Emmet Cohen - Piano
Mike Rodriguez - Trumpet
John Ellis - Tenor Saxophone
Yasushi Nakamura - Bass
Kyle Poole - Drums
Good to see a trumpet player with a tasty well structured solo who doesn't try to impress you with how many notes he can play or how high he can play or how fast he can play. Thanks!!
No need to shoot the lights out every time I agree. This guy's got it.
Saw Mike very briefly (standing a few minutes) at the Vanguard this past summer… he has a great sound and very modern approach. Very capable musician.

YASUSHI NAKAMURA!🙌🏽🤗💖
Damn, Mike’s solo really had it all
God dang my soul Emmit Cohn you always bring 1001 smiles to my face with that oh so sweet finger roll on the old 88 keys… I now dub you ( Butter Finger )… hey, the Kettle Corn is on me when you want to try some. Some for the joy you bring us all.
good comment
Fantastic. Mike’s rhythm on this is incredible and I can hear the spirit of Clifford channeling through 😎
One handed brushed drum solo and still swung like crazy! Thank you Kyle.
That swing is HEAVYYYY
Amazing solo by Mike Rodriguez! Soulful and elegant. I'm definitely going to transcribe it!
Music is the voice of the Soul.. Awesome Musicianship: Knowledge, skill, and artistic sensitivity in performing music.
Transcribe Kenny Durham better...from the originals
Oh my, really thoughtful, swings. Lovely sounds from both all these guys. Great trumpet sound and feel!
Fantastic trumpeter. Love his sound.
Mike betta play that thang
Love 12 bar blues. This is the soul of jazz.
amazing
Nice job Mr. Rodriguez!
Absolutely brilliant! Wow.
Just what I needed
Feeels so gooood
4 mesures Saxophonist's jetlag.. love it ;)
all blues fans, listen to this!!
Very indeed.
man, why is it so hard to find a chart for this tune? I'm going to have to write it out myself.
It's just b flat blues
Of course, but I wanted a lead sheet with the melody. I wrote it out myself.@@_Toucan_Sam_
Mike rollin like Sonny
Anyone know what would be the tastiest changes for the last 4 bars given the chromaticism in the head? Seems like a traditional jazz blues changes doesn't sound right. I know Parker did some super cool twists on the blues.
TUFF E NUFF
👍👍👍
😊 ✨
Contemplation by Wayne?
Right.
4:00
1:23 lmao
Damn..its usually in C
I could tell the sax player wasn’t taping
his foot without even looking.
timing diversity? Great tone tho.
With some work he’s gonna be awesome^_^
This is an attempt at humor, right? John Ellis is great. Not sure what you heard
He was my favorite part of the whole thing man… and Mike was phenomenal. Not sure what you’re not hearing
not sure if your ears are working right buddy
The depth of incoherence in that entire statement highlights the writer's musical deafness beyond all reason. Or it's just really tragic humour. Hard to tell which.
😂
