Truly one of my favorite content creators across all of TH-cam. Your videos coupled with the warm, rhythmic acoustic soundtrack strike the perfect vibe again and again. Not only do I learn a ton and enjoy the camaraderie of the outdoor cooking community, I relax and enjoy the bliss of lower blood pressure and regulated breathing. Thank you.

That gas assist is a game changer, though! I have one and all I really use it for is lighting my chimney and outdoor storage, but it’s indispensable for the gas assist alone.

I love cooking with Weber Kettles. I've rescued all of 5 (3 performers and two 3-legged kettles) of mine on the cheap from Craigslist ... and then spent 4 to 5 times as much pimping them out with various after-market upgrades, mods, and accessories. Very versatile pieces of cooking equipment.

You know Ry, Your videos have changed my life for the better. I have been watching your videos for a while now and your passion for cooking has helped me getting over some darkest times of my life by just watching you cook . I had passion for cooking ones but i lost the spark after loosing my dear friend and then getting "under the weather" my self. A month ago i was watching your videos and it got me thinking maybe i should do something with my life again and not just morn and drink. I desided to buy a charcoal grill and maybe that would give me hope again but ended up with Weber Performer Deluxe instead of the regular kettle. Best therapy a have ever had and have been cooking on it every day and cant see my self stopping anytime soon. Thank you for sharing your passion with us. Also thank you for lighting my spark for getting better again!
I hope that i wrote that right and didn't have too many typos.

So many new type charcoal grills out there plus all the wood pellets, but I still like the Weber kettles. I bought a reconditioned Deluxe from a guy that finds grills and reconditions these for resale. I don't grill a whole lot because of family size so I just stick with the Weber baskets and keep it simple. Folks rave about my food. Thanks Ry for all the good video content.

Can't beat a weber kettle. i've been having the one that i currently use since 1999. It sleeps outside uncovered in the weather and still looks like it is in excellent condition. Return on investment wise or cooking wise, i'd put it up against any grill or smoker.

My wife bought me a performer deluxe last year for my birthday. Love the gas assist. But I agree it's not in the best place for a chimney. I really like the GBS system. I hear what you're saying about the 3-legs on the Weber, esp. every time I need to move my turn-of-the-century 18.5 inch kettle, but there is a reason for that number of legs. It's mathematically more stable (while not being moved) because with 3 legs, it can't wobble. Three points of contact will always form a flat plane. If there were 4 legs and one were slightly shorter (or your surface wasn't completely flat and even), you'd have a wobble.

    • @deanvoss7098
      @deanvoss7098 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm with you brotha...
You really don't move your grill that often.
And I like my table separate so you can walk around the cooker easier and get to the meat or charcoal. All them gizmos look amazing on peoples deck though.

I totally understand the top heavy kettle physics. I have tipped mine over a few times and have the dents to prove it. Great mods Ry. Well worth the voided warranty. If you are temped to do your older zip cut probe wire port mod, here is a tip, only cut the lower lip. The top does not need a notch. Happy new kettle!

I am about to make a grill purchase too. I used a Weber kettle for years and then decided to get a Weber gas grill for the convenience factor. I wore that out and bought a second. Then I got enamored with smokers so I replaced the Weber with a pellet smoker. After a year and a half I was happy enough with it, but it wasn’t great for grilling. Then I discovered a TH-cam channel from one of your colleagues from north of the border and got enamored with charcoal cooking again - on a kamado grill. I got the Junior version and have loved it. So I’m going to sell the smoker and get a bigger kamado grill that has smoker functionality. I love the kamado features. I don’t think I could go back to a kettle.

I have a Performer Deluxe Grill, my second Weber. It's a very nice grill, especially in the maroon color. I have never used the touch and go ignition option. Might try it this winter. The table is very useful and the charcoal bin is also nice feature. My only complaint is the wheels. Cheap plastic wheels that don't seem very sturdy and front casters could be somewhat bigger.. But, I am happy with it. I might look into getting the grate setup you have..

You beat me to the performer. My wife wishes you would stop getting new stuff because she thinks that it just makes me want...😁 I missed the LAST Kamado I was trying to get, I missed the Weber 1st Gen Summit SO 3rd on the list was Black Weber Performer (no gas) They have lots of these. It cost me Tenderloin, grilled yellow zuccini and ball squash, Baked sweet tatters on the Master Touch. She say 3 smokers and 6 grills is enough. I've told her it's my therapy to beat this cancer...She keeps telling me If the camera's don't start getting used she's gonna sell them. Keep it up my friend and I for one enjoy the different styles of cooks you do.

I've been looking at the performer for awhile, however my kettle is still good I think you just sealed the deal, and the fire wall looks very interesting.

Get a performer. You could gift or sell your kettle, or keep it as a travel back up. I have s performer with gas assist and it’s a game changer!

Hope they post the grate to Ireland. Was looking at a performer for that very reason

That Mallory Firewall is CHUNKY. Cool design, though. I like that it's adjustable, which is about my only complaint with the Slow 'n Sear. I'd love to get your review on it.

Weber needs to make a 26 inch performer!! I've seen some people who moded the cart, but I'm lazy haha
