I think it’s important to realize there are big differences between one LED and another. So looking at a high quality LED 4k tv and a budget QLED tv, you might not see a huge difference. But you will see that difference between a cheap Walmart brand LED tv and an expensive say Sony or Samsung QLED. Just keep an eye on sales and take into consideration review sites like rtings or something that do a lot of comparisons
Haven't upgraded my 32" LG TV from 2007 up until this year. We love our LG 55” curved OLED! It cost a lot, but it fits in our small corner and there are almost no reflections from it’s shiny screen! I don’t think that they make curved screens because they don’t wall mount, unless you have the perfect corner.
Uhm.. Curved screens DO wall mount. Atleast most of them. But a curved screen is really pointless when it's small or don't sit really close. You will never get the effect it's supposed to have. Only huge screens or PC monitors for gaming makes sense curved. That's also why they almost don't make curved TV's anymore.. Nobody wants them. And sitting on the side is useless. I can see it kinda work in a corner but you will never get the intended effect of the curve with just a 55"... Try 100" or more with 3m distance. THEN it makes sense :P
it's amazing how the eye/brain combo ADJUSTS to whatever it is looking at. In other words, once you're done looking at the SCREEN ITSELF and get immersed in what the screen is presenting, the blacks not being black enough and the brights not bright enough suddenly goes away because you are focused on the CONTENT, not the TV itself.
Oled is king I won’t go back to led ever the only downside to oled is potential burn in but Best Buy 5 year warranty covers burn in so it’s a no brainer oled has the best viewing angles, pure black levels IMO there is no better tv and prices are really reasonable now
Not all qled TVs are brighter than led TVs. Different panel types affect the quality aswell. My 8 year old Samsung TV is a lot brighter and has better colour accuracy than my qled TV. I think picture quality is actually getting worse on modern TVs. I'm not a fan of HDR content either. Colours are better and images are brighter on SDR. Although HDR content is sharper I much prefer SDR.
Had a bunch of tv's I was interested in. A cousin of mine recommended getting QLED. So I looked at my list and went: Nope Nope Nope Nope Nope QLED Nope Was left with a grand total of one option, which made things pretty simple
What is the difference between crystal uhd and regular led? Also Is a crystal uhd tv with supreme uhd dimming the same thing as qled but without the qhuantom dots? And what does the qhuantom dots even do?
I remember when you bought a TV with no other letters. It had 1 channel dial, no remote, and 3 dials buttons for volume, brightness and contrast. And yet I didn't die. /s
And still many of the budget qled TVs has more blooming / backlight bleed than Samsung crystal uhd. With black level actually being deeper on the crystal uhd in daylight. Color accuracy and peak brighness maybe better on most qled TV.
Led, lcd and qled tvs all use very similar panels. Led refers to the backlight, qled had another panel sandwiched into the lcd matrix to improve colour. But all essentially lcd panels.
Let me summarize 8 minutes of which half of them are commercials, if you have the money buy a QLED.

I think your sony tv was qled aswell jon....triluminos = Qled...sony just name the d*mn thing differently....typical sony....the tcl maybe just brighter tho....but interm or color and motion, i think your 4 years old sony tv gonna perform better...
You are correct
You can only tell the difference on HDR. QLED is way better with HDR.
No wonder why you are the favorite TH-cam presenter of my favorite presenter, GeekyRanjit. Awesome content 👏👌👍
Oled is king I won’t go back to led ever the only downside to oled is potential burn in but Best Buy 5 year warranty covers burn in so it’s a no brainer oled has the best viewing angles, pure black levels IMO there is no better tv and prices are really reasonable now
Just bought a Samsung Q90T 65 inch 2 weeks ago, BEST THING I EVER BOUGHT. Looks soooooo good for PS5
I got a Q80T and I'm also very impressed at the game quality and sports quality of this range
Loved the video today Jon very nice
what is this tv thing you speak of how long is the keyboard if its all the way over there on the wall?
4:20 I had to check the date of the video 😂
Had a bunch of tv's I was interested in. A cousin of mine recommended getting QLED. So I looked at my list and went:
Nope
Nope
Nope
Nope
Nope
QLED
Nope
Was left with a grand total of one option, which made things pretty simple
What is the difference between crystal uhd and regular led?
Also Is a crystal uhd tv with supreme uhd dimming the same thing as qled but without the qhuantom dots? And what does the qhuantom dots even do?
samsung marketing 🙄
The ting website is asking for imei. How do I get that?
Dial *#06#
Or going into “settings - general - about” on an iPhone. It’s also printed on the box and in really tiny print on the back of older phones
So q80t Led is not good?
Couldn't really see the difference in store.
Nice thoughts
I currently have the Vizio P-Series quantum I was looking at getting a Samsung qled
I remember when you bought a TV with no other letters. It had 1 channel dial, no remote, and 3 dials buttons for volume, brightness and contrast. And yet I didn't die. /s
Do QLEDs get burn in?
No man. Only OLED does
Im happy with just HD
And still many of the budget qled TVs has more blooming / backlight bleed than Samsung crystal uhd. With black level actually being deeper on the crystal uhd in daylight. Color accuracy and peak brighness maybe better on most qled TV.
Didn't the first type of tv he mention used to be called LCD?
Yes those were backlit differently with a fluorescent light as opposed to LEDs as I recollect and were consequently a lot thicker and less bright?
Led, lcd and qled tvs all use very similar panels. Led refers to the backlight, qled had another panel sandwiched into the lcd matrix to improve colour.
But all essentially lcd panels.
Ccfl is the backlight used for older lcd tvs.
MicroLED will be best but time consuming to manufacture
