The Wii is imo the homebrew/ softmodding champion. So many Wiis are out there, and with games like MK Wii and Smash Brothers Brawl having their servers shutdown, the community has come together to not just add online play back, but additional content on top. With this new shop, hopefully we'll see a new surge on the Wii.
Oh my god, this is great news. I was sad when the Homebrew Browser stopped really working forever ago, so it's great to see it now updated. I haven't been able to use it in years now, and this makes me very happy. Looks exactly like it did when I used it back in 2012. The Wii was the first ever game console I messed around with homebrew on, so I'm very happy to see stuff still being produced for it.

To everyone like me who was struggling with it not showing up in the homebrew channel. You have to only move over the folder with lower case homebrew browser. Do NOT move over the setup guide and help or the read me. Just take that first folder and move it by itself to the apps folder. That finally worked for me!

@@Sreekar617 If I had the drive in the other USB port, the HBC wouldn’t be able to read the drive, so Im pretty sure I had the drive in the right port. However, the OSC mounted the usb device fine when loading it from my sd card, so I think its just a bug.
You might well get access to a hacked Wii with the Open Shop Channel because Nintendo shut down the Wii Shop Channel and it had games on it like Super Smash Bros. and Chrono Trigger that aren't on the Wii U Virtual Console, and games like the original Pokemon Rumble which you cannot download anywhere else. Those were classics ^-^
Guys just a quick reminder, for those who dont have a computer but want to mod you can do it on your phone however you will need an micro SD card and a adapter for the micro SD card. In my case i went to my local shop and it costed me like 7 bucks to get a 16 gigabyte one and while i did install the hack with my pc you could do it with your phone aswell.
Fixed Error 6 by clearing all internet’s setting and using connection 1 and re connecting it to the internet! Don’t have more than one internet settings
@@Ratatouillae This is what I did to fix error -6: It seems the Wii is not detecting correctly the type of Wifi it's connected to. Check on your cellphone what kind of Wifi you have (PSK, etc.). Make sure to connect to the 2 GHz network since the Wii doesn't support 5GHz. Then go to Internet settings and set your connection to the proper wireless network. Connection settings -> Change settings -> Right arrow - > Type of security [mine was WPA2-PSK (AES)] Last step, when you open the Hombrew Channel make sure you're able to connect. Don't rush into the Hombrew Browser. The Wifi symbol should stop flashing and pressing the home button on your wiimote should show you you're properly connected by telling you your Wii's IP address.
It works for me thank u. Note: Homebrew Browser might freeze since it’s pretty weak so yeah. Emulators for example your gonna have to download games on the SD card. And I tried to delete Wii MMC on Homebrew Browser and my Wii crashed lol. It still got deleted somehow. I love the Homebrew Browser
Thanks for tutorials all successfully installed and without a computer. This can be done with android otg card reader. I'm very happy especially as my Wii was free from the communal bins with 3 remotes 3 Nunchucks and 20 games and now more free games thanks to you. Very well presented videos and even a deadhead like me can follow them.
I have that homebrew shop over a year installed and is working excellent. Please make a tutorial how to create wads so we can install channels in the main screen.

I put the homebrew browser in my apps folder but its not showing up on the homebrew Channel. Does it matter that I unzipped the file with my windows 10 file extractor? im baffled why its not working.
I noticed at the beginning of the video that there is the WiiU transfer application on your screen. Does that mean you can do this in a WiiU on the VWii?

Everything works perfectly until it requests the homebrew list, at that point it hangs then reports it failed to receive the homebrew list. After several attempts it sends me back to the homebrew channel. Anyone else have this issue?

Put it in another USB slot. I'm pretty sure it only works on one of them

that application doesn't mean anything except that this is not vWii, iirc vWii has a different app to return you to wii u mode

It would still be nice for somebody to make a new shop channel that automatically manages the wads for you because I'm too dumb to figure it out
