Lucky to have Jose live not too far from me, very dependable and trustworthy person. He came on time and gave me very honest and good price on the needed garage door repair. This guy is highly recommended!!!!
Thank you for posting this. I had no idea there were connection lights on the sensors and was trying to get my door realigned by guess and moving in small increments. You probably saved me an hour in frustration.
Thanks for the sensor device.I knew about them but I didn't know how to line them up until I saw your video on how to do it.I was able to cancel my door opener fixer.
So yesterday, my garage door was doing that and I adjusted the green sensor and it kept doing it, and had to hold down the button to get it shut for the night. Today I watched your video, didn't touch a thing, verified the green light and yellow light where on and not flashing...hit the button and BOOM it went up and down...so you fixed it without me touching anything!! 5 🌟! TY!
Wow! This really helped! I just fixed my garage door. It’s not been working for a very long time and I could get no help in fixing it. So glad it works now! Thank you!
Thanks! This absolutely worked and saved me a service call (I’m not in your area). I’ve been avoiding this problem for months and finally decided to do something about it today!!
Thank you, Jose. I should be able to solve my problem now, thanks to you help. Since I'm in Houston, I'll call nobody but you with any other garage door needs :0)
You’re the man! Thank you, as silly as it was, the sensor wing nut was loose? And it was pointing downwards. I still have an orange light on one side, and a green light on the other, but everything is working fine.
Thanks you just saved me from having to pay a garage repairman to look at my garage...it was just the sensor that was not on right, it must of feel off when I moved the trash cans. Thanks again!!
Thank you. My sensors were misaligned. The information regarding the lights on the sensors (steady green on the right and yellow on the left) was very helpful. Every thing is working FINE !!!!!
Thank you. Video saved me. I noticed the green light was flashing ever so slightly and I had to get close to see it. Adjusted it until it was solid green and problem solved.
Thank you, Jose. BUT, how do I get the sensors to point correctly and align with each other? Do I just wiggle it back and forth, up and down until I get a green light? That's what I've been doing and I don't get a green light. There must be some way to make sure the two sensors are pointing right at each other.
Hi Jose, thabk you for your video. My green light sensor was blinking, but I repositioned it and now a have a solid green light. the problem is that when I tried to close the door, it goes down for a little bit, the goes back up. and the lights blink 10 times again. even with the orange and green light in solid color.
Hi Jose, So you're saying 1 sensor should be solid green & 1 should be solid amber? and which one is the receiving sensor? and should you only adjust the receiving sensor. Thank you for your video
Great Video Jose. My door was older and the track was moving when the door was going down. The sensors would move and the door would reverse. Went up fine, just not down. The other issue I had was a loose wire so the door wouldn't operate at all one time. Just the lights flashed. Traced it back to a loose connection at the main motor / unit. Then one day it happened again. Just flashing lights and door not going down. Turns out the old wiring was cracked and shorting. If possible, it can save you a lot of time to just install all new wiring from the sensors and the door switch when installing a new opener. :-)
Thank you, Jose. I’ve remedied a garage door issue before, and haven’t tackled this new problem yet, (as I am at work) but from what my wife and kid described to me, this seems to be just the vid I needed to see. And, there’s no feeling like taking the credit at home as the man of the house when you secretly got the help from an expert on TH-cam. 🤫😁
Im having an issue with the sensors, i think they were insralled 3 years ago but used the same old wire, now the lights are off, do i rewire or how can i tell if the sensors went bad? Thanks, what area of houston ?
Hola José, tengo una duda, cuál es el espacio que debe tener entre el riel y la puerta a cada lado, en otro video tuyo me quedo claro que debo de tener espacio suficiente para instalar el riel, pero el espacio entre el riel y la puerta cual es? Saludos
My sensor lights will not go on. I just replaced the oil sensors that worked but the orange sensor mounting broke. I have had it clamped with a c clamp to keep it working while I ordered replacements. Now the lights won't come on. How to you align the sensors the first time. You only had to bolt the old sensor back into its bracket. I need to know how to turn on a test light so I can see where the eyes are pointed so I can align them. Any Ideas?
I just installed a new opener. Works great by hand. But gives 2 flash & won't operate via controller. Sensors are solid lit . I couldn't find any issues in wiring or anything else. Why inoperable?
Yes I came to this video because I am having trouble with my garage door opener. Based on the publisher of American Overhead Doors this guy is a pro? It seems like that door really needs some lubrication?
I have a Ryobi and the green light doesn’t come on at all. The other side is red and it’s on. Tried aligning and still not getting a green light on the one side.
My remote control raises and lowers my garage door fine however the wall button blinks continuously and wont raise or lower the garage door when pressed. I have a Chamberlain model.
JOSE, I JUST DID SOME TROUBLE SHOOTING. I FIRST REMOVED ONE OF THE WIRES GOING TO THE SENSOR FROM THE BACK OF THE GARAGE OPENER AND THE DOOR WOULD NO LONGER GO UP OR DOWN. LIFTMASTER HAS A LOCKOUT CIRUIT WHICH DISABLES THE OPENER WHEN THE SENSORS ARE DISCONNECTED OR SHORTED, SO IT RULES OUT THE SQUIRREL EATING THE WIRE. THE SECOND TEST I DID IS CLOSE THE DOOR USING BOTH THE REMOTE AND MANUAL REMOTES AND THE DOOR GOES DOWN COMPLETELY AND THEN COMES ALL THE WAY UP AND THERE LIGHT DOES NOT BLINK AT ALL. THE THIRD TEST WAS AS THE DOOR WAS GOING DOWN, I PUT MY FOOT INTO THE SENSORS AND IT REVERSED AND WENT BACK UP AND THE LIGHT WAS BLINKING, AND DOES THIS MEAN THE SENSORS ARE PROPERLY ALIGNED. SINCE YOUR EXPERTISE IS IN THIS AREA, WHAT IS THE CAUSE AND THE FIX TO THIS PROBLEM. COULD IT BE THE FORCE ADJUSTMENT ON THE UNIT HAS TO BE ADJUSTED AND IF SO WHAT SETTINGS SHOULD I TRY.
My garage door has one red sensor, one green sensor and the garage door won't open. The red sensor is probably the cause, but not sure how to fix it. You can hear the motor running and the light emits from the Genie opener. Can the reason it is not going up be because there is a broken spring?
Ok thanks for the video. One of mine is green and one is yellow. What's wrong? The left is solid green , but the right is yellow. I can use the garage opener to open but it wont close it. I have to use the thing on the wall..
So one of the sensors has a green light on and the other is off and wont turn on no matter where i align it i guess its broken. Where can i buy a replacement and how can i do it. Please and thankyou for your time
tengo una duda , mi puerta abre y cierra correctamente,lo único que quiero estar segura es que cuando esta cerrada después de unos minutos ya no se ven la luz de los sensores , sino hasta que se vuelve abrir y cerrar , es esto normal?

light adjustment to the sensor worked for me
That was super helpful! It took me a minute to troubleshoot and fix the door. Thanks!
Thank you. My sensors were misaligned. The information regarding the lights on the sensors (steady green on the right and yellow on the left) was very helpful. Every thing is working FINE !!!!!

I had the same problem but it still didn't work i just gave up sprayed some glass cleaner "Clindo" on the sensor lenses and thats all she wrote. Fixed
@@terrytubbs5127 Sometimes the issue is that the sensor is dirty. It's very rare but it happens. 👍🏻
La puerta de mi garaje no abria, le ajuste los sensores y ahora funciona, gracias Jose! Thank you brother.

Even pros use references and have to look things up occasionally. You only learn by encountering issues and figuring it out even as a pro.

Thanks Jose, that was very helpful. I didn't understand what the lights were trying to tell me.
Thanks!! Easy and to the point.
Are the lights both suppose to be green? not one green one yellow?

My garage door has one red sensor, one green sensor and the garage door won't open. The red sensor is probably the cause, but not sure how to fix it. You can hear the motor running and the light emits from the Genie opener. Can the reason it is not going up be because there is a broken spring?
Try open manually if the door is heavy the Spring is broken!
Ok thanks for the video. One of mine is green and one is yellow. What's wrong? The left is solid green , but the right is yellow. I can use the garage opener to open but it wont close it. I have to use the thing on the wall..
Let's see if I can move _no I can't move that so... 😂😂 Great video buddy
Very helpful, thank you!
July 2020 - thanks for California!
Great vid, thanks José
Thank you! I impressed the hell out of my husband when he couldn't figure out how to do it.
Thank you! From La Quinta California.

So one of the sensors has a green light on and the other is off and wont turn on no matter where i align it i guess its broken. Where can i buy a replacement and how can i do it.
Please and thankyou for your time

@@rajgill7576 EDIT: I found the same model pair on amazon for 12-$20$ just make sure its compatatable with your garage opener
