I think what makes me frustrated. Is that you expect men not to understand menopause but you don't expect women who have gone through menopause to look at you like you're crazy.
I had a hard time in late peri and still am having somewhat of a hard time in post with my gut biome and also my body trying to adjust to temperatures... And when I speak to older friends In their 60s even their '70s. They look at me like I'm crazy. Maybe they had an easy transition? But it's like no one has your back... And I think that's what women need most is to know someone understands.
I have never been so sick in the last 2 years since menopause... I went from being somewhat healthy to Losing a lot of friends because I was too sick to go out or not feeling good enough.

This is what makes me angry too!!! My mom and older sister act like I'm the only woman who is having a difficult time. They also think it's strange and abnormal that I'm 54 and still not officially in menopause. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Yes unfortunately other women can often be unsupportive because they are one of the blessed few that sail through or more commonly have symptoms but don’t associate them with menopause and tell others that menopause isn’t an issue for them.

It is unnerving and hurtful that you never know how you're going to feel from one day to the next. It is difficult to plan for a fun day because the anxiety, pains are unsettling. My "bacon" has been overcooking this year. 2016-2024 has been an unsettling ride especially with the stomach issues and anxiety. 💪💜 Thank you so much Kari and Ladies.

Having no other women in my life that understands any of it. That’s the worst part for me.
This channel was a blessing. I found it halfway thru age 49 and of the 100 bizarro symptoms Kari shared I had 95. The amount of stress, fear and trepidation that had infected every minute of every day was almost immediately alleviated. I will forever be grateful. I no longer felt alone and unheard. I’ve shared in the comment section and have had camaraderie with fellow sufferers. We’re not crazy and we’re not alone.
Ever single woman I know irl either had a hysterectomy after having children and were put on hrt or had partial hysterectomies or other. All of them had children. Not one of them have had a life like mine. Started menstruating at 11, never got pregnant, had endometriosis, did lupron depot at age 21 for 9 months after endoscopic laser surgery, didn’t do hormonal birth control. I had heavy, heavy, heavy periods like clockwork for 35 years. Then every 3 weeks, then 5-6 weeks apart, to now it shows up whenever it feels like it. I suppose that peri actually started around age 46 but shortly after I turned 49 my whole system went off the rails. Right after 50 I started to lose muscle mass. I find this very irritating. Then flabby gut is bad enough but now loss of muscle ta boot? It really super sucks. ffs

The lack of empathy to women from care givers in general! It is beyond frustrating.
    The stigma surrounding menopause too.
I had sudden onset menopause at 33 years old due to a complete hysterectomy and was put on HRT. Fast forward 20 years, I stopped the HRT and I'm going through menopause FOR A SECOND TIME! All doctors/gynecologists etc. I've seen have either said "that's not possible" or "I've never heard of that before, I don't know", accompanied by a look of contempt.
The constant leg pain that NOBODY can figure out.
The weight thing too for sure! I've worked very hard to lose 40 pounds in the past 2 years and it hasn't been easy. I'm walking and exercising more, but differently. More core less cardio.
I've restarted HRT on a low dose after 3 years off of it, and I'm taking Colagen 1 & 3, so we'll see how it goes.
Honestly I find almost everything about menopause frustrating; all of the above plus the lack of sleep and energy, the anxiety etc. Le sigh.
However I find I'm a stronger better person for going through this and taking my body into my own hands so to speak lol.
Thanks for letting me rant a bit Kari!!!😁

Heath anxiety is the worst for me, I feel as if something is always wrong with me. Pain here and there, not knowing why? I stopped goggling medical symptoms, google seems to make you feel like you’re dying. Google only gives you the worst news ever. That only skyrocketed my anxiety. I learned my lesson, never again will I search on Google. I just look up menopause related symptoms, that’s it! If I don’t have my period next month, that would be a year, then I’ll be at menopause. I’m not sure if menopause will be any better, hopefully my symptoms with anxiety will be less. Who knows?

@@alicereed5368 OMG, same here! That’s the reason why I don’t google anything related to heath symptoms anymore. My doctor told me to stay away from goggle lol. Googling will only up your anxiety. I’ve learned that if I have any medical questions, I just call my physician office directly and talk with a nurse. If I google that it would probably tell me bad news and the cycle goes on, anxiety up, can’t sleep, and over thinking everything. So please take my advice STOP googling. I hope you will find some relief, I know it’s not easy, I’m still dealing with heath anxiety myself. I’m telling myself that is not as bad as what I’m thinking. Talk my self out of feeling that way, it works at times, but what really helps is telling someone what you are feeling. I tell my husband about it, he tells me nothing is wrong with you, he reminds me that it’s my menopause driving me crazy. He calms me down and makes me feel better about what I’m over thinking about my health. So if you have someone to talk to about it, try to let that person know what you’re feeling and going through. Feel better, know that you’re not alone. ♥️

I relate to much of this! Going to the doctor for perimenopause is like needing to get your car fixed and then calling a plumber. It's sad that the medical establishment doesn't care about women's health unless it's about looking good or fertility. Women in peri and post-meno are largely having to treat themselves through this life-changing process. Thank you for all you do to educate and provide a safe space! Very much appreciated!

OMG! The over-the-top anxiety out of nowhere is infuriating! I’ve always been a very relaxed, easy-going kind of person (albeit still an introvert) with healthy coping mechanisms to deal with stress - one of which was a quiet drive to clear my head.
Now, however, even the thought of having to drive somewhere causes me so much anxiety that I have nearly become a hermit, and I will find any excuse to NOT drive.😢 The craziest part: I’m perfectly fine to go grocery shopping, go out to eat or run necessary errands so long as someone else drives. Even crazier? Between 3-5 years ago, I taught 3 teenagers to drive without a single anxious or intrusive thought and was complimented (by each of them) how great I was teaching them because I was so patient with my instructions when correcting them and because I never overreacted to a mistake enough to “freak them out”.
Seriously…what happened to me? (Oh yeah…perimenopause.)🙄

I'll be 52 in March. February of 2023 and November, December of 2023 and January of 2024 i skipped my periods. Now February 2024 i had a period and it was a full 7 days.
My question is, would you think this is late perimenopause or? Im so confusedcause December 2023 my dr tested my fsh hormone levels and it was 27.5 which she said meant post menopause, CLEARLY im not post. I skipped 3 periods in a row and then had another one.
I agree with everyone, I prefer to stay home now due to i never know how I'll feel in a day.
I quit my job and got a work from home job doing prior authorizations for medical company based out of California as i live in Utah.
Anyways this is awful. I have friends who in their late 20s had hysterectomies and tell me theyre sorry om going through this but they never really had symptoms as they went into surgical menopause at a early age but dont remember having symptoms.
Id rather have a hysterectomy and get rid of perimenopause and go straight to menopause just to get rid of all the perimenopause symptoms.
My mom also had a full hysterectomy and worst thing shes had is occasionally hot flashes. She too says sorry you go through this but she too avoided the perimenopause symptoms as she went straight into menopause also.
I have a fibriod on my uterus and am hoping at my next ob appt i can ask about hysterectomy.
Also my endocrinologist prescribed me bioidentical HRT. He said he only likes to prescribe it for hot flashes but i could try it for all my other symptoms from anxiety, nausea, nervousness, dizziness, fatigue etc.
So i got a genetic test march 4th to see if i have cancer Gene's before i start my HRT.
Icant live in panic anymore, any bad news or sudden scare makes by bloodpressure go sky high. Im always on edge from high anxiety.
I quit caffeine, i dont drink alcohol or anything just water.
My heart will take off out of nowhere and beat up to 120 for no reason.
Ive had full medical work up from echocardiogram stress test,to full lipid and metabolic panel, all fine and im healthy as can be. Just feel like death all day everyday. Feel faint etc, ringging ears, dizziness.
God Bless and help us all❤

To understand part of what our bodies are going through we need to understand that our bodies are trying to get back to homeostasis. We store fat because our bodies are using that fat to create estrogen. This is to offset our ovary depletion. That’s why it’s so extreme. It needs time to adjust. I think I understand how you feel....I feel the same or pretty similar, I'm 59 and have also been a very active person with a passion for my garden. Last pre-spring I started feeling unusually tired, lacking energy and not looking forward to the start of the gardening season. I was like unplugged. Just the thought of carrying a watering can or pulling a watering hose to water my beloved flowers or vegetables made me sick. My boyfriend backed me up...he installed irrigation hoses in most of my flower beds. Anyway...my gardening season last year was kind of slower, kind to myself, not focused on performance, on getting everything done in a short amount of time. Compared to many previous years, I did not hesitate to sit down, relax, enjoy the view of the garden instead of doing everything at once. Last fall, we got a cold earlier than usual. I missed all the autumn garden work because my joints hurt in the cold and wet weather. I allowed myself to let it go and take care of myself. Being more warm (dry heat), not doing heavy physical work, giving the body time to regenerate. Now another pre-spring is here. Bulbs and perennials have started to sprout in the garden. Today it was around 14 ° C. I was in the garden for about 2 hours and managed to clean a few smaller flower beds from dry leaves and last year's stems. I'm happy about it, I no longer make pre-imposed demands on myself. I pay attention to my body's signals so that I don't overdo it... because I tend to do that when I forget that it's early postmenopause and my body needs to cope with it, get to homeostasis or at least get close to it. Be kind to yourself❤

    3. Magnesium, raw probiotics, vitamin d, and omega 3 vitamins.
    4. Walk barefoot on the ground or grass to get electrical stimulation in your body. Don’t forget to get some sunlight too, not too much.
    5. Very light exercise. Walking is good. Too much made me feel sick.
    6. Avoid fried and spicy foods if you have digestive issues. Remember drink raw cabbage.

you can be endocrinologically menopausal even at young ages. Takes blood tests to test your estradiol level and preferably more than just once. Like ideal to have a few and average them or to see a pattern. I read in a well known medical book that even if you have a hysterectomy in your 30s that you are likely to have menopausal blood levels of estrogen within 2-3 years after the surgery ) no matter what age you are when you had it. I did. I had high estrogen prior to a hysterectomy and it went clear down to 20 pg/ml * which is very low within 3 years afterwards) The one and only good ob I had told me I had the estrogen level of an 80 year old woman and I was 40 at the time. Drs are incorrect in their thinking when they say that...... Get another opinion .from a different health care provider. Maybe a GP or a functional dr., holistic dr..

Not just the weight gain, but it is right in my middle, where it wasn’t a huge problem before. All my younger years, I was mystified by all the middle aged women who looked like they were pregnant. All the big bellies, even if they were fit everywhere else. Why did no one ever tell us it is from menopause?? My father in law passed away and we were on the road a lot that year. My pants were fitting tighter and tighter right at the waist. The scale said I had gained 15 pounds, but aI wasn’t eating any more. Yup, blood work the following year confirmed it was menopause . Grrrrr

My insulin level nonfasting was 111. Now, my husband thinks that I have diabetes. I lost weight during a month of fatigue. Lost more because of diet and exercise. Now, he thinks I have an underlying condition. I don't think so. I feel alright except for anxiety, pains, and brain fog /forgetting words😵‍💫

111 isn’t high especially if you ate within an hour or so of testing.

Same for me, it's been 7 weeks now I'm having gut issues. Started off with diarrhea which has eased a bit. but gas has not stopped. Now I have anxiety and am extra careful.with my meals. I'm 47 in late peri-menopause

Yes it is BS, agreed. to answer your question- sleep- difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep. I do ERt and cannot do supplements .I don't function well physically or mentally if I don't manage * get 6-7 hours of sleep. The estrogen patch helps but its not perfect for sure. the fluctuations of estrogen are hard on me which are due to increased stressors, sickness, or even too much exercise.. Its better than it was on this particular patch but not anywhere near perfect, it just helps to a certain point , which I will take.....

I already felt terrible. Fibromyalgia and Ehlers-Danlos syndrome type3. Menopause is wow. For me,the worst is the hot-flushes. It's been 4yrs now. I was already exhausted. I already had night-sweats. I already needed more toilet time than anybody I know.
I can't honestly say that there's much difference in how my body feels. But it is definitely a stressful time...

My husband doesn't believe me when I tell him how I feel about a lot of things that I'm going through 😞my life has changed so much over the past 3 years and I feel horrible physically. I have brain fog a lot and it's scary. Also trying to be happy and can't gets tiresome. My doctor is going to try to help me next month so I'll see what happens 😔

I believe men as women go thru mental, physical and emotional changes which is to be expected with our aging bodies. My husband and I have definitely seen changes and have together made adjustments which have proved really helpful in making us feel "normal" again. We have changed our exercising from Cardio based to weight training with bands, eating Carnivore, OMAD (one meal a day), and try to cut out a lot of the stressors in our life. I'm on year two of menopause and am in better health and state of mind than before menopause hit. I say give all or some a try. You never know.

@@rosepalmer3525 there are different ways to do it. Some eat strictly beef others eat all meat including fish just seasoned with sea salt. Main point is to eliminate all carbs and sugar which includes sauces. As with the OMAD baby steps get u there. Push back breakfast little by little to crash into lunch, push those to crash into dinner then for dinner throw down. With unlimited coffee, water, bone broth in between. No sugar of course. You do even one of those by itself and guaranteed you’ll see results

So well said!! We women need ..Women clinic with all the wo mens specialists working together .
With a floor only for research.
In a retreat setting. We deserve this in our society. Would be a big benefit for us and our community.. Would also save money and time.
Anyway that would be a dream but I'm a believer.
