One Take action scenes are the best. Nothing makes you feel like you're part of the action and actually there like a one take scene. Some even feel like a virtual Universal ride.
Rilumai yea. I jus like Kingsman scene better. The music , the fighting n weapons used during the fight. Lol its my shit. But hardboiled was good too tho.
The long take in The Protector is much better than many entries on this list, including the Avengers, the craft into making that scene with Tony demolishing everyone is more impressive that a CGI scene and hidden cuts.
The BvS nightmare scene was pretty damn good as well. I wanted that to be here as well. The movie may have had its ups and downs, but the first 1 and 1/2 hours of the movie was really good.
@@mlpartclub412 Batman has a vision of the future, he's wearing a trench coat, carrying a rifle. Once the fight starts it's a pretty good clip before they cut camera, a bunch of soldiers attack, Batman gets particularly brutal.
That Kingsman scene is loads of different takes so I wouldnt have included it. Just love the way Matthew Vaughan hides them all so perfectly and makes the action flow so perfectly. Give him a Bond film, let him choose a new Bond...bring back the fun.
Forget Raid, Tom Yum Goong staircase scene tops even the Oldboy one. Great action with equally impressive camera work. They didnt even put it in honorable mentions
How could they not mention the fact that The Hard Boiled scene was extra amazing because each "floor" that they went to was actually just the same floor being remade & rebuilt after they destroy it within seconds of the elevator doors closing for each "floor"
This fact should have put the Hard Boiled scene higher up in the rankings. It was a single shot for all levels and as you have mentioned, was just one floor being reset every time they went into the elevator. It is a great piece of Cinema history
There's more than one take there. Heck, they even cut out of the fight for a minute or so. Don't get me wrong, I love it and the Raid but the video is about one take fight scenes.
I love how purposefully over-the-top the Kingsman scene is, and in the context of the film's plot, it's extremely satisfying to watch, but I must concede to Children of Men and the brilliance of Alfonso Cuaron. Holy shit what an incredible film.
I feel like it's kind of "cheating" to call action scenes like from Hard Boiled and Children of Men "fight scenes" when they're more of gunfights and straight up military battle sequences. Also, I know The Protector was briefly shown in the beginning but it definitely deserves to be on the official list. And regardless of all the hate that Batman v Superman gets, that "Knightmare" scene should've been shown in the beginning like Atomic Blonde was. Also, there's the motorcycle sword fight from The Villainess....
The thing that made the Kingsman church scene amazing wasn't just the music, although it definitely helped, but the Matthew Vaughn's incredible fight direction. Notice how the camera follows Colin Firth, when Firth goes down, the camera follows, when he goes up, the camera follows. Imagine how a fight scene in Batman: Arkham Asylum should be filmed and that's how Vaughn did it. I just wish someone had taken the pen away from him for Kingsman 2, because his direction was incredible in that, too, even the writing and story were godawful.
I'm really sad the ascending fight from The Protector didn't make it on the actual list (nor did you have any honorable mentions this time). That is such an amazing piece of work. It took them I think it was 6 tries, and Tony Jaa just barely managed to prevent himself from killing a guy during one of the takes lol
Actually #4 had a lot of jumpcuts so it actually wasn't one take it's just that the jumpcuts are when someone covers the camera which makes them look seem less, so it actually wasn't one shot
Nadia Lahrach Dude in the video said that scenes where many shots are made to look like one count too, John Wick's club scene isn't made to look like one.
Yeah that's not usually how things work. A one shot fight scene is a fight scene that is either entirely one shot or made to look so seemless that it may as well be (for a perfect example, 1917. The entire film is a One shot film made with very well hidden cuts.
What about Tom Yum Goong taking on an entire building of foes? Even I was exhausted after watching that. Deserves more than the intro. He had to CLIMB UP three floors, which is obviously more demanding than in a room or hallway fight.
I can't take a list like this seriously that doesn't include the fantastic and unquestionably awesome one shot from Atomic blonde that whole one shot scene made the movie it was more stylish than half of the items on this list in my opinion
Wow no Atomic Blonde? That movie has an AMAZING uncut fight scene on a stairwell. I sometimes want to watch that movie again just to see that specific fight scene. It's that good. I was thinking it was going to be top 3, but didn't even make the list?
I would argue that the kingsman scene isn't a one take as it has multiple moments through out the scene where a cut is hidden by a flying body, a gun flash or a camera whip. Certainly gives the illusion of a one take though.
Do you guys know what a one take fight scene is? Goodness gracious. "How could you forget Ip Man?" "Where's The Raid at??" "I'm surprised John Wick isn't on the list"...none of the movies have one shot fight scenes. Great action movies but not what this list is specifically about
Even before the vid started, I told myself if Oldboy is not # 1 then this list doesn't matter... they did leave out the knife fight scene from The Raid though
a guy Well, if you look up the definition of a "one take", you will find that it involves a continuous filming process done in one take without editing or cuts, not a scene that's been stitched together to look continuous. Some of these don't qualify..
HellishGrin 460- I agree 100 % they showed Tony Jaa's hotel fight at the start of the video, but it wasn't on the list! That is the #1 single shot ever! They did about 22 shots to get that scene! If you get the dvd the extras show you every take, and explain why each didn't make the cut!
Some do, some don't. I'm pissed Avengers was on here whatsoever... unlike Kingsman, where each take was fairly long and impressive with very few camera cuts, Avengers was just pieced together using CGI to make it look like it was a continuous - no camera cuts but more obvious it was total BS.

That entire church fight sequence...in one take! That still blows my mind.
Another!
WatchMojo.com where would be Atomic Blonde?
WatchMojo.com you realize kingsman church scene isnt actually one take, right? Cuts as there are close ups.
Tanner Ewing they said that in the beginning
Already knew Old boy would be no. 1.
Spoiler :(
I absolutely agree with the oldboy scene as number 1, it's just so awesome and it makes you empathize with the intensity of the fight
Old Boy #1 or we riot.
oh dae su: yare yare looks like i'am no.1 on the list
No John Wick, Raid, and Protector :(
John Wick would be worth doing one in.
Oldboy!!!! Classic!!!
Oldboy fight sequence solidified one take scenes
Children of men is criminally underrated
True that!
vitoscaletta121111 What, it's very highly rated
John Mckevitt on filmweb, second biggest internet site about movies it has 6.9 rating which is pretty bad
John Mckevitt Critically, yes. But by mass audiences, most people have never heard of it.
I believe the word you're looking for is underappreciated.
The Raid doesn't get an honorable mention?
not one take, i think
Even Tom Yum Goong (The protector) also aren't
Nope
I takes more than 4 shots btw :v
@@marvelfoxmorty5057 actually The Protectors stairwell scene is a one shot scene.
Oldboy will never get old
So, let me get this straight. Atomic Blonde has a *brutal* 10-minute one-take fight scene, and that's not even worth an honorable mention? Piss off.
It is isn't actually one take, it's edited to make it technically look like one. But yeah it's still fucking badass
A bunch of these were edited to look like one take. Kingsman is even number 4 even though it REPEATEDLY cuts to look at something else.
Alex Davidson Actually, that makes me think. If they can do 10 minutes that way, how about an entire movie?
It has been done before, I think generally it would just feel too tiring to watch.
Victoria and Russian Ark are movies that are all just one take
I’m glad you guys partnered with KAPe because now we get all these lists about fights.
The Daredevil season 1 scene was so good, I love when there’s passion in cinematography prohects
One Take action scenes are the best. Nothing makes you feel like you're part of the action and actually there like a one take scene. Some even feel like a virtual Universal ride.
Kingsman had the best scene. It's one of my favorite movie scenes of all time
I'm guessing you haven't seen Hard Boiled then.
Rilumai yea. I jus like Kingsman scene better. The music , the fighting n weapons used during the fight. Lol its my shit. But hardboiled was good too tho.
thakid 23 the final fight as well is good
The church scene from kingsman is my #1 fav one take fight scene
Tom Yum Goong! With Tony Jaa... Epic scene... They needed to hire a special cameraman just for that scene... nobody else had the energy to keep up...
No mention of Tony Yaa fighting in a giant restaurant? That was literally the longest one take fight scene.
edi agreed, i thought it was going to be #1
The long take in The Protector is much better than many entries on this list, including the Avengers, the craft into making that scene with Tony demolishing everyone is more impressive that a CGI scene and hidden cuts.
Your God Wilfred Yep, unbelievable that WM showed a clip of the scene but didn't include it in the list...Really bizarre!!!
I expected The Raid on this list, never been disappointed so much....
I was beginning to worry that Old Boy wouldn´t even make the list. Firs two pics are perfect
The BvS nightmare scene was pretty damn good as well. I wanted that to be here as well. The movie may have had its ups and downs, but the first 1 and 1/2 hours of the movie was really good.
??
@@mlpartclub412 Batman has a vision of the future, he's wearing a trench coat, carrying a rifle.

Kingsman, what a film xD
free byrd
The Golden Circle's final battle was good too
The Thunder Network But not better
"Don't stop me now" by Queen also works incredibly well on that scene btw.
Wasnt that good
That Kingsman scene is loads of different takes so I wouldnt have included it. Just love the way Matthew Vaughan hides them all so perfectly and makes the action flow so perfectly. Give him a Bond film, let him choose a new Bond...bring back the fun.
Where is raid
Vishal Thakur exactly!!
Finally someone agrees with me
More than just one person.
"One take" means one long sequence in a movie, which The Raid has
Forget Raid, Tom Yum Goong staircase scene tops even the Oldboy one. Great action with equally impressive camera work. They didnt even put it in honorable mentions
They showed The Protector at the start but didn't put it on the list? wth? that scene is a masterpiece that should've been number 1!
Nothing from the raid franchise!!! Come on mojo.
Mario Johnson they suck.
I guess you think avengers is a top ten with all that CGI.
Mario Johnson I meant that watchmojo sucks not the raid. it's the greatest martial arts movie franchise of all time.
Indeed!!!!!👍
Why does everyone keep asking about the Raid or Joh Wick? Neither of those movies have one take fight scenes
The raid movies should definitely be on here
How could they not mention the fact that The Hard Boiled scene was extra amazing because each "floor" that they went to was actually just the same floor being remade & rebuilt after they destroy it within seconds of the elevator doors closing for each "floor"
This fact should have put the Hard Boiled scene higher up in the rankings. It was a single shot for all levels and as you have mentioned, was just one floor being reset every time they went into the elevator. It is a great piece of Cinema history
The Raid Redemption has the best fight scene with mad dog
Love that fight, but i do think the last fight on The Raid 2 was better, The Raid films are the best!!
yea like seriously how did they miss it out.....like really😫
calvo aceking because it's not one take
They contain about 20 jumpcuts in one fight.
There's more than one take there. Heck, they even cut out of the fight for a minute or so. Don't get me wrong, I love it and the Raid but the video is about one take fight scenes.
*The Protector wasn't even an honorable mention!?!?!*
Kevin Lebby it's in the world record to be the longest single shot scene
Even though Oldboy's is great, the protector fight scene should be number #1
That was a crime considering some of the entries in this videos. The staircase scene is gorgeous and so well choreographed.
Old boy truly changed the game ❤️ one of the greatest movies ever
The Protector with Tony Jaa fight scene in the restaurant could have taken the Avengers slot
Oldboy
Not any John Wick scene?
No raid
not one takes...
John wick doesn't have any one takes. Do you even know what a one take is?
The church scene in Kingsman !! Maaan tha was something 😂😂
What about "Harcore Henry"?
E419 Vericentra the whole movie it's a First person so it doesn't count, probably
Glad I wasn't the only one thinking this. It was such a good movie!
where there a one take scene? iirc you had a lot of 'blinks' in between
YES!!
Ilya Nuisheller did a remarkable job.
I love how purposefully over-the-top the Kingsman scene is, and in the context of the film's plot, it's extremely satisfying to watch, but I must concede to Children of Men and the brilliance of Alfonso Cuaron. Holy shit what an incredible film.
The Protector. Tony Jaa. Stairway Climb Scene
Hard Boiled & Oldboy?
Awesome!
Not quite a fight scene but thanks for mentioning True Detective. Still remains my favorite tracking shot of all time.
My reaction after seeing #1 "Yiha those guys got taste". One of the greatest scenes in movie history, so intense highlighted with a beautiful song.
Batman in that nightmare sequence in BvS? I know it’s not the BEST, but it was pretty cool
LG warehouse scene was the best
barry 234 YES, and that cannot be questioned, but it wasn’t a one take action scene
Kingsmen was my favourite on this list 😍
Kingsmen definitely should've been #1
The Daredevil takes are breathtaking..
I feel like it's kind of "cheating" to call action scenes like from Hard Boiled and Children of Men "fight scenes" when they're more of gunfights and straight up military battle sequences. Jamyang Pelsang - THE VILLAINESS should have been on here. #5 at least.
Definitely. It was probably excluded because of how recent it was similar to Atomic blonde.
Jamyang Pelsang atomic blonde was dissapointing
The action was good. More on the realistic side which I tend to have mixed feelings about though. The plot was decent, just not my preference I guess.
Yeah, they should've titled this vid "Top 10 Action Scenes That Are Shot or Looked Like It's Shot in One Long Take"
AYYYYY MY FAV HARRY IN THE THUMBNAIL 👏👏👏👏
The RAID... 👍
Been waiting for this list

Thank god the top 3 were scenes actually done in one shot.
Rest were stitched together
I take that back, Hard Boiled's one is one take too. That scene is a masterpiece.
The one from Atomic Blonde was so fucking insulting from how obviously fake it was. And insulting to anyone who can tell how they did it.
I'm really sad the ascending fight from The Protector didn't make it on the actual list (nor did you have any honorable mentions this time). That is such an amazing piece of work. John Wick???
Lorkiner What scene ?
In the club. Isn't that in one take?
Nicotine46 not really. It is made of series of long shots.
Bruce Snow so does kingsman.
Nadia Lahrach Dude in the video said that scenes where many shots are made to look like one count too, John Wick's club scene isn't made to look like one.
That Adonis in the ring scene was so slept on, I loved that WatchMojo gave it flowers for this 💯🔥
The kingsman church scene was my favourite
K S Mine too
The Protector!!!! I can’t believe that wasn’t in the list 😡
Who else turned up the volume all the way at #4 😏?
Where the hell is the Jon Snow mid battle one shot? Best camera work ever man.
The Adventures of Tintin better be on here.
Damn it it not
That was a pretty good one haha
Jezoo thanks!, but in all seriousness you should check it out. it has a pretty sweet one take action scene.
There are a lot of great fight scenes but the Kingsman Church fight has to be one of the best ever.
Nothing from the raid films?
the raid 2, john wick 2, and bvs (warehouse fight) deserved a spot on this list. half of these weren't even one take.
I’m sorry WatchMojo, and I’m gonna let you finish but KINGSMAN HAD THE BEST ONE TAKE FIGHT SCENE OF ALL TIME!
Chantal Jalbert babayaga begs to differ
Well oldboy fight scene is a lot better
It's not one take. Its several takes using movie magic to make it SEEM like one take.
Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning - great final scene in one shot.
We need another one of this. Make a Part 2
Maybe... Make a suggestion! www.watchmojo.com/suggest
John Wick
The Raid
Man from nowhere
Kill zone
glad to see oldboy make 1
Wait... Where was The Protector on this list?? One of the best one take scenes ever. Or hell why not Hardcore Henry?
Makes that fight scene from KINGSMEN so much better
Yeah sorry to tell you but it actually about 30 shots with whip pans stitched together.
matsta177 so watch MOJO lied?
What about Hardcore Henry? Everyone forgets about that movie...
Maxx Jaeger I liked that movie but its not for everyone
Gotta admit, I was suprised to see Oldboy.
"Or used movie magic to hide subtle cuts in the finished product". That's not one shot then, so that means half of these don't even qualify.
Well there is a difference between one-shot and one-take

quarantine!!! when the fireman was TRYING to say himself, the reporter and the cameraman from the "zombies" with an axe.
Imma pause this at 0:01 and think about how I’m gonna freak out if the hallway scene from Daredevil season 1 is not on this list and on the top 3
Feels bad
Wow no Atomic Blonde? That movie has an AMAZING uncut fight scene on a stairwell. I sometimes want to watch that movie again just to see that specific fight scene. It's that good. I was thinking it was going to be top 3, but didn't even make the list?
Man I love the kingsman
How is the stair scene in the protector not in this?
J Bo i don't know :/ the scene is Great
they put it at the start but didn't include it in the list. Ridiculous right? it should be number 1
Adam Fulton yes!!
One of the most impressive shots of all time! Love that movie! I immediately clicked on this looking for it!
I would argue that the kingsman scene isn't a one take as it has multiple moments through out the scene where a cut is hidden by a flying body, a gun flash or a camera whip. Certainly gives the illusion of a one take though.
Killomainia I'm pretty sure that The Revenant was also multiple long takes stitched together similar to what they did on Birdman.
They said at the beginning either full fight scenes or scenes that were seamlessly spliced together.
Joshua Hales Yea. Hell, the one in The Avengers is like 90% cgi.
Love the compilation of Fights -- Thanks for making my day more fun! I look forward to more. . . !
How are you a movie channel if you confuse the terms "take" and "shot"?
More people need to watch Man From Nowhere!! The actor wanted to do all the stunts in that movie himself which makes it even more authentic.
What about John wick
ADHIRAJ JOLLY one shot firefight ? But yeah, where’s John Wick?
I know a lot of editing tricks were used to make it possible but the elevator lift scene from Hardcore Henry was incredible.
What about the Club Scene from John Wick?
This is the earliest ive been here
Just came here to see if Kingsman's scene was #1. I have never been so disappointed.
It has cuts, shouldn't be on the list
Lt. Zetsubou you should read my comment
Old Boy hallway scene is far more iconic
you counted the daredevil hallway fight as 1 whereas there were 3 such fight scenes spread across 3 seasons.
literally none of the mouthbreathers in the comments know what Single-take means.
i don't believe in your list without raid redemption 2
Do you guys know what a one take fight scene is? Goodness gracious. "How could you forget Ip Man?" "Where's The Raid at??" "I'm surprised John Wick isn't on the list"...none of the movies have one shot fight scenes. Great action movies but not what this list is specifically about
Your lack of Henry disturbs me to no end.
Even before the vid started, I told myself if Oldboy is not # 1 then this list doesn't matter... they did leave out the knife fight scene from The Raid though
stairwell fight from atomic blonde and hallway fight from the raid
Where's the one take staircase fight from The Protector/Warrior King?
Batman Vs Superman's fight... I don't like the film but man was that dream sequence breathtaking
Okay.... Definition of "one take" not found....
HellishGrin460 what?
a guy Well, if you look up the definition of a "one take", you will find that it involves a continuous filming process done in one take without editing or cuts, not a scene that's been stitched together to look continuous. Some of these don't qualify..

We would say the hallway scene in Oldboy might contest The Protector. Both are done well.
Daredevils stair scene is a copy from raid. And u got the copy to that list. I would put the raid to the p1
