The unrehearsed "real" unboxing is always good. I understand how it is more difficult to narrate when viewing the boots for the first time, though. I get the impression from Teik's unboxing videos that he knows beforehand, from his research on the model, what he will talk about. And then he just goes through the mental checklist from bottom to top of the boots. This Thursday model's sole is a bit chunkier than what I normally prefer, but it's good to see them getting into stitchdown and "beefier" looks.
I just noticed these the other day and they are tempting. I noticed them because I was looking into buying their Captain boot, for a more dressy/casual look. And of course these distracted me - but I’d have to actually work in these things and I already have plenty of boots for that. But I’ll tell yeah, these look very versatile. I am using them as light working boot on my property and also walk in the forest. If these would have been available back then i would have bought these Challenger for sure. Looking forward for your review.
I almost purchased these 2 days ago, but watching reviews I saw many comments saying that Thursday messed up on these and didn't use the right last for this type of higher heel. People who have purchased them have been experiencing alot of heel slip because their feet are slipping forward towards the toe. I decided i didn't want to risk it and spend over $300 on a boot that might not fit correctly. I instead went with the Jim Green Numzaan. I received them earlier today and really like them. They of course are really stiff but actually aren't too uncomfortable.
Another buyer of these said they only got one pair of laces too. And the leather laces are long so you can wrap them around the back and cut them to your preferred length.
Good morning, Ryan. I love my logger boots for very specific reasons. Having foot issues, the arch support of a Pacific Northwest really makes standing on my feet all day at work much more comfortable. Also, something with the logger heel really helps my posture, and I normally am free of lower back pain. For some, they are a function over form boot, but my style leans a little more towards the chunky boots anyhow, so it works out.

The hard thing about the TRUE unboxing is that you don't know if they fit or not or there is some other issue that then the people might rush to buy them w'out knowing they run two sizes too small or whatever, like many Thirsty models, among others.
Most the Black Label leathers were already sold out before I got the email or something, but I wasn't going t' pay extra for horsehide that I'll ne'er wear, anyway.

The wrap around lacing helps lock in your ankles when working or doing active things! I tried it the other day since my laces were long enough and oh my god it made such a big difference throughout my day at the worksite!
Perfect for the wannabee lumberjack. Is this cosplay? Kidding aside, nice boots for the very informal user. Again my usual complaint…why are boot lasts so large that you need to size down, wear thick socks or add an insole? Make it simple, true to size.
I got the same boots in the same leather. certainly very serious and challenger is a very fitting name. This boot truly is flexing in the face of the big PNW guys because they can offer 90% of their boot for 40% of the price
Eh. More like 50-70% of the boot for 50% of the price (frequently on sale). Interesting none the less. I'm a Thursday hater, and I'm considering a pair anyway 😂😅
Real unboxings are better. This boot is too weird looking. The dressy lasts with rugged lug soles don't go well together (like oxfords with wedge soles) and any serious work boot would have screws throughout the sole. Poser is right. I do like Thursday's stone rambler black label chelsea but I won't wear anything from this brand.
Never been a fan of those types of heels. The tapered inward looks like a heel from a boot used in a burlesque show. They look a bit effeminate. And why go with stitch down construction when they already were using the best construction method? Other than that, I think the boots are great value with all of the premium materials.
@@averyj.steele1074 Anyone that you have met.? I have spoken to several cobblers and they are all in agreement, welting is the gold standard. Also, most of the top footwear brands around the world use it because it has proven to be the best. Stitch down construction is good, but it is economical and cheaper way to produce footwear.
"Best" construction method is subjective but GYW is ubiquitous because it's easier and cheaper to do than hand welting, not because it's the best. A lot of people prefer stitchdown over GYW for various reasons.

Maybe you could have a clock off camera to reference instead of looking at your watch.
The wrap around lacing helps lock in your ankles when working or doing active things! I tried it the other day since my laces were long enough and oh my god it made such a big difference throughout my day at the worksite!
Thanks for sharing!!
They nice bro👍
@@bonecollector1968 thanks!
Yo bro, don't put your address in the video!
You can see it clearly on the shipping label.
Good catch. I’m at this address temporarily so not too worried but I do need to be better about that. Thanks!
Think a true unboxing is better. You can save the more in-depth stuff for a full review
Thanks for the feedback!
Maybe you should be reviewing slippers? 🤷🏻♂️
I'll pass on those jungle boot style heel and soles.
Wish they make more boots without that huge logger and rubber style
@@Angel-AbC9 same here
the toe box looks tight
It’s definitely wider than the Captains
Not usually a Thursday Boot guy, but these are really good looking
They will look like trash in 6 months with any wear like all the other Thursday pleather boots.
That heel looks 4 women’s … I don’t like the heels but I love the material they used
Never been a fan of those types of heels. The tapered inward looks like a heel from a boot used in a burlesque show. They look a bit effeminate. And why go with stitch down construction when they already were using the best construction method? Other than that, I think the boots are great value with all of the premium materials.
Goodyear welting is far from the best. I've never met anyone who would claim it's superior to stichdown. That's funny.
Thanks for your thoughts!
A lot of people prefer stitchdown over GYW for various reasons.
i stick to PNW
It's because it's all leather and none of that cheap foam that it is so heavy.
I tried to get into this video but you seem to have some kind of hangup with checking your wristwatch frequently. As a suggestion, please don't wear a watch in future videos. Other than that, great video. Thanks.
Your unboxing is great, please don't start staging your video's too much and faking shit. you obviously need a better unboxing knife, but please don't start advertising and displaying "BLADEHQ " like Weston ; he's pushed that company down our throats so hard I'm puking up bladeHQ knives. all they sell is overpriced Chinese "crafted" shyte. seriously slave labor factories . Get yourself a Higo No Kami, I believe that's the correct spelling if not , I apologize I don't know Japanese but my daughter is currently studying it at 10 years old. but that is a craft that the Japanese take to the max in making the best blade possible. Matter of fact I would order you one ,on me they're like 12-20$ for a basic one which is all you need for your unboxing . P.S I'm glad you got a shyte (crap) boot that was used to unbox. I just watched RoseAnvils sellout video of getting a second captain boot because the first one was shit. and everyone pissed that he made a paid ad for Thursdays. seems like Thursdays should Be called Mondays because most people hate them. and no matter what where ever you see a bad comment about Thursday you will find a implanted rebuke by some Thursday paid commenter or so it seems "me thinks doth protest too much". send them boots back Ryan, you paid for a new boot.
@@a.csarmiento8847 hey thanks for the offer. Funny story is I do have a nice knife that was a gift but I just couldn’t find it anywhere. Last night I went through some of my boot boxes and there it was in my Parkhurst Allen box 😀. I guess I’ve been unboxing too many boots.
