Actually, Bird was drafted the year before his rookie season by the Celtics . ( not even a top ten pick I believe ) They had a year to sign him and barely got it done on the last day.

I am not into the WNBA, I haven't even watched a championship game, ever. Don't mistake me, I love women's soccer, tennis, volleyball, Olympic sports, just not the W. Sns. But, I do like WNCAAB and I love The Big Ten, so I will support Caitlin and I hope she does amazing as a pro. I will try to tune in to her games as much as possible, but only if they are FREE online. I hope Kate, who went to Las Vegas Aces, also does amazing as a pro. I have a soft spot in me for Gabbie Marshall and I hope she does great in her future, but also the rest of this Hawkeye team.
