Ive said it on many Ayreon vids. Anneke Is a Goddess! Her vocals are always perfect. Her vibrato is so uniform over her whole range and throughout her power range that she cant even be human. PERFECT. i have trouble breathing during her layered vocals in the mid section of Age of Shadows.
Mike Patton, Roine Stolt, Kjetil Nordhus, Eric Adams, Rob Halford, Geoff Tate, Paul Kuhr, Steven Wilson, Vintersorg, Simen Hestnaes, Garm, Oyvind Haegeland, Warrel Dane, Harry "The Tyrant" Conklin, Maynard James Keenan, John Haughm, Lazare, Liv Kristine, Cristina Scabbia, Vibeke Stene, Emma Helstrom, Karl Willetts and Michael Heiman. Yeah those would be some suggestions. Love bands with multiple singers, there's something for everybody.
I know Roy Khan has often voice problems due to long tours through the USA and Europe, but that time, it was not due to voice problems. The issue was that already too many similar artists were performing on the Avantasia Scarecrow album that was made in the same period.
Tobias had already asked for Jorn Lande and for Hansi Kursh, artists who also performed on the Ayreon zero-one. Inviting Roy Khan was too obvious for Arjen, and would bring people to the idea that Arjen was copying the line up of Avantasia.
(btw, also Arjen would have asked Alice Cooper to perform, but Arjen only record performers in his own studio (with the exception for Daniël Gildenlöw, where Arjen went to his studio in Sweden), while Tobias works with voice-parts sent through email (which is ok for his concept, since his tracks are independant from each other), and Alice Cooper wanted to join for the album, but didn't wanted to travel to Europe for a recording, so the idea went into the waste bin.
Maybe for the next album... with Geoff Tate, Kate Bush, Adrian Belew, Mike Patton, Serj Tankian, Jonathan Davis, Camille, Maynard James Keenan, and me of course (well maybe not)
Electric castle and universal migrator were ayreons best works, though some tracks on 10101011 etc are quite good (age of shadows for instance, wow!) i do think Ayreon's sound is becoming to commercial, to many things seem forced, like in every track there has to be a female singer.. :/
At 3:58 Jorn voice sound like Phil Lynot :D
This album is a masterpiece from start to finish. Probably my favourite one from Ayreon.
great great great... amazin album!!! OMG!!!
Ayreon, the mega project \o
I love!
Anneke and Jonas - the best;)
Yeah it would definitely be really cool to hear him.

That mid section of age of shadows should be available as it’s own independent song. It’s so beautiful
Indeed Pal!!!! the outstanding Roy Khan!! and of course Amanda, a great singer not only in the metal scene, but also in general!!!
I made them myself before the album was released, from pictures and samples Arjen posted on the Forum ;-) Thanks for enjoying ;-)
No longer quite as hooked on this one as I used to be, but thanks for nostalgia 🎵
such amazing album, love it
Arjen je bent een man van deze tijd. tips voor de volgende.... 22 december 2012.
Magali's singing is mind-blowing. Amazing...

What about of Tarja Turunen? Maybe in the next album?
@eloann Don't forget Roy Kahn and Tobias Sammett!
vibeke stene for the next album, PLEASE!!!

Imagine.....Roy Khan...in any of Arjen's music. Damn
this album and Avantasia The Sacrecrow will become a masterpiece...i think

Man Magali is like a female Dio, she sounds so amazing.
Russel Allen for the next album would be nice aswell
wow! i'd be fantastic Tobias with Arjen! XD
I'm sure Arjen will use Roy's voice next time (when another Ayreon saga gets started that is...since Arjen will firstly do some sideprojects for now)
Amazing! Where have you found these demos?? Thanks for sharing.
Tobias Sammet would have been cool to hear on the album.
But Hansi Kursch is definitely my fucking favorite on the CD!
hes gotta get stolt or froberg from fk for one of his albums. that would be godlike
Can I ask where did you find those photos with the singers? I've been looking for all of them but most of the ones I found are in terrible quality :/
Monika Turunen I still have them all in high quality if you want them.
bluebloodmetal Oh do you? Would you mind sending them to me?
bluebloodmetal got it, thank you very much!
Despite his weird haircut and everything, I think Arjen would be a VERY amiable person :) I'm proud to live in the same country as he does.

Why 'Y'?
Not at all, can't hold the quality of the arjen singers...
