Fully agree. She MUST at least get a cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine, surely. Going forward it would also be great seeing her fully join the MCU when they introduce the X-Men. Would probably be easier/better to have her appear as X-23 as opposed to them bringing in a new actor to play Wolverine after Hugh.

13:44 Palpatine did the same thing when he was courting Anakin--he played the bumbling fool on Grievous' ship; he could have saved himself, but he wanted to see Anakin in action, and he wanted to corrupt him. Qimir was testing his pupil, he needed to see how far she was actually willing to go. Don't we as people do this too? We rarely show our true selves to people we don't know well, but as trust builds over time, we do.
I think Sol knows this is Mae--he spent the entire season up to this point calling both Mae and Osha by name, so why did he go with "she" and "your sister" at this moment? This mission was a bust! He just lost everyone on a mission that was supposed to extract Mae. He wasn't going to make this mission a total failure. Instead of calling Mae's bluff, he went with it! Get her @$$ on the ship!

What are the implications of this reveal? In fact, we can hear this theme at the start of the episode too, when Osha is coming to.

Qimir went from "some random character" to "the MOST interesting character" in this series within 5 minutes. You'll learn more about the helmet and the vambrace(s) later. I have my theories about Qimir at this point, but take every word he says into account. I mean EVERY word. He's telling a lot about not only himself, but about "Dark Side" Force users. "The Jedi say I should not exist".... and he's absolutely right! Go back to last episode, as soon as the Jedi saw him, out came the lightsabers, and they went on the attack. He literally defended himself. Once they knew what he looked like, his only recourse would be to eliminate all witnesses because, as Palpatine said in Episode III, "The Jedi are relentless. If they are not all destroyed, it will be civil war without end." This series is bringing the Jedi under scrutiny, and I'm all here for it.
I have a TON to say about all this, but I'll save it for another time.

The helmet and vambrace that the Stranger is wearing is imbued with a metal called cortosis, which is mostly from legends but has appeared in a couple canon books and comics too. First time it’s been used onscreen though, very exciting. It can short out plasma weapons (not just sabers, but blasters too) but it’s much more brittle than beskar, which is why Jecki could break it. It’s extremely rare and powerful/valuable, so when a new vein is discovered, it usually becomes a massive mining operation almost overnight.
Weren’t they 100% cortosis? It’s a very brittle metal, which explains why they both broke apart during the fight. It didn’t matter, though. Cortosis increased his erratic style in the heat of battle, and it was enough to give him the upper hand.
I’m unsure if it was pure cortosis, seems more likely to be an alloy to me (because it would take an awful lot of cortosis to make a whole helmet, much less a vambrace too) but the cave in the next ep does seem to have a fairly significant-sized vein, so I guess it’s possible.
@@jasonmarbach The planet he's on is currently not yet named, but it appears to be the only place in the galaxy that has huge deposits of it. Qimir set up shop on an island that has easy access to what he needs.

Acolite episode 5 is the best star wars thing I have ever seen.
These fights and choreography surpassed both the Phantom Menace movie and the clone wars episode.
That helmet and arm armor is made from Cordosis metal it was in Star Wars Legends and in Star Wars Canon in Thrawn first book Where he was with Anakin on mision during clone wars. And in Vader comic during Imperium.

yeah we as the audience are trained so much when it's obvious that we automatically think it must a red herring. I'm so sad for Jecki, this was her last trial before becoming a Jedi knight
I like that we're getting more backstory but this show, man, so many cool moments, so many slow af moments... really wish this show could be remade w/ a whole ass different editing team ... also, congrats on the new job Madison!

Easily the best episode of the season, thus far, with arguably the best lightsabre action seen in live action? (Maybe only just behind Qui Gon & Obi Wan vs Maul and Anakin vs Obi Wan). Just a shame we couldn't have had more episodes like this. I'm all for non-action episodes that character build and help develop the plot, but that requires a certain level of dialogue and acting to help facilitate that approach to a scene......something which, unfortunately, this series has lacked. But this episode was a banger.....straight 🔥

I've been lukewarm on this series because its been difficult as a non-bookreader to connect it to previous movies and shows. The more I rewatch it with reactors and hear the different observations, the more I appreciate it. I think you'll enjoy Ep. 6 and hope you'll watch it before Ep. 7 drops. I'm expecting Ep. 7 to be really good.

'솔' is a genuine name in South Korea tho. Maybe not common but it exists.
I also knew a girl who was born Dasol(다솔) but only went by Sol.
Also not to be pedantic and annoying (I feel like I failed at that lol) but Seouls spelling and pronounciation (서울) is different from Sol(솔) too.

@@exessen1684 I know the name of the character and the name of the city is spelled differently. However, I did not know that was a genuine name in South Korea. I am embarrassed because I am South Korean. But I have lived 99% of my life in Texas and have only been back there twice. It is just humorous to me that is the name they chose for him.
I love everything about this show...except the characters Oshea and May...which is unfortunate as they are kind of the main characters. Lol Enjoying the show regardless.
I am just here to watch the characters I disliked get killed.
