Arguably had the best first touch of all time. Could receive it from any height, any speed, any angle and control it, turn on a dime and distribute it or score. Absolute legend.
Dennis is the type of person, who tends to UNDERSTAND things. This video shows exactly that, he understands the law of physics and movement of the ball. It seems like, before he touch the ball, he wants the ball to be placed at that exact spot, and he already know which side of the ball he has to touch, along with how much power does his touch needed. This is a figure of GENIUS. Due to this ability to understand the ball, he can always be one step ahead of everybody around him. For example, if he facing a goal and there's a ball in the air coming towards him, you CAN'T know what he going to do. The opposition's GK can't predict what he's going to do. Will he control the ball? Will he take a volley? Will he simply touch the ball and does a lofted through pass to his teammates? He is GK's nightmare. That's why in this video also shows that many goal of his looks so easy and almost looks like the GK was stunned and did nothing? Yes, Ladies and Gentleman, and that is why, DENNIS BERGKAMP is dangerous. HE is a MAGICIAN, ONE of the BEST EVER.
As a Arsenal fan of many years I can honestly we were spoilt with the likes of Dennis, and there will never be another producing that kind of quality for so long.
Lionel Messi expressed that he feels he could never achieve the same level of artistry in football as Dennis Bergkamp, highlighting his admiration for Bergkamp's unique skills and creativity on the pitch.
Started watching football in real detail in 2012 and as a City fan I always thought there was no one in the PL who had a better first touch and control than Mahrez but this guy’s Zidane/Messi levels on control if not better.
Just realised now watching this that Bergkamp and Zidane had similar style/touches/approches to the game. Football Precision elegance personified. The great players from that era of football was beautiful to watch.
Zidane, Bergkamp, Messi, Maradonna have the same first touch. and it all comes from 1 man named Johan Cruyff. look up his highlight and you see the first touch it is precisely that. that is why i believe Johan cruyff is the football player that was the most influenced for the absolute top legends of this sport.
Be careful nowadays there are a lot of fanboys those who will disagree with you those who never seen the beautify of the ball, crowds atmosphere, Spirit and diehard fans of 90s and 2000s era, when you missed to watch a game that you had to watch on Tuesday's as a Highlight. Not like today's 🌎 that you can watch every Media outlets.😂😂😂😂😂😂
Definitely one of the greatest! And actually far too little praised for his incredible qualities that are not inferior to a Ronaldo de Lima, Zidane or anyone else!
When other players do stuff like this is looks very flashy, but Berkamp is so incredibly economic, not a move wasted, every touch is made with the next line of action in mind, so understated….
Wenger revolutionised the premier league with diet, training, tactics, mentality etc. and Bergkamp was central to instilling that. Bergkamp is a true great for what he did and how he did it. Poetry in motion
I totally agree. I am a 75 year young ex Dutchman and have seen many great Dutch players but Dennis for me is the cream of the crop. I was born in Rotterdam and we don’t easily praise anything that comes from Amsterdam😊 but Dennis is just amazing.
As an Arsenal fan i am so proud to call Dennis a Gunner own if he wasnt afraid to fly we would have won a Champions League no doubt he was the maestro of that Arsenal team
For many years now, I've been looking for the video of a play I'm quite sure I witnessed live from the 1998 World Cup by Denis. I can't recall which game it was but I think it was early. I was watching the game at a sports with co-workers here in the US and this is what I remember. One of the defenders booted a long, high clearing kick (over half the pitch) that wasn't meant to be a pass that Denis chased down on the right wing, and as the ball came down he misjudged it by just a little bit and had to sort of stretch his leg out at the last possible second in order to PERFECTLY, and I do mean PERFECTLY trap the ball against the ground as if it hadn't been in violent motion a nano-second earlier. The ball just stopped moving under his foot like magic. I recall the broadcasters marveling at the play and saying he was the only player in the world that could pull that off as they replayed it 3 or 4 times for all to admire. I don't think there was a goal or anything memorable that happened after that remarkable trap so it doesn't seem to make many highlight reels nor be worthy of a standalone video apparently. But does anybody remember what I'm talking about and recall which game (1998 World Cup) and around what minute this happened?
From the top of my head Holland played Belgium, South Korea and Mexico in the group. Then Ireland, Yugoslavia, Argentina and Brazil (and Croatia in the losers final). All these games can be found online in full. Have fun :)
Just saw a list of the 20 most legendary Dutch footballers, where Bergkamp was No 1, above Cruijff and van Basten. Althoug not a Gunners supporter I remember his fantastic moments for 'the Invincibles' with delight. One of a kind.
That's not right. In The Netherlands he is considered as a fantastic player, but not above Cruijff and Van Basten. He absolutely had the technique and elegance, bit wasn't so decisive as those 2.
The shortest back lift on a shot, you will ever see. He generated incredible volicity and accuracy from his feet, especially outside of his boot, combine that with eyes in the back of his head/incredible balance and movement for a big man, he was special, a once in a life time player.
Bergkamp and Ljungberg had a great playing relationship, Bergkamp playing Ljungberg on the run in the box for a clear goal chance so many times. I am not sure if Ljungberg would have made it at Arsenal without Bergkamp.
Arguably he has the best first touch of all time. Combined with his vision, a very deadly combination. Also part of the strongest Arsenal team of all time. Yet they failed to win the Champions League.
I feel like he's the closest player in terms of style to Cruyff, who was a mixture of Bergkamp, Henry, Modric with a little bit of Van Basten as well. He's in my top 3 for a reason, a genuine goat candidate! Enjoy 🙂👉: th-cam.com/video/c7sjWOrNGsQ/w-d-xo.html
He should have won the World Cup with The Netherlands in 1998, when they lost undeservedly to Brazil in the semi's. In that case I'm sure he wouldn't have been under rated and would have gotten the reckognision he deserves as such a brilliant player.
But people make the mistake of thinking they were slow. Mainly with Zidane. These guys had decent speed actually, especially when they were younger in their 20s.
Comme Juninho estble meilleur tireur de coup franc de tout le temps. Denis c'est le meilleur pour le controle de balle de tout le temps, c'est sa spécialité toujours suivi d'un but ou d'une somptueuse passe décisive.
Been a Chelsea fan for a long, long time. And have to say, I haven't seen many better players than Bergkamp. Technically phenomenonal. Could pick a pass, score, incredible ball control and balance, first touch. The complete forward. Must have been an absolute fucking nightmare to defend against.
Unreal talent! One of the most technically gifted players of all time. Pure and absolute genius!
Bro ur everwhere!!
Look up Dejan Savicevic, Di Genio.
He is so precise, no need to use excessive energy when shooting to the goal, everything is just right - timing, technique, angle. Brilliant.
Arguably had the best first touch of all time. Could receive it from any height, any speed, any angle and control it, turn on a dime and distribute it or score. Absolute legend.
i find people don't give him any credit for that
true. but messi has the best first touch
@@VladRadu-tq1pg😂😂😂
@@VladRadu-tq1pg Not Messi no. The only players that rivalled Bergkamp in terms of first touch & elegance was Zidane and Pirlo.
@@VladRadu-tq1pg What a clown. Get out of here.
Definitely one of the best Dutch players I've ever known... Dennis the magician!!!
My favourite player of all time. He was special.
Technique, Elegance, Sublime, Panache, Composure......Dennis Bergkamp was one of a kind just ask Thiery Henry
How the hell did I not appreciate how brilliant Dennis was. I stand ashamed.
Genius
Beautiful
His vision and passing, space-awareness is unsurpassed. Its up there with Zidane, Messi, Cruyff. No 2nd fiddle to no-one.

I rest my case...

That goal in the 88th minute against Argentina with this commetary gives me still goosebumps.
Serieus? Want Jack van Gelder kon niet irritanter zijn dan toen

The best highlights selection ever for the Ice Man. Thank you 🍻
Juste incroyable, quel artiste !!!
The most elegant footwork ever
Those first touches❤😢... Dennis had the ball magnetized to his foot damn😂
When it comes to Dennis, words always failed me!!a rare thing in itself!!🎉❤
Ça c’est des joueurs qui donnaient envie de regarder le football. Lui, Zidane, Ronaldinho.

Elegant,graceful, strength, intelligence, effortless effort
My.favorite player of all time! Thank you for this upload ❤
Cool to not only see Arsenal footage this time.
Ditto brother ❤
It's been 25 years since that GOLAZO v. ARG in the QF of France '98. Still an incredible piece of technical brilliance.
This man couldn't score ugly goals. That just wasn't in his system.
This video belongs in a museum. Pure art. ❌❌❌
Definitely one of the greatest! And actually far too little praised for his incredible qualities that are not inferior to a Ronaldo de Lima, Zidane or anyone else!

different class of player, a gem really
The only player who played in EPL that every fan of EPL like him.
Much respect.
The little fella juninho has a shout too
He should be in the top 10 of best players ever.
Top 20
I think he is for many folks.
Had Holland won it in 98 he would have been top 5.
He always seemed to know what the opponents would do and outsmart them. He had it all in his repertoire..... The greatest of the Dutch Masters..
The greatest of dutch masters was Johan Cruijff, then you have Marco van Basten and Dennis for spot 2.

There is 3 footballers that had that elegance and touch i have seen berkamp, berbatov and zidane
1st touch was filthy
That New Castle goal was something else
No defensive backline could've stopped it
Some more rare near-goals, thanks for those.
Henry had two Masters of Football Technique...in club he had Bergakamp..and in France he had Zidane... Unbelievable technique and talent
That was The Non-flying Dutchman who transformed opponents to Paper plane just with one touch
