It’s seriously disappointing and disheartening how many negative comments there are here. I thought this was a thorough yet concise demo of this pedal. I very much appreciate it and I thank you guys.

Sadly TH-cam is full of people who think they need to aggressively get their “opinion” across…or it’s just some idiot trying to start some argument! In the end every comment, good or bad, helps with the TH-cam algorithms so the videos get recommended to more people!

@@TSFAHTPSI’d like to aggressively share my opinion that you guys showcased this pedal very nicely. It’s nice to have a more recent video to check out over the majority of content for this pedal from 10-12 years ago.
You guys are much appreciated, as well as the comment from the other viewer 3 months ago. Kudos. 🍻

Huge thank you gentlemen. I’ve had this pedal for a few years and you just opened up some possibilities for me. You’ve got a subscriber now.

OK, I just picked up one of these bad boys (the pedal, not our fair reviewers). VERY nice. I don't think I've another drive that is so touch sensitive. The "overdrive curve" is set very sweetly. You can indeed play soft and get clean and then dig in for lush overdrive. It truly behaves like an amp in that regard, more so than any other pedal I have. And it's dead quiet, too.
Yes, you cannot always get unity gain between the boost-off and boost-on (helps to be in Blue mode), but it's nothing bad in my setup. The gain added is appropriate for doing leads live.
That said, the problem with the boost is that it adds a "predetermined" level of gain. I wish there was a way to add no more gain, but just ramp up the volume instead. Maybe this is the mod that Bogner offers (or used to offer in the past).

It’s one of the very best overdrives I’ve ever played...super versatile, super dynamic...it can pretty do it all...even pretty high gain stuff

Thanks for your reviews. It's surprisingly hard to find demos of pedals where the range of the pedal is actually demonstrated (or gain pushed at all), and isn't just low gain finger picking the neck pickup on a bloody strat or endless lead noodling without any rhythm work, chords or palm mutes.
Out of these bogner pedals I like the La Grange pedal the most but I've read some horror stories about reliability and it lacks EQ options. I've got a newer blue mini on the way and this review definitely helped me decide.
    Cheers.

I’d be very interested in trying the mini pedals next to the big pedals and see how close they get...the LaGrange is on my ‘want’ list...so is the Überschall ...one day

The red is more of a distortion this is an overdrive for sure. I have both I like them both but I prefer the blue.

Also, why do most reviews cover pedals like this w/single coil guitars? It would be nice (and more informative) to have some variety & hear these same pedals in both single coil & humbucker style guitars. Please, mix it up more in the future.

Well…if you would have watched the whole video then you would have seen that we use a guitar with humbuckers later in the video!

I couldn't watch more than 1/2 of the video b/c as soon as one dial or switch is adjusted whomever is making the pedal changes immediately moves & changes to another setting. In fact, it's so fast that a viewer can't even determine if they even like a setting before it's gone. I just think instead of rushing through the changes you should at least allow a viewer at home to actually hear any tones or nuances from a particular adjustment. It's just not informative to a person considering purchasing a pedal if they can't even hear one single bar of music before another drastic change has already been made. Also, my general observation about reviews are frequently single coils & not humbucker guitars still holds. I have strat style single coils but I also play a Gibson LPC & Historic as well. Lots of Fractal reviews are like that as well as pedal & amp reviews.

Hello I need a recommendation to buy an overdrive, I am undecided between this pedal (ecstasy blue) or the bb Preamp xotic, I am looking for something transparent that sounds defined, that sounds good in the clean channel and that also heats the tubes of my tube amp when want to use the overdrive channel. Apart from being versatile, what pedal would you advise me?

    • @TSFAHTPS
      @TSFAHTPS  4 ปีที่แล้ว

I've never tried the BB by Xotic...but this pedal is one of the very best overdrive/distortion pedals I have ever used...and it will do anything from an almost clean boost to a pretty heavy distortion sound

More preparation, less research and talky talky during the video would be a good idea. Made me want to find another demo to get a better idea of what this pedal is all about(so I clicked on the next one in the list), felt like I was watching an infomercial on some cheesy shopping channel. Check out the reviews by R.J. Ronquillo and Brett Kingman, that's how demos should be done...
