@@MsMaggles2 Yeah, she did say that. If she gets cut, she can join the Fever with Caitlin. Kate's and Caitlin's ex-teammate Monika Czinano was drafted in the 2023, but she got cut and then she played in Europe.
She was either out of eligibility or decided not to use her extra covid year, same as Caitlin. I don't know as much about basketball, but assuming if it's anything like how nfl draft works, her college coaches were probably able to do an evaluation and get some intel on her chances of being drafted & how early. Considering where she went which seems right around the middle, if they knew there was much of a chance she probably figured why not give it a shot, is my guess
She ran out of eligibility and went to the WNBA combine last week and I guess the Aces like her. Awesome story
@TheODLawson23 she won't get cut the top 20 picks hardly ever do on any team unless she's a bust. Her salary will be a rookies salary which is around 75000 but theirs plenty of room for her to earn endorsements and sign up for a wnba marketing deal

She's going to have to battle for a roster spot. Martin had one very good season out of 5 with Iowa. Before this season she was just a role player. It is tough to make a WNBA roster because there aren't that many teams.
If she gets cut then she should go to Indiana with Clark, everyone is a good duo with Clark but they were besties.

This was the best pick of the draft, such a surprise. I was hoping that she would get picked in the 3rd round by the Indiana Fever. But 18th is incredible. Really hope she makes the roster.
I haven't watched a lot of WNBA - that will change this year. But just based on the way she plays,. I feel like you'd want her on the floor. She won't by your star or generate her own offense, but she ain't gonna hurt you out there. She hits jump shots and D's up. I'm rootin for her.
