The whole thing feels magical and does everything simply and easily. I never thought it would be better than the old one and cursed Apple for making me get a new Magic Keyboard I now appreciate why and how essential it is to taking it to the next level. The M4 chip deserves it. You sit in front of it and it is hard not to say "WOW" and keep the smile off your face.
I got the M1 iPad Pro with the Magic Keyboard that released alongside it, and that combo has turned out to be one of my all time best purchases. If you’re thinking about getting the new iPad and the keyboard I don’t think you should be turned off by the price of the keyboard, because I’m confident you’ll love it for years to come. It’s simply worth the price.
I'm sorry but the lack of ability to put ipad in the drawing mode makes this totally useless for all the artists, which they absolutely market towards, so I'm confused why they didn't think of this. If this could fold forwards in front of the keyboard or backwards for a tilted tablet access, it would be a really new and irreplaceable accessory. 😢
@@DT0me7624 it's not though. The angle at which the folio hinges in the back is meant for using the ipad as a computer, not as a drawing device. You'd need to be able to tilt it back further, like the regular folio.

I’ll be getting a 13-inch Latop sleeve to carry the iPad/Keyboard around in. Something with corner protection and keep the iPad from spilling out if I drop it.
What is the usb c charging port for? Does anyone notice the rocking of the keyboard no matter what position you have it in or if you have it on your bed or desk?
However great the track pad is, there are times when I want to turn it off. On my current iPad Pro I can't do this. When I play certain games where the track pad has no function, just a touch of my arm or sleeve the game clears and restarts. Apple has offered no solution to this. All I want is to be able to disable it in some way. Will this continue on the new iPad Pro?
I agree with all of this. I have been loving the keyboard experience and blown away at how it took my all-time favorite typing experience and actually improved it. My favorite thing about the keyboard is that it it much sturdier than the old one - it’s not constantly falling over in my lap. This is of course also due to the lighter weight of the iPad itself but the keyboard is much sturdier. My only criticism is that, when the iPad is closed the hinge on the back looks really stands out (not in a good way), but that’s not a big deal.
I liked the old one... it worked when I needed it and was better than anything else. However this one is at another level, if I could dual boot Mac OS on my pro I wouldn't need my MBP. The typing experience to me is on par with my MBP and better than most Windows laptops... of course it costs about as much as some of those as well :)
I think I‘m the only person that prefers the old Smart Keyboard Folio to the Magic Keyboard. I feel like the iPad is meant to be lightweight and the folio was so much lighter and does exactly what I need. I don‘t really want to use a trackpad with my iPad. The only thing the folio lacked for me is the backlit keys. Otherwise, I think it‘s a better fit for the iPad.
So I rocked the Smart Keyboard Folio for a long time bc I agree with you. Didn’t want track pad and liked the different angles I can put the iPad in. Plus being light weight. I did buy the new 13in M4 with the Magic Keyboard. It is game changer. I like the iPad being elevated higher for my FaceTime/zoom meetings. I do use the track pad more then I thought I would. Almost to the point no more finger prints on the screen. But…movie watching isn’t the best and it wobbles.
I immediately ordered the iPad Pro 13 inch (basic 256 GB model) plus Pencil Pro after the event and got it delivered yesterday. Some (well, most) people claim it's an expensive purchase but I didn't even have to think twice to draw my creditcard. This Magic Keyboard though, at this price? Man, for about the same price you can get the regular iPad 10th gen. I have no idea what to do at the moment but you've swayed me somewhat in the direction of getting it. Not sure I'm happy about that ;)

I have the new 11” iPad Pro M4 with the Pencil Pro and the Magic Keyboard and am thoroughly enjoying the combo experience (well, maybe not the pencil) but in all the reviews, where the escape key is mentioned none of the say what that key does! So please, explain what the escape key is used for as I haven’t been able to find anything it works with 🏴
One thing I love about the Magic Keyboard for iPad is its' rigidity. Unlike Logitech Combo Touch or Apple Magic Keyboard Folio, the Magic Keyboard does hold the iPad itself steady, which is helpful in protecting my iPad from launching into the air if I ride a bus and we ride over a bump on the road.
That’s absurd. The Logitech is an actual protective case, unlike this one. I can tell you which is more likely to save your iPad from a fall, and it’s not this one
I picked one up a few days ago at Best Buy…I must say the additional 45W USB charging port is probably the most compelling feature of this $300 keyboard? I need Apple to fix the defective Assessibility touch function after iPad OS 16.7 broke it though…
Hi When i start to type a blue square around the edge of my screen comes on, & when i write a word & what a space between the words then it appears & I don’t get a space between words. I am using the iPad Pro 13 with the Apple MK. Thank you. Tyrone
I’ve found the space bar to pause and arrow keys to skip are glitchy in the TH-cam app. They intermittently work/stop working on mine. Not sure if you’ve encountered the same.
Hi Chris, the fact the screen of the iPad does not get scratched, is due to the kind of rubber(silicon ?) area around the keyboard. It is a little bit higher than the keys and the Aluminium.
I just bought my ipad pro 11" and this keyboard today. I was hesitant to get the keyboard due to the high price tag but after just 2 hours of using it I'd say it is so well made and function that it is worth it. I have no regrets parting with my 300 bucks for this. It almost makes it into a laptop. The only issue I have seen and not sure if anyone else has this problem is when I get my OTP SMS messages when logging into my accounts with 2FA there is no area on the iPad that shows the 2FA code at least when the keyboard is attached. So now I have to check my text and enter the codes manually. That is really annoying and I have to see if this is being caused by something else like forwarding enabled on iPhone which I suspect is not enabled yet. Other than that it is way better than I had hoped.

I agree -- the new keyboard is *amazing*. I think I like it better than my MacBook Air keyboard. Typing on it is a breeze. I still find the trackpad a little jumpy at times.

I got mine and the new Apple Pencil pro yesterday but I have to wait until mid June for my max out 2TB M4 iPad Pro w/ matte screen and 5G cellular (which is the reason for 1 month delay according to Apple when I ordered right after the video-event. Oh well. And to respond to the naysayers and chronic complainers here….. The M4 iPad Pro runs iPadOS yes!!!….. the best tablet software that there is on the best tablet hardware on the market…. The Magic Keyboard doesn’t allow docking in portrait mode. 2. The Magic Keyboard doesn’t rotate backward to allow easy note taking or viewing in portrait mode without removing the iPad from the dock. 3. Like with all Apple keyboards, there’s still no separate delete and backspace keys. The Magic Keyboard effectively transforms the iPad into a laptop, and if that’s your goal, then the Magic Keyboard does the trick.
Really dislike the new low viewing angle and it positioned farther back. Also the metal back scratches everything, and weight balance is off, and has a tendency to fall back. Returning it and going with a third party solution.
I just traded my M2 12.9" iPad Pro for M4 11-inch iPad Pro, along with the keyboard - finally, Apple addressed the keyboard issues, I can see myself ditching my MacBook Air & shifting to 13-iinch iPad Pro a couple of years from now...r
How about emoji keyboard access, they forgot about that, sux 😢. Logictec way better for the price because of the greater angle of motion, it’s an ipad we gotta write on it for goodness sakes, possibly a return for me.
My IPad charging port doesn’t work anymore, and so, I watched to see if you would’ve told me that I could buy this to charge my IPAD. You didn’t. So the presentation was basically of no use to me. 😢
Just buy a macbook air then. It doesn't make sense that they sell three keyboards and not one of them enables you to use it as a drawing tablet. You know, with the pencil they sell?
Appearance wise, I like the previous version of the Magic Keyboard, especially the white option. I think Apple dropped the ball here. The new aluminum silver with the white keys and the space black with the black keys are not aesthetically pleasing. It just doesn't give the iPad that "wow" factor like it used to =/
The weight of the Magic Keyboard is a deal-breaker. Too heavy where portability is an important feature of the iPad. If the iPad docked and became MacOS then I'd understand the $300 price tag but otherwise it's also too expensive.
And where is the backlit keyboard? Meh. I’ll look elsewhere. I just wish Brydge had better quality over the long-run. If Apple had a backlit keyboard I would go there first.
Best combo = IPad + Magic Keyboard (Bluetooth) + Magic Trackpad. Cheaper and modular across your physical workspace. I opted out of THIS accessory simply because my iPad is vulnerable once detached. Can’t place it in a case 💀 this accessory has the huge con of NOT folding over. That’s such a turn off
I know I’m not the I it one to spend that $300 and have issues with it. Mine doesn’t even work after just a year and a half. I will never buy one of these again.

It's a little surprising that you didn't notice the tiny rubber lib surrounding the keys that acts as the cushion to protect the iPad screen!

I was disappointed with the 11 inch iPad M4. Went back to my mini 6 and I love it. It makes more sense for an iPad than the bigger ones.
I dont get the haptics - checked it is turned on in the trackpad settings but still nothing.

I wished the outsides were metal too so I won’t have to worry about the bottom getting dirty and ruining the material over time.
It's also much more unstable. The iPad is further back and now the iPad tips over more easily.

My IPad charging port doesn’t work anymore, and so, I watched to see if you would’ve told me that I could buy this to charge my IPAD. You didn’t. So the presentation was basically of no use to me. 😢

Appearance wise, I like the previous version of the Magic Keyboard, especially the white option. I think Apple dropped the ball here. The new aluminum silver with the white keys and the space black with the black keys are not aesthetically pleasing. It just doesn't give the iPad that "wow" factor like it used to =/
The weight of the Magic Keyboard is a deal-breaker. Too heavy where portability is an important feature of the iPad.
If the iPad docked and became MacOS then I'd understand the $300 price tag but otherwise it's also too expensive.

I opted out of THIS accessory simply because my iPad is vulnerable once detached. Can’t place it in a case 💀 this accessory has the huge con of NOT folding over. That’s such a turn off
