@@LearnSomaticshi, I hope you can reply to this message. I wanted to book a 1.1 but I don’t work due to my chronic pain so unfortunately I can’t afford it at the moment. Will save up. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia a few years ago due to the chronic muscle stiffness/pain. The main problem is my thoracic spine pain and swells, right shoulder is constantly raised and tensed, stomach is constantly clenched (I release them when I’m aware but it tenses back up again…), neck pain into the jaw and base of skull and then bottoms of feet. My posture is hunched over due to the tight muscles in my chest and stomach too.
I am in so much pain everyday and there’s so many different somatic exercises, which ones should I be doing when the pain is basically everywhere? Thank you x

Old lower back injury. Backpack r side as a teenager. Nothing was done. No doctor. No treatment. I became a doctor. I was fit. Walking running. Back backing. Married at age 26. Ist child age 28. I had spasms mid twenty resolved with Voltaren injection. Then total of 3 children. Walking funnily after the 3rd. I had a l ankle injury tearing lateral ligaments probably before the second child. 20 years ago I saw the chiropractor and was treated for the r si joint. Then I slipped and fell tearing r rotator cuff. Surgically repaired and they put r arm in a sling for 6 weeks. The last injury was disastrous. Spasm r lower back and r shoulder. R side became contracted and I gave up. However last 8 months getting treatment. Chiropractor. Massages for spasm. Thati massage. Directed pressure point therapy. And targeted exercises twice a day. Rest periods when in spasm. I am getting there. Somatic exercises helping a lot. Plus hip mobilistions. L ankle prevented me from crouching. Now I can crouch again but feet not quite flat yet

@Learnsomatics Feels great. One comment…bringing your arms down onto your torso is not as easy for those of us with breasts as it appears to be for you. You may want to suggest if it’s okay to separate your arms to clear your breasts and then bring them back together to clamp down on your torso. Will go check out your other videos now.

Hi Catherine, glad it felt good for you. You make a good point! Yes it’s fine to open the arms to clear your bust. Or link them in a looser way. Adjust for your comfort. Thanks for watching!

Hello, tension in your chest, trapezius and lats can restrict arm movements like this. Follow along to the videos below to release those areas and free your shoulders and arms.
