Loved the orchestral accompaniment! This dramatic sectioning requires a portentous and heraldic background, and the Mozart was perfect. Really enjoying this build.
The paper mock-up on the fade away really brought the vision to life. What a cool ride this is going to be. I hope the videos do GREAT for your sake and ours! I want to see this finished!
It's easy to be critical until they're standing in front of a job with tools in their hands haha. Still a lot of people watching have had great ideas so it's not all bad!
Carter's Hair Styling really went all out this week...even a reference to Fred Dibnah and some BBC quality classical music. The fender extension looked great. It will be interesting to see how that has to be cut to make the door open and close.
You and Halfass are by a large margin my favorite channels. You guys are actually building stuff; using your imagination and skill in equal parts. What fun to watch!
The Canadians have everything I want to see on TH-cam. Carter, HalfAss, Fitzees Fab, Make It Kustom, Cold War Motors, Wild West Garage . Keep up the great content eh.
@@andrewreece3861 I watch all these guys and one more...Bennetts Customs out of Australia. Another young guy like Kyle with terrific skills and fabrication knowledge. And Jordan from Bennetts Customs is also originally from Canada.
Great work! Thank you for the mockup so I have a more complete idea of your vision. Looking forward to seeing this project as it gorws, loved the classical music too. Thanks.
You're too good of a bodyman to worry me. I haven't even watched half yet, and i know it'll be perfect to me and soso to you.more classical tunes, bravo.
Well. There's no turnin' back now! I find it interesting that while you and Brent (Halfass Kustoms) are doing similar projects, the approach and execution are completely different. Thanks, Kyle, for sharing this with us!
Thanks for the kind words, sir. This is my favorite post so far. You made the cab section look easy, and it's not. If I recall correctly, that's pretty much the same as the "Dream Truck" was done. Been considering doing the same to mine, you have tipped the scales more towards me doing it! May have to send you more $ for wire, as you're going to use a ton. My truck is going to be built like I would have built it back in the 70's, when I was a kid, if I'd had the money then. Was going to use a MII front for disk brakes, but may not use the front out of my 50 Belair. Keep up the good work, you are an inspiration for an old, fat, metal bender like me!
Is that you playing the triangle in the music? I have never called you an idiot as far as you know. Poe is one happy kitty. I'm going to have to watch this many times in slow motion. You are so far above any level I will achieve but I am learning a lot. Thank you for your time.
Nevermind watching Wray Schielin, I'm now into Fred Dibnah. Never heard of him.... Thank you sir for letting me see a sectioning and introducing me to Fred. Cant wait till the Chicken trucks done...👍👍👍
Intertaining! Impressive! Intriguing! Instructional! Now accompanied by all sorts of cool early Germanic Punky Rock n Roll,, 💖❤🔥😎🤘👍 Thank you ever so much for your time and work it takes, to share this project Maestro,, ☀🌟💖🙏💖🌟☀
Hey Kyle, I get similar comments about "at least you fell on your head so, no harm done". The cars, especially GM, of the late forties - early fifties were some of the best pieces of art. Wonderful to look at. Wish you were closer cause I'd come over just to sweep your floors to learn more! Thanks
Thanks for the Mozart and the grinding. Art is art is art. Some is timeless and some is forgotten. Hope this one lives a long and beautiful life. I just watched Vice Grip Garage where Derek rescued and recovered a 1950 Chevy Bel Air. The rear fender flares on that are curvy and sweet. Maybe this is what you're shooting for?
How exciting. ❤❤❤. I’m scratching my head, thinking about the fade away fenders and how the doors will open!!!!?????? Can’t wait to see it evolve into something very special!
" I'm liking it; this is fun!" Kyle I am as previously stated, well into my 70's and spent 50 years in heavy equipment and diesel mechanics, Over the past years since retirement, I have admired the skills of metal workers, body men, panel beaters and restorers. Here you are in your early 30's, doing things I can only dream about and regret the trade choice I made, but that's how life goes. It is all about passion and learning and you have both in abundance! Your shop is like my shed looks as I restore old open wheel Aussie TQ's and Formula 500 speed cars (midgets). I love watching your work and listening to and how you simply pass on your knowledge and skills to us, the unknowing, This post on how you analysed, measured and went about sectioning the body, was something I never knew how to do and the match up after the cut, was damn near perfect! Sincerely, thank you for doing and posting these.
Kyle, what a satisfying episode! It's clear you were pleased with the result of the doors--me too! I think you are onto something with the classical music--we are watching the creation of art, the music seemed appropriate. What you need is a helper, an Igor who can offer a third hand or help move cumbersome objects. Ideally it would be a teenager who hates school and was interested in the project. Fifty years ago such a kid would be available but they have all been lost now. If I lived closer I might volunteer.
I stopped 28 min into this video to say this as viewers and most of us old car and truck guys we should get this guy over a 100k subs. Why look at what he does with the same stuff we have in our garage I mean no disrespect to the guys who have all the trick stuff but Kyle fixes the metal with metal when possible and that is what most of us are trying to do I admit none of my body work is going to finish with high build and a block but watching him helps us understand how to fix what we have. I'll mind my own business love your work Kyle.
That paper mock up at the end looks like the chopped truck was MEANT to be that shape! I'd say you are finding its inner class. Keep uncovering its hidden character.
Some people have selective hearing. Ignorance is bliss and there are a lot of happy people out there. I prefer to listen, watch and learn. You have excellent skills. Thanks for sharing your talent.
Kyle I’m just at the beginning and let me tell you spit in ! Simple is good. I won’t tell you why but in my professional experience you hit the nail right on the head! Rock on my. Either cause you either get it or you don’t you are the man! Love the classical uptake!!!!!
What a great project. I was on the fence at the start, but now I can’t wait to get next week’s update. Some of my favorite channels seem to grow more slowly, and I’m not sure why. Great content every week. Big 👍
Very impressive! Love your ability to getter done…….your a smart fella…….loved the way you did the doors…..actually made it easier to get door skins done as the lower part of skin was probably the worst area of the skin and you cut it off! Great work !
Man I love watching your videos. Time lapse and right to the point. So much accomplished in one video. Very impressive and informative. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us.
What a cool way to section a door ... instead of riding the elevator we were in a opera house today ... it's getting real exciting now ... I'm hooked ...
The sectioning work you're doing to that truck is analogous to the massive reconstructive surgery I'm getting done to my face in twelve weeks to reshape my forehead, nose, cheeks, chin and jaw. Which sorta makes me Big Bird 😂
Wow! I was stunned how clever your aproach to this chopping was! Fascinating! I would have been so incredibly dumb that it did not even enter my tiny brain that you do not have to cut the doorskin in the middle and then spending weeks to get all the warping out of the panel. By the way, I loved the soundtrack! I am a barbarian and I thought it might have been Beethoven.
Looking better everytime and that classic music adds a kind of epic vibes for the video! That was a good call to show us what you are up to with the fadeaway fenders. There will be a less why you did this and that whining after that. Keep it up!
This is how it was done back in the old days is why I enjoyed what can you build trial in era if it doesn't work you try it again and you're not afraid to step out of the box
I’m close to your age, and remember when I discovered the Rodders Journal. The cars they were covering absolutely blew my mind! You have excellent taste man
When you said 'Intermission' my mind went right to 'The Holy Grail'.... The period correct approach using various GM parts/pieces for this Kustom is something I totally agree with. Anyone with deep pockets can put a 'bellybutton' ride together by simply ordering a ton of parts and bolting them together. In my opinion.... it takes a heck of a lot more talent, imagination, and craftsmanship to build what you are doing WITHOUT spending 10's of thousands of dollars. Keep up the great work!!!
Your choice of music-fantastic! During college, I studied for many hours while listening to various pieces of classical music and I still play it for my students during testing and reading moments. Cats like it too! Love the project and especially the technique.✌🏻
Fred Dibnah! Now there was one gutsy man!! Glad you mentioned him. Oh yeah...this project is extremely interesting to follow, worst part is waiting for the next video.
I gotta say.... Brother, you got skills.. Your making a huge job look easy makes me want to start collecting part to start on my 39 Ford coupe that just sitting... Keep it coming.
It's great that now other folk with rusty door bottoms can just go ahead and do a simple 3 inch full body section, happy days! I think this was your best video yet Kyle, can't wait to see your chop!
Who am I kidding, I watch for the cat scenes at the end LOL Seriously I enjoy that someone is doing stuff I have more than a passing interest in doing but am smart enough to not attempt it. Lots and lots of progress this week so I am looking forward to the next video.
That door technique is magical
Mozart and metal work, a great combination. Who knew. Keep it up, son!
Hey Kyle, thanks for the classical music!
You're welcome! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Your Rant on Idiocy and their reactions due to their inability to simply pay attention and process the information given in totality is spot on.
Loved the orchestral accompaniment! This dramatic sectioning requires a portentous and heraldic background, and the Mozart was perfect. Really enjoying this build.
Mozart interrupted with incessant monosyllable droning is the pinnacle of audio dyslexia. 🙉

Beautiful music 😀!!!
Perhaps a little "Barber of Seville" would be appropriate...
I like the classical music interludes. Thank you for sharing what you do.
Glad you like them! Thanks for watching!
Very nice musical score added. Bravo
Thank you!
Way to go Kyle...Like it or lump it! Take it or leave it. I like it.

The lengths you'll go to for a joke....removing your laces. Excellent. Great choice of music btw
Anything for a cheap laugh!
Glad Fred Dibnah never stepped back to admire his work. Fascinated by his day job and his hobby.
You made the sectioning look easy, truck is looking good.
I am only commenting because I want to see this continue. Nice work, fun and inspiring to watch.
Thanks! I'll keep at it for as long as I'm able to!
Enjoyed seeing the custom that led you astray down this rabbit hole of debauchery.
Thank you Philip! It's been quite the rabbit hole!
Bad chad could learn a lot about metal work from Kyle !
For the first time in history Carter Auto Restyling has been able to POLISH A TURD! A genius that will go down history, maybe Nobel Prize?
Great music selection.
Loving the project and learning a lot. Great to see someone foolish enough to tackle this by themselves in a home garage. ;) Thanks Kyle
Thanks so much Greg! This project definitely isn't one of the better decisions I've made, but I'm glad people are enjoying it!
That’s badass. Love the music.
This is quite an ambitious project. You gotta love people who can't do what you do feel they know enough to criticize what you do.
It's easy to be critical until they're standing in front of a job with tools in their hands haha. Still a lot of people watching have had great ideas so it's not all bad!
It's about time someone built a real full kustom, this is the answer to cars that are rare but too far gone for most builders great job
You got this young gun!
Listening to Mozart while watching other people work is a great way to spend a Saturday. Cheers! 😎👍🛻🏁🏁
This is how the Rod & Custom Dream Truck got started.

Your not a idiot, you are a master of your trade.
The paper mock up definitely gives that “possible end result” look. I expected the sectioning was gonna be way worse
Fred Dibnah would be proud to see you use his lowering technique.
