Excellent, now to fit an indicator stalk to my Series II, along with that hazard switch

I’ve always found the SII indicator switch quite easy. As long as you don’t try to operate it with your foot.

@@jodiethemorrisminortraveller The problem I face is an unknown history, I got the car fitted with a toggle switch under the dash for the indicators. nothing on the column itself. I suspect a mishmash of years, as it's registered as a 53, but has the central speedo on a split screen as in late 54 to 56.
Investigations will be required when I get more time.
