How many miles did you get out of the transmission? Is this a ecoboost? Hard to believe auto industry allows service complexity like Volkswagen bug and bmw, with no class action lawsuits. Thanks for sharing 👍.
in the auto industry, if there is a transmission concern. we change the fluid, if that doesnt fix it, then we slap a trans in. if you know how to build transmissions then build if you want to. but if the fluid smells like an ashtray, then most likely the clutches are gone. the steel clutches are burnt. needs completely rebuilt anyway. faster to slap one in. came in to check on YT to see if anyone has done one of these, im a certified GM tech. and one of these rolled in the shop
hello, I dont agree with you, anyone can remove and install a transmission, but very few people can overhaul. including myself, self-thought. I assure you that you as tech will be more valuable in the market. but sometimes yes its cheaper just to replace the transmission depending on costs of overhauling vs replacing.
These transmission are known to be bullet proof if maintained right. You have to neglect your transmission maintenance for it to go bad. These are not those CVT type transmission.
People you do not have to take subframe out. I did my 2022 3.5 ecoboost. All you need to do is raise motor and tranny, gives you enough room to change filter out. These people are following stupid service data garbage. About 20-30 mins you can have it done
yes all the solinoids had a good resistance and i checked them for clicking with a battery. and i did try a oil/filter change first with no luck. that trans was smoked i ended up replacing it.
Yep. Comes out fairly easy as long as you have as smooth driveway and a sturdy jack with good wheels. I used a motorcycle jack. I would not recommend doing it alone, get a second person to help hold it steady.

thats what i ended up doing. bought a rebuilt one from ford and swapped it in. cost an arm and a leg.

Is there a way to thread a new anti roll sway bar without dropping out the subframe?
