Dzeeff: Rolls up with the worst deck we've seen this season.

Nah, it definitely wasn't the worst deck of the season. It might not have been the pretties looking thing, but it was far from the worst.

I would argue it’s up there. Maybe better than like… Farfa’s disaster decks. The deck is a bricky mess and the payoff isn’t even all that good. Doug somehow bricked with it once in all 6 games.
Aside from the obvious twin twisters play, why didnt farfa just crash chimera into geh in the second game? It was gonna die anyway if doug attacked it on his turn so there was literally 0 reasons not to attack with chimera and destroy geh with it, and this wouldve saved him from having to go -2 to out it with paparazzi later.
It’s so hilarious that Doug and Nym both went back to their week one deck but only added Pank, meanwhile Farfa playing constructed Freightfur

Constructed frightful that is so bad it lose to 1 negate. To be fair frightful is not really playable without the hand trap and turn 2 staple card. Also he have like almost no toy vendor engine which is like the most important one to go infinite with this deck
That first duel was actually absolut peak. Especially Gage with that Transverser redemption. Anime stuff right there.
Farafa could have won that game too if he made cross sheep, instead of the other link 2. He pots of greed searches cat goes into kraken ss dolphin from grave with cross sheep. Kraken send dragunity synchro. Cat gets back the poly he milled earlier. Using kraken and dolphin goes into sabertooth revive kraken.

I'm super curious to know what was the play there. To me it just seemed that after the synchro summon it was an uphill battle and honestly who knows wtf does Dragunity do. Transverser was just so unlucky tbh and maybe using Twister to prevent the summon of the continuous monster could've helped.

In Farfa's defense I dont think it crossed his mind since the synchros he could make just didn't out the Chimera. But yeah, he still should've immediately fired Twister. If the roles were reversed, Farfa would be blasting Gage about it nonstop.

I think crafting the card from the single pull is fine, but does that single pack of gouki now lock you from going back into it? With the number of times you can go into a pack rule?

It should?.... In theory, it's a good balance with the card pacts. Yeah, you probably get the best card in the pact or use it to unlock a better pack, but you are now locked out of it. Making your decision a lot harder.

In which farfa gets offered the gates to heaven but divebombs into the tunnel
Farfa stared directly at a board with 1 piece of backrow removal as his only interaction, a synchro player's board with 2 non-tuners and a tuner in the backrow, and voluntarily decided that stopping any play Gage could make and searching with Chain was a worse option than letting Gage make any potential synchro 6, 8, 9, 11, link 2 + monster, or link 3 play he might have pulled and being unable to interact with it. Fucking why.
because it doesn't stop anything as long as Gage hasn't used the trap effect. Activating Twin targeting the backrow tuner and any other cards prompts the chain from the trap to summon the tuner. Resolving the chain the tuner gets summoned anyway and one other backrow gets destroyed.
@@Slash-XVI Using the trap locks you into Dragunitys the rest of the trun, and, notably, uses the trap effect if he thought Gage might need to equip stuff and combo more to win that turn through Dragunity synchros.

Doug had no right to win this week and somehow he pulled it off. The disbelief at the end was so perfect.
2020 rules revision (also known as the benten ruling) makes it so that if a card is removed from the location it was originally sent to, it will not trigger. The link monster didn't destroy the dragunity synchro because it was destroyed then banished before it could trigger
Is that an OCG ruling or a Yugioh general ruling? I vaguely remember this but only from my OCG friends.

ohhh its this ruling. it came up in one of the quizzes in MD- theres a trap hole that destroys a card, sends it to the gy, and then banishes it, and it makes it so mirrorjade doesnt trigger
Its funny, even the Master Swordsman being put to 1 means the BLS deck isnt completely dead. If Farfa manages to accidentally accrue more generic ritual support, it'll be fine

RE: the FNAF chat - the idea actually came from the critical response to an earlier game about a family of beavers running a lumber mill. The critic pointed out that the characters looked and moved like creepy animatronics, and he decided to make his next game based on that concept.

Gage is still a master of pulling staples this week who remembers when Pank was played in decks almost as often as handtraps. But wait they added the brand spanking new shino cards to their pack already yet the Darkworld and Stardust support still aren't put in a pack? Come on Konami. How poetic that after Farfa gave Gage such a hard time about Transverser columns Farfa loses to Gage via Transverser.

To be fair, Gage did missclick earlier, and would have probably ended it the previous turn if he hadn't, so it's pretty fair that they both made one notable missplay here.
i mean, if he WAS playing around transverser, he would have... not played into transverser in the first place? waiting to pitch the poly for something that outs guardian chimera while poly isn't in grave was definitely correct.
@@liviousgameplay1755 Its not about transverser though. Its just the correct thing to do when your opponent is setting cards up. It could have been a link 3 play too or a 7 being made. Either way you stop him there.
gahgeh can just chain the effect of Legion as a higher chain link and summon the Couse anyways, from the moment he summoned the Chimera to the wrong zone he had lost the game already

That ice jade monster banned lowkey was good for future games . She’s cracked out in seal.
She's cracked period. She has high attack, she banishes 1 card a turn, and makes your whole board into pseudo-towers for the rest of the turn. That's an incrediblt scary set of effect, she only lacks a good deck to be played in, but once there's a good water deck that does synchro, she's going to be obnoxious as all hell.
Honestly she's just a pretty damn good card, and she's VERY flavorful to play in SwoSou.

Dispatchparazzi needs to stay on the field at the end of the Damage Step to trigger it's effect, it gets banished after damage calc so it's not on the field at the end of Damage Step. The weird part comes from the Dragunity monster cuz it checks if it WOULD destroy the opponent's monster by battle and if yes it banishes the monster before the damage step ends.
is because banishing the monster by an activated effect overrides being destroyed by battle, and now the card is only considered leaving the field by an opponents card effect
It used to be a relevant ruling back when zoodiac was part of the meta.
One has to love how the same words mean different things because the effects activate at different times!

Unless you want to count that single pull as one of your two times of going into the Gouki pack, I think the pack that you can craft from should be whatever you pull 10 from. It just doesn't particularly make sense for you to pull a single pack for crafts and face no other penalties for doing so.
I think it's reasonable to keep the Pank, since it's not like this is the first time it's happened, but change the rules for the future since there is now a pack limit in place.

The exact wording is "go in". If you step into the tidepool, you have entered the waters, so he definitely lost a pull as a result.
Nah. Hard disagree. Doug shouldn't be encouraged to systematically remove all of the metagaming strats since that is part of the competition among the players.

"You can only craft from a pack you go into" and "you can only go into a pack twice". If "go into" means a single pack for one, but a majority of packs for another, then it's not an issue of a "metagaming strat", it's an issue of poorly defined rules allowing a potential bypass of one of them.
It can totally stay as a metagaming strat to open a single pack to pull cards from with the intent just to craft a card, as long as it also means that single pack counts as you being limited to making that choice in accordance with the pack limit. For some packs it can even be a relatively easy decision, such as the Harpy pack with an ultra craft for Feather Duster.
@@connorhamilton5707 I mean I don’t really agree with the rule to only go into a pack a limited number of times either but if they want to hold themselves to that standard then sure, this can count as one into the Gouki pack for Doug just for the sake of internal consistency so long as the overall result isn’t to discourage basic metagaming strats that work within the rules outlined for the series such as dipping in just to get a specific craft.
Going off of the colors in the banning portion of the episode, Gage is Lightning McQueen, Dzeeff is King, and Farfa is Chick. As of the beginning of this episode, this checks out with their win/loss records, too.

For those confused about the Dispatchparazzi battle, I'm pretty sure it's a ruling similar to the effect if Red Dragon Archfiend. Confusingly, the card is still on the field at the end of damage calc, but is flagged to be destroyed by battle later. However, much like how RDA will destroy by it's effect instead, the Dragunity synchro banishes it before it is fully destroyed, thus avoiding the effect.

If anybody is wondering what happened with Farfa dispatchparazzi monster, the card States that when it's destroyed by battle which means after the card is destroyed you can apply to affect, but Gage monster banishes a card after damage calculation which means before the card is destroyed the effect triggers, so *the card was not destroyed by battle it was banished by card affect.*
That's not why. As far as I'm aware, it's the CA Benten Vs D.D. Crow Ruling. Trigger effects need to remain in the appropriate location to resolve, and as it does not arrive at the expected location by the end of the chain (it is destroyed and THEN banished), it doesn't see that it should trigger at all. This is why DD Crow in response to the Tribute of a Benten works. It never gets the time to see that it was Destroyed, as the last action it experienced was it being Banished.
If Dispatch was banished by Macro Cosmos instead, it would still work, as Macro is a replacement to where it sends, not a secondary action overwriting the status of the first.

Hear me out, this should be the strategy: Always open only 14 pack , then depending on what craft you have, you can just pivot into a different secret pack, just for crafting 1 staple card from that pack. In this case you'll get a lot of strong staple every week, and they can't hit them all.

@@nbassasin8092 I can definitely attest to the power of Dragunity in Master Saga. Played 3 matches against someone who had it while I ran Subterror Generaiders and ended up getting OTK'd by Ascalon Turbo roughly half the time. That deck is legit nuts when piloted properly.

Im slightly biased because they are among my favourite archetypes ever, but also Im more knowledgeable about them than average yugioh player because of that, and trust me, the only reason that deck never saw any competitive relevancy as standalone deck, is because D-link is far superior while basically acomplishing the same thing as them

After looking around the best explanation I can come up with is this, Dispatchparazzi activates at the end of damage step if it is destroyed by battle. But after damage calculation it has moved location due to an effect. Now the Dispatchparazzi cannot do it's when destroyed by battle because at the end of the damage step it is no longer considered being destroyed by battle, it's just considered banished.
If macro cosmos is on the field and Dispatchparazzi is destroyed and banished it will activate properly because it has been destroyed by battle and left the field because of it. It will activate while banished. If Dragunity Knight - Areadbhair had just said "any monster destroyed by this card is banished" (as a continuous effect instead of an activated trigger) then the play would've probably worked.

Children's card game without a proper rulebook, no less. I'd explain it a bit differently, but you are correct. (I'd mention that the Dragunity card has a different trigger condition than Dispatch despite using the same words to describe it - Dragunity thing triggers on marking for destruction, whereas Dispatch triggers on actual destruction, Dragunity thing gets Dispatch off the field before it is destroyed, and cards marked for destruction are only destroyed if they remain on the field)
I feel like the crafts should be limited to the pack you pulled 10 from. It’s meant to help build your strategy and I feel like it just being a staple ticket funnels us into needing the legacy bans again. Just my thoughts though, love the series!

I think you should have to dip into 5 packs of a secret pack to be able to craft a UR from it.
I think its fair as he can only go into the gouging packs 1 more time since he did also technically go into them. Which can end up hurting his chances of a good gouki deck

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m pretty sure the Link 2 did just miss timing. It doesn’t always pop up the window, since I believe something chaining before it can activate just stops you from activating it entirely (think chain blocking) and I distinctly remember in a duel be I believe MBT, Doug destroyed and banished an Unchained card and it still had its floating effect.
It didn't miss timing. The condition "when destroyed by battle" means different things depending on when its associated effect activates. If it activates mid-damage step, after the substep where the card is marked for destruction but before it's destroyed, it means "when marked for destruction by battle." If it activates after the card marked for destruction is actually destroyed, it means "when destroyed by battle." In this case, the banish effect activates after marking for destruction and before actual destruction, so it sees that Dispatch is marked for destruction, activates and banishes it. In a later substep of the damage step - I think the next one - any card marked for destruction is destroyed. Dispatch would be destroyed here, save for the fact that it has already left the field. Because it has left the field, it cannot be destroyed. Disptach's effect triggers on actual destruction, but that destruction never happens, so it never triggers. See the fact that Master Duel never plays the destruction animation where the card shatters, it only plays the marked for destruction animation where cracks form across the card.
As a side note, cards like Bottomless destroy _and_ banish cards. In cases like that, you will see the destruction (shattering) animation _and_ see the card move to the banished zone. Here, you only see it move to banished - you only see it be banished. This is why the lack of the destruction animation is a good hint as to what's going on.

Was never destroyed by battle. It was marked for destruction but ended up bashed instead.
For instance I am mostly positive it would trigger if DMOC had destroyed it by battle.
Thanks for the proper explanation. I understood what happened in general terms - banish between marking for destruction and actual destruction, and the two triggers with the same wording mean different things - but I couldn't remember the steps and their contents.

I'm fine with the pank craft. There really aren't that many packs where this is a viable option and it comes at the cost of a relevant archetype UR craft. It's a no-brainer here because the War Rock/Amazoness pulls not being worth committing to, but there's a lot of times where that could make or break a deck.

The fact that rulings fucked farfa this episode is so funny. Cause yes the ruling is “when destroyed by battle” is an end of battle which is later than damage calc meaning the banish negated the destroyed by battle. It’s such a niche ruling that so rarely happens
