- Today we are looking at a new release from Certina,
the reissue of the legendary DS Super PH1000M made in a Limited edition.
A diver watch and a reliable tool which was used in the Tektite I & II project alongside the Super PH500m.

Fantastic watch & great review. This Certina screams seriousness, professionalism, action. That bezel might be the safest ever and i'm very impressed how they kept dimensions very compact in relation to the very deep rate.
After this amazing launching, we should ask us what will be the next in the divers collection... Certina is climbing up like hell, offering absolutely masterpieces with a truly brand's heritage.
I fully agree, they offer more and more exciting watches keeping a lower price below 1000 euros! :)

Got mine this morning I have a lot of dive watches no such thing as too many but very impressed with it I have a 500 which I love wearing but the 1000 is just a step up all round when you have both in your hands
That watch does it’s own talking, and it looks pure quality.

Certina rivals Longines with its heritage releases; over takes it from a cost V's quality standpoint.
It's a shame that this isn't available in the Australian market given its history as a RAN issued watch.
I'm tempted to buy one of the LE's - but it's not something I'd wear often. I'm happy to admire it from a far ... and continue to wait patiently for the 'Dark Knight' re-issue! ☻

Looks like a really sweet watch. I think the black dial would be my pick for two reasons. One, the limited edition text is terrible. Not something that should ever be put on a dial. Second, I love the yellow dial color but the yellow with the orange seconds hand does not seem legible. For me it’s the classic black for sure. Nice review as always. Don’t own any Certina but they are a fun brand to keep tabs on and I always like seeing a review of their stuff pop up on your channel. Keep up the great content.

Yes this watch is awesome. I had the chance to hold it in hands a few weeks back in a store in Lucerne, was close to buying it but I prefer the black dial and will get that soon. The robust feel you get with this is awesome but still they care about finish and details so that it's a piece you could wear everyday without getting bored of it. Great video as always!

As ever, fantastic production and clothing coordination! Certina are on fire at the moment. I must add one to the dive watch collection because not only do they have bonafide history in the dive space, but they are producing very high quality watches at very fair prices. That is unusual today and they should be commended for it and receive success. I never thought I'd say a Swiss brand would make Seiko look poor value, but the DS series really make a mockery of Seiko and others' (Doxa, Zodiac, even Longines and Tudor's) pricing.
Thank you James! True and valuable words. For this price range around or below 1000 Euros, Seiko has literally nothing to offer in terms of accuracy, finishing, not the mention history.

Love Certina, especially their back catalog. This watch is awesome! Love their Certina DS-2 Rotating Bezel a little more, especially since I do not care for plongeur style hands.

What a fantastic watch, very Seiko in its design DNA, but with a highly accurate movement and 1000m depth rating! And the same price as a SPB-whatever with only 200m and less good movement. Its the watch that Seiko should be making! Certina really made a winner here. How does the rubber strap feel compared to a Seiko rubber?
Every watch enthusiast would be honourished wearing this Certina model. It does seems lovely to me.
The increasing of level in this channel is awesome. I meant the production, the pieces brought for analizing, the script, the soundtrack, the video editing.

I have been considering the orange super diver for a while but this looks to have a nicer case. But I wish it had been a little more orange/less yellow. Just my own taste.
I’m considering a good diver and stuck between the Monta ocean king, the marathon GSAR, the Sinn U2 and possibly now the black version of this. Ball also made a really nice recently as well

Very nice watch
This release is very exciting. It is rare that I find a reissue to be nicer than the orignal model. The price is also extremely competitive. Think that this highly capable and well finished watch is about the same price, if not less, as the Hamilton Khaki Field Expedition, which was also released recently by the Swatch group. Sadly, they share the same Powermatic movement that will be problematic to serve by independent watchmakers. Not ideal for a tool watch that can be worn in remote places far from any AD. Recently, I had the opportunity to buy a new dive watch, and I went for the Squale 1521 in part because it uses a standard Sellita movement. (Great review as always!)

Thanks! So far, it has been great. It will work if you are looking for a a classic and straightforward design. It is surprisingly comfortable on the wrist with the hidden crown, it goes well with any strap, and it has just enough of a vintage vibe to recall the golden age of dive watches without being caricatural. It is still a real tool watch. Until now, I am also satisfied with its accuracy.@@BraveBeaters

I thought all new divers had to have a lume marker at the date position. I have the Certina Ph500 (thanks to your video), and it has a lumed marker at the date.
I wish my PH500 at least had an orange minute hand 😊
You are right, most of the vintage divers had a lumed dot next to the date. apparently the vintage certinas had none, had a clear date window. or a white minute hand :)
They need it to be ISO certified, like the PH 500M. This one isn't. Must have cared more about aesthetics this time around.
I know that you would be one of the first to make this video. I’m so curious to know from which shop you bought it because I pre order mine as soon as release almost two weeks ago but is still not been delivered by Certina in London.

It is the best watch in this range with this depth but has two issues: lume on the minute hands is not clearly visible in dark and the crown is difficult to handle due to the case curve above it
Better and better deal than the Doxa you showed. Is the movement one of those ETA ones that have issues with hand winding and servicing?

Eventually decided on this model. My first powermaric 80 and don’t know if I’m lucky but it runs +1 per day . My only ‘issue’ with it they should’ve added the same steel edge on the hands like they did on the hour markers. Especially the hour hand looks bland.
Out of the 200/500/1000 which one is your favorite? I’m torn between the 500 and 1000. The 200 is too similar to my CW Aquitaine . I do love the case design of the 500 but prefer the raised markers on the dial of the 1000.😅

I have a Seiko king turtle manta ray edition and a part of me wants to sell it to get this one as they are similar in shape case design. Also I love the 500ph

What the PH stands for? Plungeur hands? I just realized 1 thing: this Certina 1000m is 14.2mm thick…Omega Planet Ocean rated at 600m is 16.1mm 😲 what an achievent by Certina 👍

Love the design and history. Too bad it's a smallish watch that wears even smaller. I have the PH500 and it's not in my daily rotation only because it wears small. Great video as always!

The only downside of this watch is that the time i have gotten enough money for it that beautiful yellow/orange dial will be sold out... Hope they come up with new bright non limited colors in the future!
