- Twin DV's, one not connected but plugged in so the car thinks it's opening the turbo when really it's opening one that's connected to nothing.
Intake - DIY made in my garage to seal against the bonnet and fit the largest K&N filter possible for the space.
*Edit, you could probably rig up some kind of blanking plate instead of using a second diverter value. I simple had a second DV after the new turbo came with one.

Full Intake + K&N Filter + GFB DV+, can get you this effect.
Stupid question would different intake filteres make different noises
@@cylic264 yes they would. Usually the China brands tend to muffle the flutter, but brands like K&N, Simota and BMC are pretty good. Tried and tested personally but there may be other brands of similar quality out there

Hey mate, I’ve got a mk6 gti. If I was to get this intake kit would I get this flutter? My car is completely stock
Nicholas Hollyoak you need two diverter valves, plug the one that’s not connected into the loom to trick the ecu into thinking it has a diverter valve and the have another diverter valve left in place but have that one always open
eoin730 oh I get you, how much is another diverter valve? And did you throw any engine lights doing this? Does it hurt the turbo?
@@stoked3169 another dv is like 40 bucks, having one plugged in will keep the engine light off, not running a dv on the turbo will hurt it though
@@eoin730 noup, my scirocco 2.0tsi (same engine from the mk6 gti) does turbo flutter without having two dvs. Just the factory one with the gfb dv+ part no. T9351.
The flutter in this video is more noisy because of the K04 turbo (more blades than K03 and more CFM)
If you unplug the diverted valve it would but it isn’t too good for the turbo, in this vid it has an upgraded ko4 turbo so it’s ok

@supercecilia open intake and a k04 turbo make the loudest flutter while an open intake alone isnt as loud like in this video

@supercecilia i have an open intake and a stock turbo FBO while my friend has the same setup but with a K04 turbo and his i can hear from a mile away, care to explain? I know 3 gtis with K04 turbos that automatically become louder after they fitted a K04

2 dvs to trick ecu? Is the one connected to turbo blocked off? GFB DV+ or oem?
Also where did u hook up the second, is it dummy linked to engine loom or something?
Is this a CBFA car? I've never heard of there being 2 DVs in a mk6 GTI.
No he has one to the side(not in stalled) of the one that is installed. and so he doesn't get a code. If i understand this right

Ben I got the gfb dv plus intake and my flutter is really loud only if I unplug the dv sensor plug

yes, if you get an open air intake youi will get really good intake noise, Intergrated engineering is the way to go. and I get turbo fluytter through unplugging the diverter valve . wouldnt run it full time unplugged because it can wreck your turbo

council its perfectly fine for it, the shafts on turbos rotate upwards of 150000 rpms so a bit of air touching the fins isnt going to hurt it. Plus if you look at alot of race cars they run flutter with no problems what so ever.

That's literally air pushing back into your turbo.. Good way to destroy your turbo...
Not how it works. Will it cause slightly more wear? Possibly. But it won’t destroy it. There’s one way it can be bad and it’s something called. “ON throttle compressor surge” which is when your on the throttle and its fluttering that’s horrible cuz your stalling the turbo while it’s spinning. But “OFF throttle compressor surge” is more ok because when you left off the throttle the compressed wheel is freely spinning and all its doing is slowing down the freely spinning compressor wheel. Will it lead to a little more wear. Possibly. Will it DESTROY IT. No, not really

This that will make it sound like this: forge diverter valve, k&n intake and ecu tuning in that order (sound wise not performance)
