That's what makes him stand out from other protagonists. Not every story needs a Marvel-Type character without any flaws, since nothing in this world is flawless.
What’s great about this trilogy is that it really shows that Caesar was indeed flawed and mistaken in a lot of his choices. Maurice was right when he said “ape is stupid” because without Caesar, even with the added intelligence, they would have been hopeless in anything else. He was always smart, always had more intelligence than the rest but never could see it, and trusted them more than he should have. In the end, he realized that apes are just as flawed as humans, and instead forgave all who had opposed him and hurt him, leading his people to a new land to begin again, just without him to help. He did all he could, left them in a spot with hope, and that was all he could do.
6:39 "You are all home now. Apes are strong, with or without me" destroyed my heart completely and now 300 years later, we have Noa in the new Kingdom of The Planet of the Apes.
It was taught to him. Like it is the kin of man, leading us to adapt to it, to use it, and many of us are consumed by it, leading to the destruction of our world. But there are also many who escape it. Just as he does. They become leaders, a symbol of hope, a legend. Just as he did.
Great trilogy. The concept of another primate having our level of consciousness is amazing. To think that human beings could be replaced. It’s a humbling idea that puts our egos in check.
Arguably one of the most slept over trilogies of all time. From the graphics to the plot everything was top notch. Looking back at it, you will realize it all started when the neighbor was being rude to the sick grandpa. Caesar had to intervene and that started a chain reaction. Rise of the Planet of Apes is still my favorite. When Caesar shouts "No" and the silence that followed gave me chills. And the most bone chilling was when he held James Franco close and whispered "Caesar is Home" at the end. I really hope the give some sort of tribute to Caesar in the upcoming trilogy.
@@JackassJunior627 he's a sort of historical idol in the next movie, which takes place 300 years after his reign. His words are important for the apes in that world
@@adurskenplayz5984 I have seen it and Raka was the only real link. But I hope Noa will further explore and spread Caesar’s true teachings to other apes.
“Apes are strong. With or without me.” Hits so hard because, correct me if I’m wrong, but it’s the first time Caesar uses first person to refer to himself. And that’s just an amazing ending
You did a beautiful job on this! I especially like that you placed Koba’s killing Ash right after Koba saying Ape not kill Ape. That was the first thing I thought of when I first saw that scene. Easily to me Koba killing Ash was the most shocking moment in the trilogy!
SAME! I knew Koba was gonna kill Ash after he disobeyed Koba and made even more of a mistake by saying "Caesar wouldn't want this." Because I knew (even at the age of 10) that would hit Koba's nerves hard as hell! But Even though I saw it coming, it still really shocked me & gave me nightmares after I first saw that scene. It was THE darkest moment in the entire Trilogy for me... (I haven't seen Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes yet though so yeeeeeah...)
Batnerd… cesars story is a tragic one this video was fucking perfect…. you encapsulated cesars life amazingly well done. this video was exactly what i wanted you are a legend.. your editing was perfect all i can say is Thank You
Caesar went out like a champ. He left behind a legacy he knew would live on forever. He knew when his work was finished or unfinished. When it was unfinished, he kept going no matter what he would lose. When it was finally finished, he knew he had nothing else to complete. He was one other apes could put their full trust into and he knew he had to work hard to bring them to happiness. By the end, he knew his journey was complete. Caesar was a true leader.
Caesar's only failure was that he was never able to find a path where Humans and Apes could co exist. A herculean task with many obstacles on both sides, making it nearly impossible. Hopefully in the new trilogy Noa and Mae are able to build the bridge Caesar hoped to build
I think the 3rd movie hammered the point that only one species would be dominant in the evolution hierarchy. The Simian flu made sure of that, and Ceaser also realised that he doomed humanity when he led the apes out of confiment.
@@MickeyMouse-ud2xuthe humans lead themselves to their own downfall, not the apes, the apes didn’t ask to be experimented on. The humans were warned about the effect that the so called “Alzheimer’s cure” could have on people, yet they ignored it. The apes had no fault whatsoever
Tbh koba had a sad story. I believe no one is born evil, but life has a way of making it hard to believe in good. Unlike Caesar, koba didn’t have human affection and never saw they good side. Just the fact that they tortured, test and abuse them and he has so much hate built up in him. So when they realized humans weren’t completely off the census that brought back the trauma and pain he endured which is why he wanted them dead dead this time. He was stuck in his hatred which led to his downfall.
Sadder part there is a book in his view. There was a human he knew who was kind to him. She taught him and his mother sign language. He did know their good side. Sadly his darkness blinded him so much he ignored the good in humans
My baby boy, love him soooo much. He put real human leaders of today, to shame. All hail the great & beautiful 💚CAESAR💚 The last movie broke me so much, cried so hard.😢
In the OG series, we saw that apes learned to hate humans, only through a split timeline did things change. here though, we see that Ceaser loved both humans and apes, but knew their worlds couldn't be together, though he tried to make it work, hate from both sides and fear of the other created to strong a root system for them to escape. Ceaser may not be like those who took the name before him, but he is definitely someone who is worthy of being a king to his people, even if he had his own flaws. rest well Ceaser, may there someday be an ape worthy to truly inherit your name
I like how this trilogy shows that Caesar was no god he was just a ape that was a symbol of hope but still made mistakes
That's what makes him stand out from other protagonists. Not every story needs a Marvel-Type character without any flaws, since nothing in this world is flawless.
Mistakes like getting betrayed by his comrades and choosing peace over violence

Most underrated trilogy of all time, absolute masterpieces. Kingdom is following the same trend, I heard they have 5 more films planned.
