything about the demon world. Hell the order he once served basically scavenged his fathers remains and blade and used it in their experiments and Nero has no clue. Nico is going to have to up her info gathering skills going forward, cause without Dante there to explain to Nero what is happening around him, things could get complicated.

It was interesting to hear the sadness in their voices when talking about how many times they’ve fought and how it’s their only childhood memories and the sad smile before fighting again.
It was, but what what struck me most was that by giving Nero V/Vergil's book, he acknowledged him as more than just his son, but also acknowleded that the time they spend together as V and Nero were real.

That's so true. The character growth mattered the most and Vergil showed alot, he even did say in the story "If our roles were switched, would I have your life and you mine?" It's as if he's questioning what would've happened if their mom found Vergil instead of Dante.

Nope, he admitted to Nero that he only suspected. He wasn't sure in DMC4 especially since the church was screwing around with devil genetics. But watching Nero since and seeing them together...Dante was finally sure and so he didn't want Nero involved with having to put his father down.
@@LupineShadowOmega I think seeing Yamato's reaction to Nero summed it up for Dante, to wield the full power of a devil arm you need to either subdue it, assimilate it or have a pre existing connection. Dante used the sword as he is Vergil's twin so the only way Nero could was if he was one of their kids and I since this was Dante's first time meeting the order it left Vergil by default the father.

The Church was doing screwy things with genetics and Nero literally has a demon arm that could have been for all Dante knew at the time Vergil's arm implanted in someone else. It wouldn't have been the first time they grave robbed demons and probably not the last either. Again, Dante didn't know enough about Nero or his circumstances to be sure at the time. But he only got more sure as time went on. Probably especially sure after Vergil took Nero's devilbringer and Nero was still perfectly close in power still after losing the arm. Heck, giving Dante credit and saying he knew earlier, it doesn't really change much except for Dante thinking it was smarter to leave the past in the past for Nero until the past came seeking him out.

Remember virgil stabbed dante through before dante is like immortal sorta even if they did try to kill each other they can't? So they are just having fun virgil is just like dante he just wanted to be loved as a child but because he got lost he became bitter deep inside he loves dante he just won't admit it in the end you can see he finally became soft like vegeta when he said " where did you learn how to count" literally that's where all those years of being evil and bitter where put to rest I wouldn't be suprised if he turned like vegeta in the future
During the boss fight, Dante says, "You cut off your son's arm for this?!" Vergil then says, "My son...means nothing to me." That brief moment of silence made Vergil think because he knew that he cut off Nero's arm to get the Yamato back. He just put 2 and 2 together and realized that Nero was his son. Also, you gotta love how he took it. He was confused and shocked but after thinking about the woman he was with during his story arc in DMC 4, he knew it to be true. Nero on the other hand essentially went through the five stages of grief. 1. Denial: he couldn't believe that what Dante rold him was true 2. Anger: he lashes out during his escape with Trish, Lady, and Nico. 3. Bargaining: he tells Nico to stop the van so that he can confront Vergil 4. Depression: he's questioning his life and what to do during his phonecall with Kyrie. 5. Acceptance: he accepts this news to be true which leads to him growing his arm back and activating his Devil Trigger stopping both Dante and Vergil from killing each other
Vergil: well I ain't taking no responsibilities....off to the underworld I go. Dante: got to tag along because I low key miss my brother. And yeah dont want to hear the kid calling me 'uncle'. Off I go!!!!

The question ive got is was his mother human or another being all together. Considering Nero's personality is different either of the 2 brothers and he sees things differently, could Nero's mother be another being from hell or an Angel if the latter is true then technically that would make Nero a Nephalim.

@@ritsukaseriyko1491 I've said it before and I'll say it again. If Nero fought Vergil before he fought Dante, that probably would have been a completely different battle. Vergil probably would have won. I mean, when you get down to it, when he stopped them from fighting he didn't really block their attack or anything. He stopped their forward momentum during the weakest part of their swing, and then he sucker punched Dante to take him out of the fight. Vergil was losing to Dante by the time Vergil got to him XD Now, that's not to say Nero doesn't become stronger in the next game. It would just makes sense. Dante and Vergil are definitely stronger than Sparda at this point, so I don't think it would be farfetched to say that Nero is going to be stronger than his father and uncle as well.

Poor Nero knows nothing about Mundus, his family's history or pretty much anything about the demon world. Hell the order he once served basically scavenged his fathers remains and blade and used it in their experiments and Nero has no clue. Nico is going to have to up her info gathering skills going forward, cause without Dante there to explain to Nero what is happening around him, things could get complicated.
Yeah I hope Nero gets to learn more about his family one day, and that they properly reunite. It’s what the trio deserves.

When Vergil gave Nero his book as a memento of some sort as a reminder of their next fight or as a memento in general, I thought that was sweet.
It was, but what what struck me most was that by giving Nero V/Vergil's book, he acknowledged him as more than just his son, but also acknowleded that the time they spend together as V and Nero were real.

Nope, he admitted to Nero that he only suspected. He wasn't sure in DMC4 especially since the church was screwing around with devil genetics. But watching Nero since and seeing them together...Dante was finally sure and so he didn't want Nero involved with having to put his father down.
@@LupineShadowOmega I think seeing Yamato's reaction to Nero summed it up for Dante, to wield the full power of a devil arm you need to either subdue it, assimilate it or have a pre existing connection. Dante used the sword as he is Vergil's twin so the only way Nero could was if he was one of their kids and I since this was Dante's first time meeting the order it left Vergil by default the father.
@@5H4K490 sort of true. Again, my original point. The Church was doing screwy things with genetics and Nero literally has a demon arm that could have been for all Dante knew at the time Vergil's arm implanted in someone else.
It wouldn't have been the first time they grave robbed demons and probably not the last either. Again, Dante didn't know enough about Nero or his circumstances to be sure at the time. But he only got more sure as time went on. Probably especially sure after Vergil took Nero's devilbringer and Nero was still perfectly close in power still after losing the arm. Heck, giving Dante credit and saying he knew earlier, it doesn't really change much except for Dante thinking it was smarter to leave the past in the past for Nero until the past came seeking him out.

That brief moment of silence made Vergil think because he knew that he cut off Nero's arm to get the Yamato back. He just put 2 and 2 together and realized that Nero was his son.
Also, you gotta love how he took it. He was confused and shocked but after thinking about the woman he was with during his story arc in DMC 4, he knew it to be true.
Nero on the other hand essentially went through the five stages of grief.
1. Denial: he couldn't believe that what Dante rold him was true
2. Anger: he lashes out during his escape with Trish, Lady, and Nico.
3. Bargaining: he tells Nico to stop the van so that he can confront Vergil
4. Depression: he's questioning his life and what to do during his phonecall with Kyrie.
5. Acceptance: he accepts this news to be true which leads to him growing his arm back and activating his Devil Trigger stopping both Dante and Vergil from killing each other
Looking back to all their conversations and hearing Dante tell Vergil "Now that's the smartest thing you've ever said," really gets me.

Vergil probably would have won. I mean, when you get down to it, when he stopped them from fighting he didn't really block their attack or anything. He stopped their forward momentum during the weakest part of their swing, and then he sucker punched Dante to take him out of the fight. Vergil was losing to Dante by the time Vergil got to him XD
Now, that's not to say Nero doesn't become stronger in the next game. It would just makes sense. Dante and Vergil are definitely stronger than Sparda at this point, so I don't think it would be farfetched to say that Nero is going to be stronger than his father and uncle as well.
