Just bought the one with gray dial. I can't find the words to describe how beautiful this watch is live!😍😍😍
Few days ago I bought DS-2 thanks to you. Now you made me fan of Cerina brand. Thanks for great review.
haha, solid watch, enjoy it! Cheers!
Cheers to you! You’re the only youtuber covers certina, very underrated brand but well built
Teddy Baldassarre covers Certina and is also one of the only authorized dealers in America.
I have two Certinas a much underrated brand, this looks like a gentleman's "Captain Willard"😁
ahah True! Cheers, Alan!

Your videos have a sartorial professional elegance that is captivating.
It makes the watches you review all the more appealing. Shot and edited beautifully. I also appreciate how you champion some of the smaller less well known brands.
I love these case styles, and in this segment of the watch world certina offer great watches at great prices. I would go for the titanium only because I suspect it would be the most comfortable and after a year or two of wearing it would still look ok.
As a beater I would end up scratching the hell out of the highly polished alternatives.
Thank you as always
Thank you very much, Wisam! :) I am doing my best to highlight the watches, as they deserve :)
Got my hands on a DS-2 powermatic 80, silver dial, just a few weeks back and I am so happy with it. Really like the look of the turning bezel watches, something for the not too distant future.Thankyou for a great review and a great channel. Keep up the good work!
Thank you very much, Andrew!
Enjoy that cushioned silver dial, solid watch!
I liked very much the watches. I must agree, the grey dial with secondary Nato strap is best in my book. Certina is doing excellent job lately. Also, I thoroughly enjoyed this episode. Everything was spot on. From opening to closing scene, the narrative and everything in between was phenomenal. I have to praise you BB. Keep doing good job!
Great video, and nice to see Certina make a beauty of a watch. So underrated as a brand. I've had the ceramic blue PH200 and it's lovely on the eye. 👍🏼
Feels like an attempt at a much more contemporary design language by Certina. Nice update -- quality BB product, as always!
Technically yes, Michael, modern reinterpretation, as I perceive it. Cheers! :)
Wow, I love Certina as a brand and like the DS PH-200 & 500 but I think this DS-2 Turning Bezel is the one I'd go for, in the grey anthracite dial with bracelet. Great review, as always!
thank you very much! It is super cool, indeed!
Nice piece. Well-done, Certina!
Back on track and in time for the Swatch group releases! What do you think about this Certina DS-2 Turning bezel?
Cheers!
Certina did a great job with these. They didn’t fall into the same traps that seems to befall Longines when they release a model based on an archive model: no faux patina, no over the top vintage touches, didn’t make the watch too big etc - Certina used the old design as the chassis & built up from there
Great review as usual, I would certainly go for the grey dial, beautiful and elegant, I own a 38 mm ds action and a pH 200 ceramic bezel and I'm looking forward to see what the 38 mm look like 👍🏻 keep up the great work 👌🏻
A beautiful piece. Certainly one to add to my collection. The blue one is definitely the one for me. Great video as usual my friend. Looking forward to the next one 😃.
Thank you, Ian! Cheers! :)
Thank you for this great review. I am still not a Certina owner but I have the Tissot Seastar 2000 with Powermatic 80. I love this movement, as it fits in all kind of watches.
Back to Certina, I could not choose as they have so many beautiful watches with outstanding design. 😊👍🏻
Certina are such a great brand, I could simply have a watch collection of only Certina's. I have the DS PH200M (2020) and would love to add a DS-2 also. Great video, please keep them coming!
thank you! Solid PH200m, the ceramic one, right?
@@BraveBeaters Yep the ceramic one, with the black dial. It's fantastic on the mesh bracelet, dark brown leather strap or a NATO. A hugely versatile piece that me, embodies the mystique of a one watch collection or GADA. Although we all know that's not the point 😜
A really handsome watch indeed. I wish it was bigger, though. Amazing review as always.
Cheers! :)
42 mm 49 lugtolug would have fit perfect to me
Thanks for your review of the certina line. Not a lot of reviews on certina. I love how original and unique there designs are. I’m looking for a ds2 from the late 60-early 70s with the 12, 6, 9 numbers with a date at 3. Lost a bud for it on eBay and can’t find it anywhere.
can you share a link or a picture of the model? I've never seen a Ds-2 with a 3 6 9 dial. Cheers!
Very thorough review! Thanks!!
Cheers! :)
Very beautiful new models of Certina , i love them , thanks for showing.
I fkn love you so much for covering Certina you have know idea.
haha! Cheers!
Awesome watch! Thank you for review, Andrei.
Another great video brother!
Cheers M!
Great video but wished the titanium version also came with a titanium bracelet as well...
yes, me too :(
Looks really nice, but an orange minute hand on the titanium model would have been the cherry on top 👌🏻
true! :) the turquoise tone is basically the Sea Conservacy branding. all their divers are made in the same colored tones.
That‘s true and turquoise is also a nice colour! But I think, the original had a orange minute hand
In the last 2-3 years Certina is doing a lot of things right. On the stainless steel models maybe too many polished parts...but still desirable watches.
True, the brand is getting more and more interesting! :)
Great review
Thank you! :) Cheers!
Exciting! Good review!
Thank you!
I always wonder where I can find the list of Brave Beaters hall of fame list 🤔
I really love both DS2 models with or without bezels.
haha! They will launch more models from the Ds-2 line. I have to do a dedicated list of brave beaters! Promises!
Nice looking watches. The most important part of this video is your message: "Buy watches responsibly".
haha, yes, I will focus a lot on this statement from now on.
Can't wait to get one.
Great video, but you really got me with the 38mm in titanium. I have the current black 38mm and can attest to its greatness as a daily watch. And titanium would just take it to a whole different level. Hopefully they make the lug width 20mm though.
I am excited for that model as well. I think it has the same lug width of 19 mm.
Same i also got the 38mm in black but would prefer the steel than on titanium to each it’s own :)
Have no idea where to buy these or try them on before I buy! Great video and these watches are really cool
Cheers! It depends where you live, I know the brand is represented strongly in EU and Asia. less USA for now...
@@BraveBeaters I’m in Canada but yeah I get it. Looks good and I may reach out to my AD for swatch group and see if they can get one in
Im happy to see new releases from certina. I wish they will make new designs other than vintage looking. I like sharp edges like samurai has. Have you heard of the new 38 mm titanium diver?
Thank you for the vide..
Hi! yes, It will be reviewed soon :)
@@BraveBeaters awesome! Cant wait.. 🙂
3:13 Is the crystal flat or domed? It can't be both.
I bought the black DS-2 with the milanese bracelet that you reviewed on your channel and I really enjoy it. I was also looking to add the H-link bracelet for that one but then I noticed something that I also see on this model: it does not have the 2 usual half-links. That's very unfortunate, as you may or may not get a perfect fit. I really don't understand why they didn't add any half links for this bracelet, as the Swatch group usually has them. The milanese on the DS-2 also doesn't have half links, but that's not a deal breaker like in this case, because the size of the links is much smaller so you can fit it more precisely.
Hi Dragos, I am actually curious if the Turning bezel bracelet works with the 2021 Turning bezel. I will ask. I was super close to buy a red dial version last week :D honestly, I was lucky to fit the H bracelet without the need of micro adjustments (which doesn't have) :D But you are right.
@@BraveBeaters That's a great question about the bracelet. I was asking myself the same thing. The red dial is pretty cool, although I like the yellow sunburst gold plated version even more :) I haven't seen it anywhere in RO so far.
Thank you so much . Well done
Nizar
My pleasure! Cheers! :)
Excellent review! Thank you.
Do you know of any certina online retailer who can ship to Singapore?
CW SELLORS is where I get mine. They offer great service and value for money.
yes, it's helen kirkhoffer, the link is in the desription of the video, they ship worldwide as far as I've seen
@@BraveBeaters thank you!
@@BraveBeaters any promo code for subscribers?! Hahahha
Really love this brand and history Ds3 super ph 1000!!!! From the 70s
I really like the titanium with the blue accents
I am chasing a DS-3 to buy :D
Love the turquoise second hand👌👌👌
It super cool! True :)
The new Certina watch collection contains 90% vintage versions, what are they doing? Is Certina the ,,new,, brand for +60y customers now?
DS 38 in titanium... damn.. i really hope it will come soon..also do they have any interesting quartz every day gada watch incoming?
Another great video!
Cheers! :)
I like everything about Certinas except for 2 things: 1) "powermatic 80" written on the dial and 2) open caseback (the mechanism is not decorated and there are scratches on the details, there is nothing special about it to showcase it so I'd prefer some cool metallic engraving
Branding wise you are right! The Powermatic is a questionable movement and it shouldn't appear on dials in my opinion. you are right
It isn’t questionable mechanism, it’s very good mechanism. What is exactly questionable about it?
Sorry to bother you Iam a big fan need your advice between certina ph500 in orange Or Edox orange Newtonian
Very good job, mate! 👍
I'd love to see a GMT variant of this watch.
Not a hater here, but what I can´t stand is the "dress watch" dial and hand set on a diver, or in the other way, feels like a dress watch with a diver´s bezel. Love your channel Andrei :)
Wow! Hopefully, they release one in 38mm!
all looking very good... but the titan version give me a James Bond feeling ;)
can be :D yes
This is the only certina I would actually purchase. I feel like most of the others are a little to large for my liking. Hopefully this is a trend and they start to come out with more conservative sizes.
This is indeed, well sized and slim.
Take a look at the 38mm action diver
Too bad that it has aluminium bezel. I think it gets scratched pretty quickly. Or how is it? Great review
Aluminium. As the older heritage versions, Cheers!
@@BraveBeaters Yes. But do you know how scratch resistance is those aluminium bezels ?
Great looking timepieces
Very nice video 👌🏻. Thanks
Thank you Gino! :)
The titanium has my attention for sure.
it's super cool, especially at 66 grams. Cheers David!
Bezel and head turner 😁⌚️
HAHAH! true!
I don't want to be a prophet, but we may be disappointed with the new Certina DS Action 38mm Titanium. The bracelet clasp is just as cheap as the standard 38mm stainless steel version. The bezel is aluminum which reduces glare on this watch, it is not as conspicuous as the Certina DS Action 43mm titanium and the ceramic bezel on the 43mm version is gray or black depending on how it reflects the light, dark black dial and gray the color of the titanium case creates an amazing charm to the watch. The color of the luma does not quite match the CERTINA pages. I would be really happy if the indices shone exactly the same during the day as at night, i.e. turquoise. It's a belated answer to trendy TIFFANY watches. Regards
Thanks for the insights, Dariusz.
You might be right. Let's see. I will soon receive it. And see what's the deal. :)
Recently, we talked about Certina's leading innovation compared to other brands in the Swatch group. Certina was one of the first to release fully legal diving watches with true ISO in small sizes. In addition, professionally made with a ceramic bezel in a size 34.5 mm that is deadly for the competition and a tasteful clasp. These are truly luxury watches without compromise. The snobby concept of a crude tool watch can already be put between the books. The competition is lame and has trouble catching its breath. There is a tendency to go back to smaller sizes. No one follows the path of INVICTA watches anymore. Let's hope the era of small UNISEX watches will return. Rolex still sells these models.
These are nice 👍👍👍
It might be better but it doesn’t come close to that vintage cushion case especially the originals with the colored dials were stunning. One of my favorite all time Certina designs. This just doesn’t feel like the same watch anymore.
Uuu. Turning bezels. Me likes!
yes yes yes :D
Is there any other way I can message you I am in New York
I don’t understand why they make them so big. It’s supposed to be a vintage watch but they make them at a big modern size. It makes no sense
It looks too...uninteresting. Nothing special or different about it.
I like it! The cushion I assume it's a thing of love or hate.
This useless brand can't even put a working website online... pointless...👎
I hope the ds action diver 38mm will have a ceramic bezel insert.
