Thank you and overall, one of the best reviews I've seen on YT regarding this great budget scope. But, at 11:32 I see purple fringing over horizon lines in the middle of the image above the target, Yellowish green by the vertical edges. The field is not flat and there is some image distortion. Some decrease in contrast. Yet at this price point, as you say, one of the top choices. I really like to know a comparison of this with SVBony's 20-60x80mm Spotting Scope, the SV401 model as I suspect that is even a lot better for just a little more cost that may well justify the merits. Thumbs up and I subscribed.
You're quite right. That's why I wanted to film through the glass so you could judge for yourself. When I filmed this vid I also filmed my review of the Barska. My opinion was subconciosly skwed by how bad the Barska was.
Nicely done. Your site was the third I looked at. It was easily the most helpful. I'll come to your site first next time. Thanks. About the scope: took this to the beach to try it out. Wow. I wish I could attach pix. I used the camera attachment and took photos with and without the scope. There's a man selling hot dogs on the pier (I think it's ~ a mile away). With my camera I can't even tell what's out on the pier. I agree on some of the construction notes (e.g., the lens caps are too loose. I'm sure they'll be lost soon.) Also, the instruction manual could be better. Took a while to figure out how best to use the scope. I'm still not sure the camera attachment is attached properly, but, I'll work on that later. But these are minor concerns compared to how well the scope magnified. Bottom-line: seems like a good deal for ~$60. I'm impressed.
@@MoondogReviews Yeah. At first I bought it just to see the moon and that was coool. I live In a city with some light pollution and I can still see it kinda clearly. Hello thank you from france . very usefull for me cause i am very interested by this model. . Merci pour vos prises de vue je suis tres interessé par ce modele.
Hi, I like that you use the same "objects" to view & targets from scope to scope. Subbed. What head is that on your tripods, none come with a nice head like that. Bench rest shooter. I have the SV Bony 20-60 x 80. Hard to see .223 holes @ 150 yds. Ordered their MAK scope and camera to try. On backorder.
That's an Ulanzi pan ballhead. The pan feature is more for landscape photographers and not needed for spotting scopes. The cheaper non-pan version is this one amzn.to/3OnjPQ5
That's a huge ask considering I don't have a 300yrd range anywhere within 3hrs drive of my home. And the authorities do get a little suspicious of guys putting up targets in random parks in most cities.
Got here from your 50mm review. Thanks for pointing me here. Looks like this is the one for me given the distances I plan to shoot. Can I get your opinion on straight vs angled though? Coz svbony has straight scopes with the same power as this one
Straight is best if you shoot a lot from a prone position because the angled would put the eyepiece too high up and you'd have to reposition yourself every time you wanted to spot. Angled is better for most folks who shoot mostly from bench, though you may need to get a shorter tripod in either case. If this model had a rotating mounting ring then angled would 100% be the better choice.
Check out my review on the Celestron Landscout th-cam.com/video/sjZExTbB4I4/w-d-xo.html which has a rotating mounting ring. And if absolute sharpness is required, wait until this coming Sunday when I'll be finishing my review on the Athlon Talos.
Hi, I am getting the "MAK" scope today , SVBony, looks like if I am not using their camera, I need to buy an adapter (SA404) and an eyepiece to use as a "regular" scope. What eyepiece do you suggest for target spotting at say 150 out to maybe 300 yards? Thanks. Froggy
Hi Moondog, the caliber is .223/5.56 so small holes. I have some targets that "display" a bigger hole but hard to tell the group size. I got the svbony mak scope and camera running just now, some missing instructions on connecting to wifi. but figured it out. Will take it to backyard now (from my desk setup).
