I just bought a surface book 3 for college! I’m majoring in biomedical engineering
Getting one of these in 15" from work... can't wait! I understand its got short comings and is really pricey, but for free, can't complain!
Getting mine (SB3, 256SSD, I7, 13.5') tomorrow. Thanks for the great info on all your videos. Made the $2000 price tag easier to swallow. More importantly, I'm now feeling much more confident that this is the right one for me. Keep it up dude!!!
So this lapstop is actually better than I expected, it just works. I'm okay with the thunderbolt 3missing, but oh boyo wow if they would have packed the keyboard section with bluetoot. So that you wold be able to use this lovely keyboard, while detached from the tablet...

Everyone please note that the surface book 3 has really bad screen glass durability, I cracked mine after using to for like 3 months, and I never did anything that was really hard on it.
just ordered the 32gb 1TB SSD version... first time I've used windows since 2005 (been on apple), wish me luck!
The sturdiness of the Surface book depends a lot on the location of impact. On the sides op the lid it's very tough, but not so much in the middle (quite logical, you can't ignore construction laws). My closed 13" Surface Book 1 once got a cracked screen, because a (quite large) bowl was placed on top of the lid.
Got my SB3 delievered last Friday and am absolutely loving it. Came from a Thinkpad X1 Yoga Gen1. The pen with the SB3 is so much better! Having a 15" tablet to take note and read is pure luxury. Putting it on the base, give me exactly the power I need.

Does it have the same display issues like the SB2? By issues I mean the "temporary" burn'in of the display. My SB2 is driving me insane sometimes. Apparently both 15" laptops have the same display.

I just got my surface book but I don’t have all those camera features?
Having had BOTH the SB2 and SB3 they made some nice changes on the SB3. I didn't know about the whiteboard mode (good to know though my education days are over) but I DID know everything else here.
Is the USB port a quick charging port if used on a phone? If not, got to take a charger and a qc battery, prolly. Qc is a must unlessyou like long charges.
Any recommendations for USB C docks with SB3, preferably with two HDMI out or one HDMI and one USBC video out.
